WIFI Connection

My car's wifi connection drops several times, then i have to select it again manually for it to reconnect. Why does it disconnect, and why does it not reconnect automatically when it detects one of the saved wifi's??

Hmmm, too little information. Perhaps say what kind of WiFi equipment you have and signal strength in the car when it is connected. I've seen some cases where if the signal is weak to begin with, then if the car loses connection, it says on cellular. Not always the case. Lots of variables.

Like Silicon Desert said, it may be a signal strength issue.

Wifi antenna is in the passenger side mirror from what I've read. I can have great signal strength on my phone but the X only has 1 bar.

Don't even get me started on the app. Can connect anywhere but at home.

I was using a mobile router to update the navigation database, but it managed to install everything during the night, so since i have the premium connectivity package until the next navigation database update i'm set! Thanks!

I’m experiencing a similar situation, cannot get WiFi to connect to my phone more often than not. Can the premium connectivity’s package still be purchased?

I have the premium connectivity package but unfortunatly it does NOT download the navigation database except with wifi connection. Thats why i bought the mobile router. It does download the software updated though.

The WiFi doesn't stay connected. It only connects for a little bit after the car stops and then disconnects. It only stays connected if there is something to do.

More specifically, that portion of the computer shuts down to conserve power.

Had mine dropping the connection. Rebooted the router and was able to get it fixed. Worth a try

How do you do a router reset? I assume u mean it’s part of the car system.

No the router is an external piece of hardware that provides the signal in your house. Usually black or white with antennae and cables. You can unplug from the wall for
45 seconds and replug. If you’re not sure call you internet provider for help.
