Can't you keep wifi always OFF ?

Hi folks,

I have a poor wifi reception where my car is parked (usually 2 bars) because I am using a wifi range extender.
I noticed that when my car is connected to wifi here it uses a lot of battery overnight. I suspect because of the poor signal it disconnects and reconnects often, thus keeping the car awake.

When the wifi was turned off, the consumption was much lower. However, if I turn the wifi off, it automatically turns ON next time I drive.

Is there a setting to keep the wifi always OFF or prevent it from connecting to my network? I want to turn it ON only when there is an update available.

This should not keep the car awake. As a test just go into the WiFi settings and have it forget your home network. See if that makes any difference.

It might keep the car awake if there's an update available and the car is trying (but failing) to download it? Far fetched but a possibility. Otherwise I agree, and forgetting the network is the best way to try it out.

I concur, my 2018 M3 is not connected to my WiFi when it goes to sleep.
