I want to upgrade my 19” Slipstreams to 9” Model X square set up. I have the wheels and a good deal on set tires, 255/40/R20, but don’t know if that set up will clear the front fender well. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
I use 245/40R20 on aftermarket wheels that are sized the same as the MX wheels. I still get just a touch of rubbing when reversing at full lock. Larger tires like 255/40s would be worse.
Beatle- how long have you been running on this square set up? I’m curious of doing this and wondering how many miles you could/or did get out of the tires.
I just started running the 20 inch slipstreams staggered with 245/40 front’s but 275/40 rears
I've had the setup for a little over 2 1/2 years. I first had it on my 2015 and then moved it to my 2019. I'm having the Michelin A/S 3+ tires replaced on Wednesday with a set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s. I've got about 27k on the Michelins. They're pretty darn close to the wear bars, but not quite. I could probably push them to 30k, but they are getting a little sketchy in standing water.
That looks great from your profile picture and you’re the first person I’ve heard of doing this setup. Looks doap!. Do you have adjustable air ride or coils? How many miles have you got from your tires on using the square’d 20x9.5’s?
