Will MX75D work for a trip to Sequoia National Park?

I'm thinking about going to Sequoia National Park on Memorial Day, but it seems like there are no superchargers that's really close to the park... my 75D shows about 235miles when fully charged but I think it's more like 170miles in my way of driving...

Has anyone done a road trip to Sequoia National Park with a Tesla? If so how did you guys manage the trip? And how much does driving on the mountains burn more than your everyday driving? Thanks!

Charge up in Tejon or Fresno. May want to add more in Visalia with chademo. Also a destination charger near the park entrance at a restaurant.

Play around with evtripplanner.com there is a huge impact on range going uphill.

Like McManX said, you need to charge up at Tejon ranch which is about 121 miles from Sequoia National Park. You then might want to stop by destination charger at Gateway Restaurant & Lodge just next to it.

Yeah I'm planning to stay there overnight or for a meal, but they only have one charging port... might have to fight someone for it lol

I was using buffer of 30% instead of 15% to make up for the 15kWh difference, now it works lol

Only p90d but still can look at the kWh and mileage for comparison. Usage will be a big more on p90d but probably more representative of lead foot driving

Charge up in Tejon and then recharge up in Fresno. Take the local street down Herondon towards 41north and head towards Yosemite. You'll definitely want to drive local as it saves miles trekking up 41n past Oakhurst into Yosemite. You'll have to recharge somewhere up in the mountain just to be safe.

I did this in my x90d. Full charge at the Gateway. The trip up from the Gateway to the lodge in Sequoia took a lot of energy. I am glad I had 90.

How much do you have left when you arrive at the next charging station after Gateway?

And it's only a 110 according to Plugshare... that cant' be right. That's not a destination charger.

I think I read some where that it's 16kW charging, which means it can charge half of my 75D in a little more than 2 hours. Half will be what's consumed from the supercharger to it.

Both take elevation into account, ev trip planner might be a bit better
