Windshield Replacement For Model 3 - Toronto Area

Sorry to revive old thread, got Stone chip on my 2 week old m3 thats turned into a crack. Have an appointment tomorrow and I was wondering if you paid out of pocket upfront and then went to insurance.

I have been advised to NEVER pay out of pocket if possible

Not a windshield, but I noticed a little reflection in the corner of rear window one day, and within a week it had grown to a 6" crack.
Couldn't even feel the edge, and it was not near any area where pinching might occur.
Arranged for replacement under warranty with Tesla on Lawrence Avenue.
Flawless, easy, they even gave me an Uber coupon to get home and back. Kudos!

I am being quoted $1900+ for Model 3. Vandalized with nothing picked up on camera.

Well as of January 20, 2022 they are not performing glass replacement in house. They have advised me to go to Excellence Auto Collision for it. Which I am really hesitant to do because they did not do a good job the last time I had to use them for body work. Sadly it really needs to be replaced, seems like I have no other choice.
