My confirmation was sent last night at 3am. I'm on the same September -early October delivery schedule. Any friendly bets on who gets a delivery date first? How about first trips planned around that time in your new MS? I'll miss my wedding annivarsary so maybe it'll have to be a short weekend getaway to a B&B with charging of course.
As you said, now to start ordering/paying for all the after market/accessories once MS arrives. Plenty of time to drive ourselves insane.

I received an email tonight from Tesla that my car has been completed!!! Yay!!! When I went to my page on the Tesla site I saw a strange message that said I had arranged for my own outside financing, which wasn't true. Plan is to still finance through Tesla and its partner Alliant Credit Union (already applied and approved). The page also stated my that preferred delivery was September, but I could change to sooner by changing my delivery preference. Also not true: I had requested sooner previously with sales rep, but don't see where I can change this back to sooner. Perhaps just computer blips, but I thought I'd share my experience with others. I also didn't receive emails when the vin was assigned nor when it entered production. I sent email to my delivery specialist and financing rep to help fix. Fingers crossed. Electrician shows up next week so maybe the stars will align since I'm on the west coast.

The message for outside financing is common and accurate. On your final price sheet you will see Alloant listed as "Other Financing" or something along those lines.

No where in the My Tesla portal will it allow you to adjust the delivery date after the confirmation period. So you will just have to go through your delivery specialist for that. However it is basically September so it may not matter anymore.

The emails are laughably late. I'm not sure what triggers them to be sent out, but they either need to fix that system or just get rid of it all together. No point in telling customers they will receive emails when certain stages are completed and then the system send out emails days or weeks after that stage is completed or not even at all.

I'm going to start the financing process with Allient this week but wanted to know from you and others, how long did it actually take for your car to be built? My Model S was in production for all of 48 hours and then it snuck it's way onto a truck and was delivered to the service center in South Florida a week later. I still can't comprehend how they were able to manage that. My DS told me I'd be in production for 7-10 days and transportation 3-4 weeks. Those numbers were off by about 3-4 weeks in my favor.

I would recommend holding off on Alliant Credit until you know for certain you are within about 3 weeks of your delivery as the credit approval only lasts 30 days before they have to pull it again.

For Alliant I literally spent about 10 minutes on the phone with them over the span of 2 phone calls to complete the loan. So you really don't need much time at all to secure the loan.

On a side note, it's so crazy how nice this car is. I'm finding myself at all times just coming up with excuses to drive it. Offering to run errands for my fiancée or pick up a family member. The wait is painful (and I only had to wait 4.5 weeks for delivery), but it's totally worth it. Your face will hurt from the grinning.

Super Woo Hoo!!! Confirmed on 8/13 and picking up is scheduled for this Friday. I could have scheduled for Thursday pickup, but the electrician is wiring the garage with my Tesla 24' charger that day. Financing process with Alliant Credit Union was very easy and simple! Much better rates than even USAA.
