In my previous thread (Thule T2 Pro with extension) I shared my experience with our 4-bike Thule T2 Pro. Today I installed a new Yakima Dr. Tray & EZ-1.
Pros:
- Much lighter...better if the rumors of a low bike weight on our hitches is true (see discussion in prior thread)
- Size is much more reasonable for the size of the X
- Bike spacing is adjustable on the fly without tools
Cons:
- 1 less bike
- I still prefer the usability of the Thule
Obviously I'm comparing both racks with the extensions (+2 for the Thule, +1 for the Yakima). Comparing the base 2 bike rack removes one of the cons. I'm very happy with this rack and given the significant weight and size advantage, it will be the go-to on the Model X. The T2 Pro will be the "whole family" rack on our other SUV.
