What would make you buy a non Tesla electric vehicle?

I just ordered my 3rd Model S. When I bought my first one, I thought I would never drive anything else. However, the decline in customer service has pissed me off and compelled me to test drive the Audi eTron and the Jaguar iPace. No longer offering a person to answer a phone call to customer...

Frunk dent and scratch - caught on sentry

Yes, these 2 young men were exhibiting car worship. My question is, yes it's wrong to sit on anyone else's car, but what car have you ever had before that gets dented by someone just sitting on it? They didn't step on it, they just sat on it. The frunk hood is just too damned fragile.

    Tesla Service Centers

Uber credit isn't a bad solution, but certainly not the same as getting a similar car as a loaner. And not picking my car up, but instead, requiring that I drive it to the service center 40 minutes away is just not acceptable when they promised that they'd pick up my car and drop off a loaner...

    Tesla Service Centers

I' ve had 2 Model S's and in total have driven them for 5 1/2 years. I've loved them and have been an enthusiastic owner and advocate for the company. The service here in S Florida has always been exemplary and I have bragged about it to my friends with other cars. But that has all changed. I...

    17.17.4

Is anyone here aware if the 4 side video cameras were enabled with the 8.1 17.17.4 update ? Yes, we are still waiting for rain sensing windshield wipers and auto perpendicular parking to bring AP2 to parity with AP1. I concur with RobWoodruff: Does not display cars in the next lane Does not...

Can someone explain "Summon" to me

There are 3 ways to initiate Summon, and I've found the feature to be quite accurate and reproducible: Key Fob, Shift Stalk park button and Tesla App. When I arrive home, the car opens my garage door automatically as I turn into my driveway. I put the car in Park no more than 25 feet from its...

    AP2 / 8.1 Test Drive Perspective from AP1 Owner

I agree 100% with Gibson's observations about the capabilities and behaviors of AP2, especially as it compares to AP1. And I am not angry with Tesla as Oktane is. I, in fact, love the company and am known as an evangelist among my friends. And I have a gain in the stock, which ain't too...

    AP2 / 8.1 Test Drive Perspective from AP1 Owner

My feeling is that if AP 1 or 2 does not drive at least as well as I do, it is really just a gimmick at this point. And I can say without reservation that my 75D AP2 car does not. It wanders in the lane more than I do when I am steering, and is more abrupt in acceleration and deceleration...

    HUD ("Heads Up Display") Discussion

This should put the matter as to whether or not there will be a HUD to rest...unless you don't believe what Elon says. Frankly, I have found him to be very true to his word. There will be no HUD. Elon Musk talks Tesla Model 3 display again, shows confidence in ‘Tesla Vision’ or...

    HUD ("Heads Up Display") Discussion

I agree with Matias. When I'm using autosteer (which is seldom because it's implementation in my recent 21 sensor car only uses 1 of the 8 video cameras and performs very poorly) I NEED to look at the center display and the road constantly to see if the car is staying in the lane. It drifts...

    HUD ("Heads Up Display") Discussion

Elon Musk tweeted today that there will be no heads up display, as reported on Electrek today...suggesting that the Center Console 15 inch display will be the only driver display in the car. An image was shown with the speedometer display on the upper left of the center mounted screen. I am...

Delay in getting Autosteer/AutoPark and Rain Sensing Wipers - We are owed a Refund

After being the most enthusiastic Tesla owner for the 3 years I've driven a Model S 85, the new 75D I just got in January is disappointing me in a few areas. The salesman I worked with on the upgrade was like most Tesla staff, excellent. But he did tell me that the HW2 cars with the 21 sensors...

HW2: Still no rain-sensing wipers. No Auto-high beams

    Model S Tire Wear

I have the 19 inch tires and I needed to replace the rear set at about 15,000 miles. I live in South Florida where the average temp is hotter than many parts of the world. I admit I tend to accelerate fast from stop. Isn't that the point ith this car ? I do not drive crazy, but do often do...

    What's your 7.1 experience?!

I tried the Auto open and auto close for the garage door. It didn't work at first, but does seem to have "learned" after 3 attempts. I enabled the auto open and close features, and then pulled out of the garage to test it. It did not autoclose the door as I drove away. When I came back to...
