wall connector with long cord on back order

My electrician asked if my HPWC was hard wired or had the 14-50 plug. Apparently the 14-50 version sometimes triggered the GFCI on the 14-50 plug, which led to battles between the owner, Tesla, and the electrician (who was just following code). Mine is hard wired, but if it had a plug, the...

wall connector with long cord on back order

A correction to your otherwise useful post: The right connection is a 14-50. Don't want people installing the wrong thing at home.

Looking for Boston area recommended installer for Suspension parts

I posted this earlier under Model 3 Driving Dynamics, but didn’t get any responses, so I will try here as well. I have a Model 3 and just received coilovers from Mountain Pass Performance. I am looking for a recommendation on someone who can install these parts. I work in Boston, so that would...

Boston area installer recommendations for coilovers?

I just received my MPP coilovers and camber arms. But now I need to get them on the vehicle, dfwatt had a recommended installer in New Hampshire. They work on weekends, but for this they only do weekdays. Since I work in Boston that would mean a full day off from work to install. Can anyone...

Sharing home L2 charging with others during blackouts

Wow, that’s a very long time. That must have been a major adjustment. Did you stay at home or did it get too cold?

Sharing home L2 charging with others during blackouts

Thanks. I think this is one of those things that early EV adopters just knew and depended upon, but that newcomers to EVs like me are unaware of because of home charging and the extensive SuperCharger network. The last time I lost power for multiple days was 20 years ago. But I have had several...

Sharing home L2 charging with others during blackouts

Winter is approaching and with it come the possibility of ice storms and downed power lines. A major storm can knock out power for hundreds of thousands of people in an area, perhaps for days. Likewise, many EV owners in California affected by the rolling blackouts have had to scramble to find...

M3P vs winter tires - in Boston, MASS

It sounds like you got the Model 3 Performance with the Performance Upgrade Package (including bigger brakes). If so, you need to be very careful about which wheels you buy if you get a spare set of wheels for the winter tires. Tesla's 19" wheels don't fit without modifications. Only their 20"...

Kid driving dads Tesla tries to drift around a car meet with lots of people, promptly gets removed.

It’s a good sign that they ejected him. Drifting in crowded areas can get people killed.

I know the Porsche demographic. Macans, Cayennes and Panameras are daily drivers. 911s are mostly weekend cars except in very good climates. Boxsters and Caymans can be weekend or daily cars based upon the owner's budget and location.

People with money can be frugal in unexpected ways. The chairman of my company has bought a number of new Porsche 911s, but he used an iPhone 3s until a few years ago.

    Hydropneumatic Suspension

Funny, I think the suspension on the 3 is too soft and should have been firmer from the factory. Any softer and I wouldn’t have bought it. As it is, I am going to change it out to make it firmer.

    Taycan Takedown

Is anyone really surprised that a Porsche that costs 50% more, before options, outperforms a Model S? And as a former (and likely soon to be again) Porsche owner, the sticker price of a Porsche is easily 25% more than the base price due to the numerous options required to make the car enjoyable.

I remember reading, on Rennlist I think, that the video showed Jonny's watch a few times and the total time was about an hour. In other words, not back to back.
