    Road noise verdict

True, but the OP asked about it. I've not seen any tests showing elaborate sound isolation work has made any difference. But the tubing does make a difference in many cars in total noise reduction.

    Road noise verdict

Surprisingly the simple roof tubing seems to be the one mod that consistently makes a difference, albeit not huge. Much more significant work on door seals and dynamating, etc. seems to make very little difference.

    Auto A/C Anomaly

So lately it seems that the auto A/C will only turn on the foot vents...this is when it is 80 degrees F or above outside. I can shut off the foot vent and turn on the face vents, but then the system is in manual mode, so I need to select auto mode again. Anyone else have this issue? I'm on...

I reported this question and suggested the moderator move it from where it was, which was buried in the middle of an unrelated thread.

    Fluid Replacement Intervals have changed

My car spent 30 days in a body shop. They moved it around a bit during that time but on the last day they went to back it up and a rear pad was frozen to the rotor and it literally broke the pad and fell out to the ground. 4,400 miles on the odo. Performance model.

    MPP Comfort Coilovers

Lack of supply results in higher prices for an in-demand product. Lucky him. I say he should sell it for as much as he can get. Let the market decide what it's worth.

Suspension problems. OEM dampers are failing.

What did Tesla do with all the early suspension they took off of cars of people that complained that it was too stiff? Seems like they could at least offer that suspension to you even if you had to pay for labor to switch it out. It's probably sitting in a warehouse somewhere gathering dust...

    Front bumper damaged

You might consider a prepainted bumper from Tesla. Parts are reasonably priced IMO. My rear bumper, unpainted was $350. I think I read here somewhere that painted front bumper is $900, but not positive.

    Front bumper damaged

So if you hit something that is in motion, such as a tire tread kicked up from a truck or a moving animal, you are covered under comprehensive which usually has a lower deductible than collision. If you hit something stationary, such as that same tire tread, but it is not moving, then it is...

Anyone using the Seasucker Mini Bomber bike rack on their Model 3?

When I travel with a rack for road trips (not in the model 3), we won't let the bikes out of sight even with a cable lock. Years ago a friend of mine stopped for lunch on a road trip with roof rack with forks locked on. The thief simply rocked the bike until the rack broke and ran off with it...

    PG&E Rate Plan Questions

You should post this question in the battery and charging forum. Check PG&E website for info on Time of Use plans. For example I pay $.09 per Kwh overnight from SDG&E. Usually the website will have a calculator to help you figure out which plan is best for you. $.22 not too bad though...mine...

    Broken rear brake pad?

Car was driven into the body shop so I don't think it was ever towed...they did remove that wheel to repair that rear quarter panel, but I can't imagine them needing to tow the car around the lot. There are some grooves on the inside track section of the rotor and then the pad imprint with some...

Anyone using the Seasucker Mini Bomber bike rack on their Model 3?

Hey VOIP, I recognize your username from the mt bike forum. I transport my bike inside the car and it works well. One question I have about those suction racks is how do you put a lock on the bike? My bike is XL 29" wheels.

    Broken rear brake pad?

Got the car back. Although they didn't have the broken pad still, I could see on the rotor and imprint where the pad somehow became bonded to the rotor. It took quite a bit of driving on low regen to wear that spot away. You can see it in the picture attached. Notice the dark spot in between...

    Broken rear brake pad?

Ya, it does seem fishy. They said they're covering the expense. They're way overdue for completion and I've been on them. Wonder if it was something simple like breaking the wheel center cap and they didn't want to admit their screwup was causing further delay. Have never taken one of the...

    Broken rear brake pad?

I got sideswiped on the freeway. Front fender replaced and rear quarter panel repaired, mild cosmetic damage to front (buffed out) and rear wheel (the one with the broken pad). 4 wheel alignment checked out perfectly. The tires of the Tacoma rubbed against my front and rear wheel and front...

    Broken rear brake pad?

No pics, car is at body shop and they said they were backing the car and heard a clunk and the pad broke. 4,000 miles on the car. I don't even know what broke in half means. Clearly the steel backing plate shouldn't have broken, so perhaps the friction material separated from the backing plate?

So...why does the center console have a soft-close sensor?

I saw a youtube review of the 3 and the tester actually said he couldn't get the console doors to stay closed and it showed him slamming them shut and bouncing back. He was serious. He kept doing it over and over.

    FEELING SCAMMED BY TESLA

    P3D+ Tire Wear Report - Pilot Sport 4S - 15k miles

You're right, weight distribution about perfect on the 3, but it's more about which wheels are generating the most torque...usually biased towards the rear, although most reports I've read report fairly even front to back wear. But not the case with everyone as you can see earlier in the...

Accident on Brand New Model 3

Suggest having the shop order the fender and bumper, if needed, before you leave the car. I got a fender and rear bumper in a few weeks so not too bad, then brought the car in.

Accident on Brand New Model 3

Front fender is aluminum...can't be repaired, cost is $250 from Tesla, so pretty cheap. Mine's being fixed as we speak.

    Bodywork Price Gouging

I'm not sure a Tesla painted bumper is better than body shop painted, given all the paint issues we've read about. FYI Tesla charges $350 for an unpainted bumper and $250 for a front quarter panel.

Fastrak Toll Road Stickers Working With M3 Windshield?

I have the sticker too. Hoping some people will chime in on whether it works in all locations. Toll roads say to mount at bottom of windshield on left or right, but as I recall Tesla manual said to mount transponders to the right of the rear view mirror. Im guessing it will probably work...

Yes, they say Full Self Driving CAPABILITY. Do you read that to mean something less than full self driving? Most people don't read the manual so they never see the disclaimers about highway only.

$1500 Door Ding / Blend Pearl White Paint On Other Door?

I was going to suggest this too. Had it done on my S4 and wasn't perfect but only cost $150 and then touched it up with touch up paint. As far as blending, yes that's how body shops do it. Mine is in the shop now after getting side-swiped and they will blend the paint.
