Tesla Is Finally Updating Its Autopark Feature by The End of This Month

All I can say is that all of the above work for me on a daily basis, except for Smart Summon which I've never used and Summon, which is simply a parlor trick for me. My car is a 2022 M3 LR EAP, and I believe it has USS. What year and model do you drive?

Why are TACC, AP (and ?FSD) so bad?

I understand the frame of your argument, but I see the analogy like this: FSDb or Autopilot is the swing set - the cliff's edge is city or highway traffic - the sign is the manual that tells you to use it safely with your hands on the wheel and in which situation each is designed to work.

Why Does EAP Brake So Late When Stopping In Traffic???

I paid for EAP. NoA, Autosteer, Auto Lane Change and Autopark all work fine for me on a daily basis. I've tried Summon once in my driveway. It's just a parlor trick for me. If I was unable to get into my car in a parking lot because another squeezed me in, I'd try it again. I've never tried...

Why are TACC, AP (and ?FSD) so bad?

No, you see, that's the problem. Just because it's called Autopilot doesn't mean you can use it everywhere. Or are you talking about the wheel issue? I'm sure there are thousands of Tesla drivers who don't have an issue with wheel nags. I'm one of them. There are others who do. So, what is it...

    FSD Beta v11.x

I don't believe FSDb performance is a warranty issue. I'm not making apologies or excuses for Tesla, just stating what I believe may be true (without looking at the actual warranty at this moment).

Why Does EAP Brake So Late When Stopping In Traffic???

Once again, AP/EAP is not designed to be used in non-highway environments. Simple as that...

A warranty claim is not necessarily an accident, anything else is speculation. We won't know until it's reported, none of us can say for sure.

Tesla Begrudgingly “Recalls” FSD Beta for NHTSA

Full Driver Assist would have been a more fortunate moniker, for sure, with the promise of a regulated and complete FSD at a not-defined future date. The moniker is a huge part of the problem and perception.

    Smart Summon

If no one knows anything, don't say anything. It's not helpful...as I said in a recent post, everyone seems to know everything about single-stack, FSDb's future, why the car did this or that, why a wheel weight is the answer, etc, etc...all pontificating by people who don't know.

My reply in the quote you posted was meant to answer the use of AP on roads that are not specified in the manual, NOT about holding the wheel.

Why are TACC, AP (and ?FSD) so bad?

I am glad to hear this. As I mentioned, it is "occasional" for them to experience and they told me about this 2 years before I got my Tesla. So as it is for many drivers, some cars experience it, others don't. I have experienced it once, but it wasn't a slam-on-the-brakes in NoA mode. I have...

Tesla Begrudgingly “Recalls” FSD Beta for NHTSA

NHTSA has found a few things they want fixed, end of story, but it's a big story "because it's a Tesla". And no, nobody knows what the V11 update will include, let alone the recall issue. Too much speculation on here...

Exactly, lots of variables and unknowns here...as in every reported crash.
  18. P

Why are TACC, AP (and ?FSD) so bad?

Um, no...have you read the manual and guidelines? Automatic Emergency Braking is not designed to prevent a collision. At best, it can minimize the impact of a frontal collision by attempting to reduce your driving speed. Depending on Automatic Emergency Braking to avoid a collision can...

Why are TACC, AP (and ?FSD) so bad?

My friends with Chevy and Ford hybrids/EVs that have some type of TACC/AP semi-equivalent said they like it but occasional phantom braking is an issue and they've learned to deal with it.
  20. P

Why are TACC, AP (and ?FSD) so bad?

Don't know how to answer that, except RTFM. Also, if a wheel weight is not supposed to be used for hands-off driving, why do people still use them? If you're required to keep your hands on the wheel, why do people post videos of themselves sleeping or having sex while driving? People do so many...

Tesla Begrudgingly “Recalls” FSD Beta for NHTSA

It has NOT been determined if FSDb was engaged at the time of the crash. There are many headlines stating so, but it was based on the driver's statement, which may or may not be true. There has been no official finding from NHTSA and probably won't be for several years. An aside...there was a...

The Mercedes system is highway only, and not all highways, in Germany. It is essentially TACC, autosteer and lane keeping, and is hands-off. It's available for around $5,300 on S and EQS class vehicles, which start at $104,000 and are usually approx 135k-150k at dealers.

It's useless to teach anyone here the names of the features or the proper usage of them... Also, make sure that the speed limit sign is one that the car recognizes. It usually does not recognize yellow school zone speed limit signs or others that are not formatted in a particular way. Also, could it have anything to do with the fact that AP is not made for city street driving?

Upgrading to FSD beta - starting subscription until FSD beta

Navigate on Autopilot doesn't work on city streets, it's intended for highway driving only. It sounds like you're on FSD (non-beta) if it's slowing down at green lights, etc.

    FSD Beta 10.69

There's a guy on youtube who drives FSDb through Manhattan, very calm, disengages/intervenes when he needs to...but I was surprised at how the software handled the most ridiculously marked streets, with bike lanes, bus lanes, cars and trucks blocking any lane, etc. Crazy, fun and interesting to...

Is FSD Beta going out to cars with 2023.2.0.5 ?

    Standard autopilot question

This is an aside to the OP's original question: I've noticed a lot of people here say that they use or have tried Autopilot on city streets. In my 2022 EAP M3 I can use TACC (no stop light/sign control, only "lead car aware") but it will not allow Autosteer. I thought this was the way it was...

Auto pilot on navigation on high way sudden slow down, van behind me almost rear ended me

Once again, there is a nomenclature problem here. Enhanced Autopilot will perform an Auto Lane Change , driver initiated or vehicle initiated, depending on the settings. At the present time, if you purchase FSD, you automatically get the Enhanced Autopilot functions. FSD does NOT allow lane...

Won't Automatically Go After Stop Sign

My apologies...FSD (not FSD Beta) will stop at stop signs and red lights but it won't autosteer on city streets. Won't Automatically Go After Stop Sign

There seems to be a major nomenclature issue here on TMC. Many people use the terms Autopilot, TACC, EAP, NoA, FSD and FSDb when describing their experiences and situations interchangeably whether they're aware of it or not. I wish people would use the correct term for their assist modes. None...
