Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

On the subject of Autopilot (1) It took me a few months to feel comfortable and trust what it would do , I am not young as most of you so that's the way it is (2) I use Autopilot ONLY when I feel comfortable with the path (3) I don't use Autopilot to turn left and right in town or exit on...

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

https://teslatale.com/tesla-autosteer/ I think "Autosteer" function is under the umbrella of Autopilot, is it not? IMO the general term "recall" being used in public is not correct. Recall generally means "bring your car in to be fixed". In this case the fixing would be OTA, am I correct...

Discussion: Model Y General Waiting room for orders placed After January 2023

May 2022 a local retired master Electrician installed my Wall Charger for $900. That included his labor, 60A circuit breaker, 50 ft cable running from my garage to the breaker box in the basement. Never had any problems ever since

    Thoughts on cabin carbon filters?

I am no good about cars so don't take this as an advise, just my 2-cents worth (1) 'They' say :replace cabin filter very 2 yrs? IMO it should be (a) smell related (b) mileages related... not yrs related, (2) I changed my 1996 MB E-320 cabin filter once since 1996 (3) I change my 1996 MB...

    M3LR on Michelin Defender 2

Thanks for Info. I am not a "tires Pro" so I always go with whatever on sales at Costco at that time. They normally "rotate" sales between Michelin and Bridgestone

Some new data from research on Tesla model 3 cells

That's 2016 data. I wonder if they publish 2020-2022 data of LFP cells Tesla battery?

Some new data from research on Tesla model 3 cells

    Uberturbine Aero Covers

Not sure if this Utube is related to the discussion within this thread IMO, Aerodynamics is 99% related to the shape of the car. Some new data from research on Tesla model 3 cells

I have seen too many charts and data since I got my 2023 MYLR . I digest them (as a scientist) but I am not sure what I believe anymore. Testla website says (1) U can charge anytime (2) Plug in all the time is OK (3) Up to 80% is OK (4) Charge up to 100% then drive right away to discharge

Michelin CrossClimate 2 finally coming to Model Y size

I do not have CC2 with MYLR but I had them installed on my 2015 Lexus CT200h and sold the car after 6 months when I got MYLR. IMO, keep in mind that CC2 tires were specified as "snow tires?". They are good tires but if U want something "less rough" than those of your current tires than CC2 is...

Android phone key no longer works after service visit: here is fix

    Rivian has bought ABRP

Thanks all Pros. Greatly appreciated. I played around with it on my desktop to get some ideas what the heck its capability is. I have my 2023 MYLR since end of Nov 2022 and I have only driven it to DC from Phila (Tesla's routing will eventually handle these features.)? Not sure what that...

    Estimate Trade-In Accuracy

UNLESS U have the initial offer stated by a certain date, otherwise U have no case. The law of "Supply and demand," 3 wks could change the offer dramatically , but not (-)$15K IMO. Maybe something else going on

Cargo cover not as good as expected

U never know until U get your car. Mine manufactured in Nov of 2022 (hence it's 2023 model per VIN) from Fremont .My brother's manufactured in Oct of 2022 (hence it's 2022 model per VIN), also from Fremont. Mine has the factory shelf, his does not.

CCS - buy now or wait?

if U travel A LOT on highway... It's for a peace of mind IF NOT... not worth it because in the long run most CCS1 based charge stations will be able to handle Tesla charge port (I think)

Am I Being Quoted Too High For My Wall Connector Installation?

depends on how far the electrician has to run the correct wire to your breaker. Mine is about 45-50ft away and he charged $900 for parts and labor. No problem so far
  31. C

Was the wall Connector really seven hundred bucks?

I paid $400 shipped directly from Tesla in 2022

    M3LR on Michelin Defender 2

I assume you meant "Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4"? Are U in Buffalo NY? do U like this particular tire because of (Dry stop?), (Wet stop?) (Snow stop?). Judging from only 45K miles warranty I assume they are made of SOFT rubber compound. Thanks
  33. C

    M3LR on Michelin Defender 2

How often do U rotate your tires I have mine rotated and balanced at the local Costco tire center at 6000 miles or less. Free of charge IMO 4-wheel alignment is not science. Those who are specialized in "alignment" can do this, does not have to be done my Tesla,MB,BMW,Audi or Porches I believe...

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

I do not have USS so I have nothing to compare to. IMO the Vision technology for park assist performs adequately, I have no problem with it. "Distance accuracy" is off a little but that does not bother me, as long as it yells at me than I pay more attention while parking

DIY fixing a failed charger in a 2013 P85 and how to fix and prevent failure

DIY fixing a failed charger in a 2013 P85 and how to fix and prevent failure

I am quite handy but I don't touch 240V I paid $900 to a certified retired electrician to install the Tesla wall charger in our garage. Flat tire replacement for stock 19" Gemini?

  42. C

Flat tire replacement for stock 19" Gemini?

From what I've been reading, CC2 was initially characterized as "Snow" tire and later classified as 'all seasons tire'. So I assume it's better than average in snow and wet condition compared to others all seasons tire. It's 60K miles warranty so I think it's a great tire for the money. I had...

Spare tyre under-trunk modification for Model Y?

Spare tyre under-trunk modification for Model Y?

IMO... that tiny little foam does NOTHING to noise reduction. If U all Pros have a chance to visit a recording studio then u would know what they do for noise reduction. I had a job interview in 1978 when I was a young and stupid engineer and a scientist took me into a 'noise reduction" room...

NO I did not cut that part. U don't have to

brand new Model YLR bluetooth connectivity issue

    Modern Spare still recommended?

Now that I have a Modern Spare Tire hidden in the trunk cargo space of my 2023 MYLR. I've been running around town - WITHOUT a trap- and have not heard any noises, maybe because I cut a slot tight enough? Is there a chance for it to pop loose? everything is possible but not unlikely I have...
