    Remove FSD Beta

From other posts here it appears that you need to email your VIN to [email protected] and request that you be removed from the FSD beta.

Model Y Summon with Key Fob?

OK, good to know. A few more things to check are... 1) Disable the option Require Continuous press within the car at Controls > Autopilot > Customize Summon > Require Continuous Press. 2) Make sure you have a fresh battery in the key fob. Summon may not operate if the key fob battery is low...

    range anxiety

Good point. Taking a road trip in the dead of winter is different than summertime due to the reduced range.

    Front passenger door trim bubbling

Doubt that as those are pretty weatherproof. Most likely heat gun got too close if the windows were tinted.

Corded Mobile Connector Button Not Opening Charge Port Door

Are you close to the charge port door when you press the button on the corded mobile connector? Also, if the car is sleeping you may need to press the button a couple times before the car wakes up and opens the door.

Model Y Summon with Key Fob?

Have you verified you can use Summon with your mobile phone first? BTW - I use Summon all the time to back the MY out of the garage but never tried with a key fob.

    ModelY required maintenance

Or better yet just put some notices or reminders in the "Service" section in the car. Let you one button schedule mobile service for timed or mileage maintenance items and give the option to reset them yourself or dismiss them. ICE cars have had "maintenance minder" type systems built in for...

Parked Idle for 5 months. Unplugged

@Sanbornsax - Can you give a few more details on how you left it? I'm assuming you turned off Sentry mode and cabin overheat protection but also didn't wake up the car by checking it via the mobile app? People frequently ask about leaving their car at the airport for 2-3 weeks and are...

    Cleaning headliner?

Isopropyl alcohol. Dab with a clean, saturated cloth and blot dry with another dry, clean cloth. Don't rub. Microfiber seems to work good. I've used for light stains from makeup and light grease marks. Not sure if it'll completely remove heavy stain marks.

The "F" is for fine, right? :)

    FSD automatically cleans clean windshield.

Interesting idea. Maybe it's timed based since it happens whenever I'm stopped at a specific red light coming back from the car wash? But it doesn't happen if the traffic light is green and I'm continuing down the road. So maybe it's location based? I know it's not the position of the sun or...

    FSD automatically cleans clean windshield.

Happened to me again, last night, at the same stoplight, while on FSD beta about 2-3 mins after exiting the manual car wash. Happened a dozen times over the last year through various FSD beta versions. I report it each time and yet it's not fixed.

    Loud pop/rattle when turning

Noise was a metallic, metal on metal grinding squeaking noise when going up a curb or turning the wheel a certain way. It was repeatable. Took about 1.5 hours to replace control arms. Covered under warranty. If you can, record a video of it with sound to show the Service Center when you take...

How does one report a supercharger or a Tesla L2 charger not working?

You would think so but doesn't always work that way. Went on a long trip last year and required the use of a SC. The car showed the SC was open but upon arrival the entire SC site was offline and was that way for three weeks apparently. Construction work in the area had cut off the power. In...

    Loud pop/rattle when turning

Yes. Might be a control arm issue that needs to be looked at or replaced.
  16. Mike_TV

How does one report a supercharger or a Tesla L2 charger not working?

You should report SC issues via Tesla Roadside Assistance. As a precaution, I recommend checking a site like PlugShare right before a trip or during to see if others have reported problems with a SC or other charging stations via the comments or "Check Ins" section...

Bad GPS Kills FSD, Autopilot, TACC

I have two spots in my neighborhood that I can repeat where FSD beta drops out and alerts me to take over immediately. I've reported it a dozen times with no fix so far. I'm on 10.12.2. Not sure if it's GPS dropping out as you say but I've noticed the "tentacle" for the intended predicated...

    Missing Wheel Apron Retainer Clip

There were a half dozen of these missing when I took delivery back in early 2020. I just added it to the next mobile service request and the tech added them. I did wait until I needed something else done. It seemed a bit excessive to have them come out just for that.

    Frunk latch

Agree with you plus once the Frunk is unlatched it'll warn you if you put it into Drive that the Frunk is open (visually and audibly) and disables certain features like Autopilot and FSD beta until you stop, put it in Park and close the Frunk.

Trading in your Tesla? Be sure to factory reset! I didn't....

At what point do you reset to factory? When you park it for the trade in? Before the drive over or pickup from a third party? Not sure when would be the best time to do it.

Rear doors slam rattle when closing. Any fixes?

It's normal. My early 2020 does the same thing. Wish it felt and sound a bit more solid when closing but doesn't.

Ankle Catcher is a cool part name. Similar to a cow catcher on a train?

This happens to me as well.

    Undercarriage plastic ripped off

Deep snow banks, road debris and going straight up steep inclines are all hazards for breaking these things. Aero shield, under covers, lower shields and acoustic covers are terms different manufacturers use. I think Tesla uses aero shield.

    Smart Summon Question

I’m not expecting to be blown away by the feature but I’m supposed to have it and would like to play around with it at least. Pick an empty parking lot somewhere that doesn't have a lot of cars, curbs or poles. Make sure you are close by and stay in line of sight so you can stop it if...

    FSD Not Working at Night

Interesting. Someone posted in another thread somewhere that the Infotainment screen brightens slightly, when FSD beta is engaged, to get the cabin camera some better lighting.

    FSD Not Working at Night

Called Tesla and was told that it sounded like a calibration issue and recommended we reboot the computer. Did that, but the problem remains. Sounds like you rebooted but did you complete the camera calibration afterwards? Controls > Service > Camera Calibration > Clear Calibration

Tesla Registers New Radar Unit With Government

Interesting. So still using it for Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and possibly within FSD beta but not confirmed.

Power off (via Safety) doesn’t keep power off?

The procedure that @jcanoe described is what Tesla Mobile Service does when they need to work on anything electrical in the car like installing Homelink.
  36. Mike_TV

    Sentry mode

No. Wipers are not enabled during Sentry mode. Now if you have FSD beta there is a possible bug where it sprays and turns on the wipers nearly 100% of the time AFTER I clean the windshield (car wash or glass cleaner). :D

    Full self driving Beta

It changed from a big button entitled "NAVIGATE ON AUTOPILOT" to a smaller icon with no text in a recent update. Blue it's on, white it's off. Here is an example... With a destination put into navigation and this turned on, enabling FSD by the stalk, FSD beta will make all of the turns, get...

    Faulty Door Button - anyone?

@Rekognize Just had my 2020 left rear door panel assembly replaced due to the door open button intermittently not working. The button would require 2-4 presses randomly sometimes before the door would open and occasionaly open on the first press. Too bad they couldn't just replace the button...

Tesla SC made my paint issue worse, what can I do?

@yellowr6 Agree with you. I have a deep two inch long scratch in the paint on the inside one of the rear doors. Looks like it was damaged when they installed the door panel assembly. I notice it each time I clean and wash the car. Always think about fixing it with some touch up paint but...

stranded car en route to the bay with zero range. But charged +110 miles in surplus for destination!?

The OP doesn't state what speed his parents were driving while borrowing his car but this is good advice and most likely what happened. You can watch the battery percentage increase as you reduce your speed on highway roadtrips when you slow down from 80 to 65 MPH. I bring up the Energy app on...

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Probably have too many backlog service requests as it is but it would be nice to have this as an option. My last mobile service appointment took almost a month to complete after getting rescheduled by the Service Center twice. About a year ago, I needed some warranty body work done by the...

Elon: Working on Tesla NA Service. Goal of having 2/3 of cars have same day service w/ no wait.

They leased a building to house a large part distribution site here in the Chicago area (Lockport, IL) just for that reason. From job postings it looks like they've started hiring people in the last month or so too. Here is the address if people want to look it up. 308,000 square feet. 16342...

    Nice frunk/trunk organizer option

No. And if you try to put it into Drive, you'll get a warning about driving with the Frunk open too.

    windshield pitting?

Use Barkeeper's Friend. Make a paste with a little water and see if this scrubs off. Flush with clean water. If not, it's just sandblasted due to highway driving. Happens over time.

Water found in passenger front footwell on 2021 Model Y

Still not clear what the root cause of this is. Is it... 1) HEPA filter housing has a seam that leaks and needs to be repaired or sealed to prevent water ingress? or 2) HEPA filter housing was installed incorrectly that allows water ingress?

Has anyone successfully retrofit laminated side glass to Model Y?

The bottom part of the mechanism that holds the glass, whatever it's called, for the laminated and non-laminated glass, is different too and the shape of the bottom of the window is different. The YouTube video (from the first post above) shows this.
