Strange HVAC issue since windshield replacement

Update: After the car sitting overnight when it woke up in the morning it was back to blowing only on the windshield. I guess the only true solution is pushing the update.

Strange HVAC issue since windshield replacement

I fixed the problem by disconnecting the 12 volt, then disconnecting the high voltage connector under the rear right seat and let it sit for like 5 minutes. Then plugged everything back in, hit the brake which reboot the car. Haven't driven around yet or anything, but if I have trouble I'll...

    LTE Issues

I have the exact same problem, happens intermittently, usually in the morning when I leave for work after the car sitting all night. sometimes takes over an hour to reconnect. I sent an email to technical support over a week ago, but have heard nothing.

Pen that’s safe to keep in the car?

I keep a space pen in the car myself, and I live in Florida. Never had a problem.

How does previous car experience match up with Model 3 experience

Kind of a biased poll. Why is it “same or better”? Why not have at least one option of model 3 best car I’ve ever owned?

    How to install homelink module?

Interesting, either they left it off of yours, or more likely they have stopped including the bracket. I have an extra one (Because I thought it wouldn’t be there on my car, but it was). DM me if you want to buy it.

    How to install homelink module?

This kind of thing drives me nuts. “It has been decided...it can’t be done by mobile service”. No, it can be done by mobile service, they just decided they won’t do it, and they don’t give a reasonable explanation why. Way to put the customer first. The way Tesla has handled the homelink...

    Right amount of tint?

I did it that way and I see just fine out of mine, but I live in South Florida, where the heat makes it a necessity. The front windshield tint is clear, it just blocks UV rays. Sides and rear are dark, but easy to see through from the inside.

    Right amount of tint?

Get the darkest legal ceramic tint all around, including windshield.

    How to install homelink module?

It does not pop up after an update. When I installed mine the mobile service guy tried just pushing a new update remotely, it did not work. It requires someone to actually plug into the car with a laptop and change the configuration. My car had at least three updates from the time I installed...

    How to install homelink module?

It’s literally just plugging in a stock piece of equipment to a stock plug and sliding it into a stock clip which is already on the car. It’s not a mod.

    How to install homelink module?

It can be done with Mobile service, because that is how I did it. Installed myself and had mobile service come out. He plugged a laptop into a port under the drivers side dash to activate it. Computer showed it was active but it didn’t show on the dash. Then he spent an hour and a half...

Homelink service appointment... still no homelink

I’m glad you are posting this. It perfectly encapsulates the problems with tesla. Fantastic cars, horrible service. Everyone I know who has a Tesla has a story like this. It really shouldn’t be this hard. How they have handled homelink has been a total disaster.

Mystery plug under frunk, near front bumper

Hmm, I didn’t think to get a picture of that. Next time I pull the frunk I’ll let you know. Do you have a link to the schematics? I’d be interested to look through them.

Mystery plug under frunk, near front bumper

When I had my front bumper off of my M3 to install the homelink module, I noticed there is an extra plug which attaches to nothing. It’s near the homelink plug. Anyone know what this is for? My guess is it will plug into the slow speed speaker which may eventually be required? The space...

Homelink service appointment... still no homelink

You can buy one off of eBay and install, but it will not recognize it right away. I did this and scheduled mobile service to come and activate it. He plugged his laptop into the car to enable it. Then it took him an hour and half of unplugging and resetting the car to get the icon to appear...

Homelink service appointment... still no homelink

I just had mobile service come to activate mine (I installed it myself with an eBay unit). Took about 30 seconds to hook the computer up and change the software. Then he spent an hour and half trying to get the icon to appear. Basically he disconnected the 12vt battery, then the high voltage...

    Home Link Automatic Garage Opener

Yes, but I actually have the physical device installed, I just need to go to the service center. Through Tesla, they first ship the device to the service center, then the service center calls you to make an appointment. It’s been more than 2 months and that hasn’t happened. Also, in some ways...

    Home Link Automatic Garage Opener

Well, there are many reasons. Some people Don’t live near a service center. Also, tesla has been very slow in filling these orders. In my case I did order it from Tesla, in June. I then emailed them to ask if mobile Service could install. A month later I received a reply that they had no...

    Home Link Automatic Garage Opener

Remove the bumper as detailed here: On mine, which is a performance, the clip which holds the module was there: Module just slides in and clips on: The wire is taped behind the bracket which the clip is mounted on. Just loop it around, plug it in, and reinstall bumper. Voila...

    Home Link Automatic Garage Opener

Did you need to take it to the service center or did they do it remotely? I installed one from eBay and tried to get my mobile service guy to do it remotely but it didn’t work. Also, did they charge anything to do the reconfiguration?

    Remove HomeLink Module?

It requires a software update to work. However, the mobile service techs can do it. Technically they can do it remotely, but they might not.

    Remove HomeLink Module?

It’s right under the front bumper in the center of the car. So, if you can remove the bumper it’s simple to pull the module. definitely worth doing. Here is my car with the bumper removed. I’ve circled where the homelink module is located. That is the clip where is goes (My Car doesn’t have...

Tesla's Tesla Trade In is Broken

They did the same thing to me, offered me 33K for my LR RW from last year when I was buying a new P3D+. It’s disappointing that they accept the KBB price for any other car, but lowball their own previous customers. Really doesn’t make you feel like a valued customer. I used the cargurus App...

    Homelink Installed at/before Delivery?

I picked up my Model 3 performance June 20, didn’t realize homelink was no longer included (as it was in my Model 3 LR). Ordered the homelink June 28. Immediately emailed them to ask if I could have it shipped to me directly because my local mobile service guy says he can install it. July 24...

    Latest Price Drop Discussion

I get it, I did the same thing, but bought in June, so it’s even more of a burn. My advice is just enjoy the car. Prices are always going to change, so as long as you were happy with your purchase at the time of purchase, don’t worry about it. I can buy a gallon of milk today and drink it, or...

How to remove rear "shelf" speaker grille

Mobile service guy came today, he pried the two clips in the front that hold the piece to the metal off with his fingers, then reached between the felt piece and the metal for a while. He said there was a loose clip under there which was supposed to be secured with tape, and he resecured it...

Model 3 -- Inside the top of the trunk

I have the same cardboard looking thing in my performance which i took delivery on June 20. I contacted Tesla support through the chat to ask if it was supposed to be the window thing. They said that the cardboard is the standard now. Also, the support person called it the third brake light...
