UK and Ireland Marketplace - For Sale / Wanted / Free

Morning all Now that the car is sold I have a spare set of 4 21 inch carbon turbine wheels to sell which have relatively new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres fitted and TPMS. They are unmarked. Note they are the v2 turbines with the plastic nut covers rather than the old ones without. Pictures...

UK and Ireland Marketplace - For Sale / Wanted / Free

If you are prepared to haggle and they are genuine Tesla Model S plus new tyres I am interested. I already have a set and fancy another for winter tyres. I paid a lot less than £4,500 for the first set (to replace my chocolate turbines)

    Interior Upgrade / Re-Trim

Mine was Q4 2019, Tesla did the free supercharging in the UK for Model S purchases for that quarter only. Non transferrable, when I or the car go, it goes too. Honestly its the only reason I still have it; I do really want a new Range Rover but with free fuel I will drive this until the doors...

Mounted wrong size wheels - they’re now permanently stuck to the car. Disaster [resolved]

I guess we are all kind of fascinated by now… (sorry for your pain). Are you saying there is a lip where the red arrow is partially down the hub which has fouled on the inside of the wheel? (PS this is just a generic Model 3 wheel hub photo). I would still advocate trying to take the entire...

Mounted wrong size wheels - they’re now permanently stuck to the car. Disaster [resolved]

I would get an angle grinder out and cut the spokes off then carefully cut a slot down the centre which would allow it to open up. Failing that take off suspension arms and get it done off the car. Pulling about when it’s on jacks or stands will result in damage to your health.

    Autopilot lock out for speeding

…and on mine at least you don’t have to stop and turn off to get off the naughty step. Just knock it into park at the next traffic lights then back to drive. Seems to reset it and give you back AP.

Ah that makes sense. and to be fair to Best Western their branding has been stripped off it. The in car map still shows full facilities.

So, just stopped at the Colchester (Marks Tey) SC right now. It is in the car park of a tired old hotel where you used to be able to get a coffee and go to the loo. I walked up to the front door, walked in and got accosted by a concierge asking me what I wanted. I said a coffee and the loo...

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

I usually have it on % since the range number is so made up! With the relative proliferation of Superchargers in Southern England I usually just aim to charge at around 5-10% to minimise stops. Running 10%-70% charge seems to minimise my waiting time.

    Interior Upgrade / Re-Trim

I will grab a photo later but when it was new there was a big fold in the centre of the seat (should not be there). They “fixed” it at a service visit but then it has just sagged and sagged and now looks horrid. I am only 85Kg before the funny comments come in! I could ask Tesla to look at it...
  13. M

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

359 over nearly 29,000 miles in the UK. Not sure why I am so bad at this... Means a max range of 278 miles vs the advertised 341 at new, 18% worse. 21 inch Arachnid wheels I suppose don't help. Most of the time it is motorway at 77 mph which again is a bit naughty.

    Model S Charging Speed Increase

Afternoon, My Model S ( 2019 Raven Performance) has never charged at more than 135 kW since it was new, regardless of what charger. Then a few weeks ago I plugged in and got 184 kW.... This has then never repeated and we are back to 130 kW on V2 or V3 chargers. Any ideas? Thanks

    Interior Upgrade / Re-Trim

Afternoon all. I am in the fortunate position of having bought one of the first Model S Raven Performance models in November 2019, fortunate since it was the first of the next gen but it was the last quarter they ever gave away free supercharging for life. So basically I am now stuck with this...

    calibration after windscreen replacement?

Evening all, My model S got a nice big crack today from a stone thrown up by a lorry in the next lane. Given the calibration option is now in the menu do I just get auto glass round then calibrate it myself? Thanks

    Road surface feedback

Get your wheels balanced. Tesla wheels are chocolate, hit a small pothole that an Audi would laugh at and it may buckle or flat spot your wheels. Best case a wheel weight worst case £70 to have it straightened. Ask me how I know……

Rear Motor Disabled-Still OK to Drive

Sorry to hear that. We are now 8 months on and only 3,000 miles more done but no more visits to the service centre for me since that one. The new rear motor works just the same as the old one did. So blisteringly fast. Still I am now doing my weekly day in London again so that's 200 miles a...

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

Well 6 service centre visits and off the road each time in the first 6 months would be hard to beat. Just go sit in a Taycan, then slam the door shut. It feels like granite. Every time I do that in my model S I fear something will fall off. Tesla isn't a plucky upstart that we all have to...
  21. M

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

It's better only because the fuel is free. Against an advertised 350 miles range I get an average of 260. About the same as a Porsche Taycan (which is much better built). If I didn't have free fuel I would have sold the car 6 months ago, honestly. Won't ever buy another. Unlike my petrol...

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

I am very impressed with all the consumption I read on here... With my 2019 Oct Raven Performance Model S I have a 378 lifetime average. Mixture of motorway (75mph) and short local trips. I don't drive without aircon or heated seats etc because what is the point. That makes my full range 264...

Full Self Driving Hugs Center Line

Mine hugs the left hand side of the lane (I am in the UK where we drive on the left). That's great for normal driving. But when you are on a two or three lane road in traffic and are not in the far left lane then you are generally too close to the vehicle on your left. In real life this means...

Rear Motor Disabled-Still OK to Drive

2019 built August, delivered October. 8,000 miles. Needed a new rear engine (!). All covered by warranty. I am mad at Tesla as their build quality just isn’t there, coming from an RS6 there is just no comparison. But to be fair to them: I firstly called Dartford service, they were no help...

Rear Motor Disabled-Still OK to Drive

I have the same issue. Raven Model S Performance. Was trailered away and now awaiting a new rear motor... Very disappointing. It only got new front drive shafts 3 weeks ago. These are not well built cars.

    Rear motor disabled

Sorry for the thread resurrection! I have a 7 month old Raven Model S Performance here in the UK. I got into it a couple of mornings ago and got the dreaded Rear Motor Disabled message. It would let me drive in FWD only at slow speeds. No reboots cured it and it was towed away. Tesla got it...

UK For Sale / Wanted / Free [closed for new items]

I have the Tesla branded Weathertech throughout the car including the boot. You can simply bend it out of the way to get into the cavity. I have not found it an issue. Because the boot liner one is so massive it is a little more flexible.

2020.8.1 Another useless update for most of us

I am in the UK (Raven S Performance) and with this update so far I see: - Traffic lights - Trash bins (lots and lots) - Road arrows I am hoping it fixes the phantom braking on the motorway which is really making it rather unsafe in Autopilot. 75mph down to 50mph for no reason at all is making...

Anyone ordered a Anderson A2 direct?

I ordered from them, install was faultless, really nice guy (they usually have their own), no extra charges. Would recommend (and have just bought a second as I like it so much!).

    P100D Energy usage?

I have a Raven Model S Performance (P100DL Raven I guess). Mine is 402 lifetime but 500-ish around town. Maybe I should have mentioned the model earlier ;-) I do have the turbine wheels which I think do not help with consumption.

    Anderson A2 Charger

There is a company in the UK doing old fashioned petrol pumps as EV chargers. I found it once but lost it. But I do remember they were around £10,000 ;-)
  34. M

    Anderson A2 Charger

I have the Andersen and it works great, no issues at all. The Wifi connection on it is very strong to the AP inside the house. The new Model S parked beside the charger was so useless at connecting to the same AP that I put an AP on the outside wall of the house (don't worry it was a Unifi one...

    Roundabouts and FSD

I will fully agree it was crazy expensive at over £5,500 just to get the NOA to work on motorways. But like some of the others I am a geek and love the latest stuff. Ironically it was driving a friends one with FSD that made me purchase it for mine a week after getting mine delivered without...

    P100D Energy usage?

I am amazed by all of you in the 300s. My raven S perf with the big turbine wheels gets 400 average over first 4,000 miles. Mainly highway miles but it has been between 2 and 10 degrees here since I bought it. Short slow journeys are around 500 and highway around 380. Perhaps it is the...

Which home wall charger - for a pain free charge?

Well, that would require SMETS2. Which I waited 3 months for the guy to install, then he said my supplier was Iresa who don’t support smart meters and refused to commission it. My supplier is actually Octopus. Octopus are now trying to sort it! So I currently have a dumb smart meter. But you...

    Roundabouts and FSD

Well, I did because: 1. I want them to continue developing it 2. I could afford to 3. But mostly it annoyed me when on the motorway I had to disengage TACC every time I overtook someone (often). Now with FSD and NOA enabled I can happily sit at my cruise speed, agree with the car by nudging...

    Roundabouts and FSD

From reading the above, does anyone's car on TACC or Autopilot adjust it's speed when the limit changes? Mine doesn't and would happily plough into a 30 at 60. The only time it has is when it was on autopilot exiting a motorway then it slowed down for the roundabout (at the lovely Grantham...

Which home wall charger - for a pain free charge?

Home charger was a no brainer for me. Yes I can drive and fill up for free at a Supercharger 20 miles away, but a full tank overnight costs me around £15 compared to £100 in my RS6 and I am not sitting in the car at 3am when it is charging ;-)
  42. M

Which home wall charger - for a pain free charge?

It works on my Model S, but I have not tested on a 3. If someone lives in Suffolk with a 3 they are welcome to come and test it!
  43. M

Which home wall charger - for a pain free charge?

I bought an Andersen (Andersen ev). It is smart so you can schedule things etc but the real bonus is it looks great. I have a lovely Edwardian red brick house and now have a nice dark wood box mounted to the outside rather than a black / white plastic lump with flashing blue lights which all...

What Wh/mi are you getting in this wet weather?

Average 399. Model S Raven Performance. 2,700 miles since new in November. Like others I don't intend to change anything now that I am electric, so aircon is at 22 degrees as things are cold, heated seats and steering wheel on, loud music and always in Ludicrous. Most of those miles are...

Tesla customer purchase hell on a new car, i need advice please!!

My West Drayton experience was terrible too. Fortunately the only issue I have is the “leather” coming apart on the driver’s seat for which I have an appointment in January to get fixed. But I did hang around for 4+ hours generally being ignored by everyone. When you spend over £100,000 on a...

    Obsolescence incoming (already)

I actually think that the real thing which will hold up values is superchargers. My experience so far is that almost all other chargers are single or <4 cables per point. I have never waited at a Supercharger but almost every other CCS charger I have turned up at has been full, usually with...

2019.40.2.2 Is set on crippling AP and autosteer !

Can I just check please. I have a Raven Model S Performance built October 19 (I am in Europe). I have 40.2.1 and FSD. It does nag me re: hands on the wheel but it doesn't feel like every 15 seconds. The annoying thing is that really you cannot just keep your hands on the wheel, you have to...
