Speed limit and warming chime

I took my M3H into Tesla last Monday and they said that this had, they think, been disabled by Tesla but there is no official notes on this from Tesla.
Not great TBH!
Just been told the same thing, was due to take my car in on the 29/04/24 but have now cancelled. Seems like a bizarre decision to disable this feature. I presume that some sort of functionality will be restored in the spring update 🤞

What is even more weird is that they have left the sound/mute icon on the speed limit icon. Its as if they wanted to stop it working quickly so just deleted the sound file for the bong.

Even weirder than that is that I turned the chimes off on every trip when they were working but it just bugs me that it’s not working now 😂
I'm the same... I always turned it off, but I am now annoyed that it doesn't work on the odd occasion if I wanted it to.

It also annoys me as that functionality took away the ability to set TACC/Autosteer speed to the current speed limit when changing zones.

So, having been aimlessly scrolling I saw an article about intelligent speed assist. Interestingly this article claims that the UK opted out from the EU requirements for ISA, so I wonder if that is why Tesla have done a half hearted job of removing the chime...

If it is a case that the speed limiter doesn't need to be on the speed limit sign, I hope they will reinstate the "tap the sign to set the TACC/AutoSteer to the speed limit"

I noticed at the end of last week, that with AP set 60mph (current speed), my speed will drop to 40 mph and then to 30mph but will not automatically increase when the limits change back up. It’s always done it in the past.

It must be a change in 2024.8.x

Speed limit chime still working

Has it? For as long as I can remember, when passing a speed limit sign that was lower, AP would reduce speed automatically, but I always had to tap the screen or hold the stalk down to manually adjust when encountering a speed sign that was higher than what I had set my current speed at?

I suppose it's a safety design to avoid having the car accelerating without user input/consent (the same way lane change is mandated), in case the car reads the sign incorrectly (new speed was for the other lane for instance)?..

Might be part of FSD which I have. Never did it on TACC alone but always worked on AP.

Switch it off on a daily basis ?, how annoying is that going to be, my wife and I did a test drive in a BYD seal, that beep going 1mph over the speed limit did both our heads in, and on that car you had to disable it every drive, 4 menus in as the OS is shocking, annoying enough for my misses not to buy that car!.

They have to default to on each time you start the car to comply with regulations. However at least Tesla have made this much easier of just tapping an always visible icon. I think some of the other makes will make it easier but just haven't yet redesigned their UI to do so.
