Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

Received the Teins from @tom @ eas earlier this month. Got the car back yesterday from the shop. Only had about 20 minutes or so to experience the differences. At the moment they are set to 10F/12R. First impressions are that the ride is smoother. Much less jarring. I plan on a longer drive...

Idle Q: 2020 MY door pockets flocked or .. when did that happen?

I was searching for something else when I noticed the door pocket organizers, of various features etc. What caught my eye was one model said ”these would fit if your pockets are flocked” and “wont if they are not” Anybody happen to know what model year that started? My 2020 doesn’t have flocked...

Solved: Road Noise & Front Wind Noise

‘20 MY owner chiming in. Love the simple efforts that are yielding results. I’ve complete the weather stripping of the doors today. The leading edge was my only deficient area. The doors already had a second seal I put on a few months ago ( no sure who’s kit it was) Quick 65-80mph test, and...

2022 Model Y LR Wind Noise.

I have felt this before - didnt know what to attribute it too. Having said that. I’m 99% sure I havent felt it since adding the second set of seals to the vehicle (frunk doors, trunk) in an effort to reduce tire/road noise.

    Auto Wipers & 2022.36.6 Update

Done: installed two Tesla Model Y (& Model 3) Rear Seat Folding Table

Yep, propping a 13” laptop there is OK if your attending meetings, watching videos etc. Typing would be uncomfortable quickly. Tilting the seat back another 5-10 degrees helps. However a tablet with keyboard works well ( also good for entertaining kiddos )

Done: installed two Tesla Model Y (& Model 3) Rear Seat Folding Table

I've seen this mentioned around here (especially WRT working in the car) before but no installs. I pulled the trigger on two and have gotten them fully installed. Bought them from tesmanian (undisclosed bonus, they include the wireless charging pads). Some notes: 1. Slowest part: The...

remote laptop work in vehicle accessories

Good is relative of course. Given the layout of the backseat, the wife and I tried two options in the backseat (other than ones lap) Lapdesk: LapGear Home Office Lap Desk with Device Ledge, Mouse Pad, and Phone Holder (Sorry about the formatting) and the Avantree Neeto. We both agreed this...

    Yoke steering Model Y

Cool your enjoying it. At first when I saw the yoke I was indifferent, but its growing on me (And the Mrs too). However I cant show her your pic as she’d demand I illuminate my front floor mats to look like purple quilted leather :)

Before I forget adigitalnomad.net (YouTube) are a couple working remote from a model X. The wife has/had a laptop rig she worked from in the backseat.

remote laptop work in vehicle accessories

Following up - on the folder in the backseat: Wont work. The armrest depth and angle and the armrest on the doors doesnt work at all. I will probably add a lapdesk to the mix to try in the back. Wide enough for laptop plus a couple of accessories, and setup/angled to sit on legs. The latter...

remote laptop work in vehicle accessories

So following up - have had a few chances to try two of the options I mentioned. First, the Tesla Model 3 Model Y Foldable Laptop Working Desk. Second a "Neetto Laptop Height Adjustable Bed Table, Portable Lap Desk with Foldable Legs". I want the former, she the latter. Here's my typical setup...

  29. R

remote laptop work in vehicle accessories

Short answer yes. What Ive done so far has been laptop or iPad Pro (w KB attached) in lap. There appear to be 5 options at the moment, excluding a lap desk ( which could work) if you work remote in the car: Yep the Falcon 420. Evannex has an ABS plastic competitor to the falcon (unclear if it...

Best Sunshade For Windshield And Roof?

In my case, lacking a garage and having many trees (and squirrels) I went with this ”MITALOO Car Windshield Snow Cover with 4 Layers Protection, Frost Ice Removal Sun Shade for Winter Protection, Extra Large and Thick Windshield Ice Co” It covers the windshield so the car rarely gets warm...

Nope. Air dry or a quick 45mph trip around the area. The car wash is a wax too, so that likely helps.

    Car Wash

My two cents on the matter: Since I had my Y July ‘20) coated with ceramic, I’ve been avoiding any auto car washes. Finally got around to trying the waterless car wash stuff from Meguilars. Took about 20 mins, looks great. I also have no garage. In between washes I just hose the car off. Quick...

Road Trip: Stowing bike inside / both wheels off?

My .02: Use the hitch, save yourself the headache of stowing 4 peoples stuff and a bike. The normal speeds people drive on I-95 will have a bigger impact on range than a bike. Kick on AP and enjoy the ride.
  34. R

Will my bicycle and family fit?

Loose leaf thoughts: 1. A bike can be locked to a rack, and the rack locked to the hitch. 2. I wouldn’t know you had a $5k MTB unless you told me :) I suspect the overlap of people who know the cost of the bike and would want to steal it is zero. 3. I wouldn’t buy a 7 seater Y, simply because...

will a SC install a tow hitch after taking delivery?

Yeah, sounds like a call or email to the SC to find out.
  36. R

will a SC install a tow hitch after taking delivery?

Short answer: yes. You can have Tesla install it before or after delivery. Uhaul doesn't list hitches yet for M-Y yet (although they do for S and 3). I doubt they'll touch something they don't have explicit instructions for (even though the 3 and Y install process is really close)
  37. R

    ECO Hitch install costs?

Sure, I've seen i1 Teslas video among others, and they did indicate 3 hours in the shop. But $141/hr shop rate. Ugh, I'm in the wrong industry :)
  38. R

    ECO Hitch install costs?

For those of you who have the eco hitch for your M-Y, what's the general install cost? I just got an email quote from a local eco hitch dealer of $425 to install ?!?!?? Thats kinda crazy.

Input welcome - RPMtesla wood veneer console overlay

Well, it turned out I found some damage I hadn't noticed in the overlay on the section over the cupholders. How it happened, I have zero clue. So ... ripped all three pieces out, and ordered some Tesmanian covers in gray. Sigh. Loved the look of the wood, hated the warping I could never eliminate.

Input welcome - RPMtesla wood veneer console overlay

Hi community - I need some ideas. I bought RPM Tesla’s “real wood” console overlay last summer. Got it installed. Had some adherence issues, mostly solved by clamps, and creative levering where I cant clamp. However, one area I thought I had nixed keeps popping up, no pun intended. See...

Question about stereo system in Model Y

Contributing as a non BMW owner. The Y sound system, IMHO, sounds on par or slightly better than the premium ML system in my Lexus LS460. Better than my Avalon Limited.

Renting out your Tesla on Turo is a bad idea, did the math..

For those reading about speeding stories, owners can set the max speed of the vehicle via the app. Now preventing drug dealers is a whole different story.

    RPMTesla Padded Leather Armrest Cover

I have a black diamond pattern cover on order. Nothing wrong with the OEM armrest - just prefer more padding and protect the original finish. I did the same in my Avalon.
