I wonder if I lucked out. My car was July 2020 with just over 18k miles. Carbuyerusa gave me $60k for it. New one was locked in pre multiple price hikes and total out the door was $58k and change (with same options as previously)

I am/was in same boat as you. I recently sold my July 2020 MYLR and bought a new Nov 2022 (as I posted elsewhere, I made money by doing this!). The 2022 is MUCH better in all respects than the 2020. The build quality is perfect - no misaligned panels (the 2020 had panels all over the place)...

FWIW, I sold my 2020 Model Y for more than the cost of the new, exactly the same 2022 model Y I just bought. i.e. I made money by buying a new Tesla. Crazy! In NJ there is no sales tax on EVs (one good thing about NJ) so it makes it much more acheiveable. Reg is only around $300-something.

Well the decision is selling at the minimum difference between new car price and sale of old model. I think I’m at the sweet spot and waiting will either lead to lower selling price or higher cost of new car or both. But I want to ensure the technology is on par or better.

Oh hadn't logged in for a while, just saw this. There were no problems, the valets know how to deal with Tesla. I did put in Valet mode and had to leave the key card in the car, but they knew what to do. No problems getting off either.

My steering wheel wasn’t centered either. SC (in NJ) fixed it without any issues or pushback.

My MY went in for post-purchase fixes last Monday (Labor day!) morning. Door panels weren't aligned, steering wheel wasn't quite centered and tail light had moisture. They fixed everything including the frunk, which the also realigned, and was ready for pickup the same day! No pushback on...

Can't see any non matching paint in person, only in pics. Maybe it's because of the shape of the panels, they reflect differently. But in person, it looks pretty good.

Just picked up my Model Y, VIN 33XXX, white, black int, 20" induction, +tow hitch. Car was nearly perfect in every way. Right rear door could do with a slight alignment, frunk is ever so slightly depressed, but not worth worrying about, and just noticed condensation in right taillight. Right...

My sales person said my white/black/20/hitch/no FSD is on it's way to Springfield. I never received any notification on vin nor does it appear on my account, but she said the vin was 33XXX. Yay.

I wonder how the comparison of lease vs buy works out in NJ, where we don't pay sales tax and get $5000 credit no matter whether lease or buy... In three years time a second hand buyer won't get the credit, so if credit is still being offered in 3 years (who knows), buyer is more likely to buy...

I have exactly same order, but no FSD. Based in NJ, ordered July 15. Hopefully that's a good sign for hitches on east coast?!
