Checking in...anyone still waiting for their eMMC refund check from Tesla?

Bumping up....seeing I just found this thread. I am currently seeing if my CC can do anything to reverse charges. I filled out the form back in March, did not get any correspondence. No email. I have no phone number to call, nor can anyone at the local SC that did the work help me. My total...

Staggered P85+ 21" wheels in Shadow Chrome with fairly new tires.

Yes you are correct, they are 245/35 on the front. My mistake. Unfortunately, they are sold to another local buyer (and at a fairly low price for the refinished wheels and newish tires).

Staggered P85+ 21" wheels in Shadow Chrome with fairly new tires.

Couldn't edit the original post, but tires are Michellin Pilot Sport in 235/35 and 265/35 sizes.

Staggered P85+ 21" wheels in Shadow Chrome with fairly new tires.

I am selling my 21" wheels and tires from my 2013 Model S P85+. These are staggered width wheels! I've had the car and the wheels since new. In Summer 2015, the original silver wheels were refinished (powdercoated) in BBS Shadow Chrome. Also in Fall of 2015, both front and rear tires were...

WANTED: 21" turbines set, grey ideally

I've got a set for sale refinished in BBS Shadow chrome, staggered setup with a new set of tires mounted with less than 2000 miles on them. I can sell with or without tires. I'm in Chicago area and willing to ship. Tried posting pics here, but having a hard time with the site: pics are here...

Powdercoated. Yeah, first glance I didn't like the tuner style on the car. Now that I've gotten used to them, they look right to me, especially in the 20" size. I think a thinner spoke CE28n would look better and less tuner styled. I can't get over the weight of the wheels though, the...

    Suspension Problem on Model S

Crap...worried about this on the last couple of Lexus cars I had...now I have to worry about it on the Tesla too? Google "ball joint failure Lexus"

Wow....Work wheels look great on the Model S! I'd love to find a set of 20" or maybe even 21" Volk CE28n

Had my set of 21" OEMs redone in BBS shadow chrome (pics don't do it justice). Found a set of 20" TE37s in good offsets to fit. Quite a bit lighter than the OEM wheels. May end up selling the 21s. I had then redone in BBS Shadow chrome as well. Just need to find a set of center caps...

New Meetup Group for Chicago Area Tesla Owners and Enthusiasts

Just joined! Quick question though. Why have a Meet Up group? Why can't Chicago area and Midwest events be planned and announced here? I joined the other MeetUp group that branched off over a year ago and haven't been to one event they've planned....because it's too hard to keep up with all...

Info Help needed ASAP for stretch between Columbia,MO & Independence SC

Made it into Houston last night. The drive from St. Charles to Independence was a little white knuckle; but the wife did well. She drove that leg and we got to Independence with about 47 rated miles. Ran into quite a few other Tesla owners at almost all the Superchargers.....Tesla owners are...

    Road Trip!!! Coming to Houston.

Made it into Houston last night. Drive was much easier than I ever thought it would be.....definitely easier than ICE. Driving through Dallas, Houston, and Denton was definitely eye-opening. Now just need to find where we'll be charging a couple of times this week. After I get my fill of...

Info Help needed ASAP for stretch between Columbia,MO & Independence SC

Again, thank you very much!!! With your last post and what I just read through on this thread: http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/showthread.php/46982-Supercharger-Columbia-MO/page6, I'm quite a bit less nervous. Now the only thing that worries me is my wife's and kids' weights alongside the 100+...

Info Help needed ASAP for stretch between Columbia,MO & Independence SC

FlasherZ, thank you for the quick response! My mistake, I should've wrote Columbia.... after 13 years of marriage, I listen to what my wife says in snippets. Our trip calls for a stop at the St.Charles supercharger (which is really our "point A"). If we do a full range charge there and keep...

Customized OEM wheel swap this past weekend

Hey Sam! Glad to see you here! I was planning on some custom wheels for this car, but having a hard time finding a good, lightweight Volk-wish wheel for this car. I'd love to get a nice concave 21" CE28n (or hell, even a 20"). Are you in a Model S yourself? - - - Updated - - - I used a 21mm...

Info Help needed ASAP for stretch between Columbia,MO & Independence SC

My family and I will be driving south from Chicago area and have multiple stops to make on our way down to St. Louis. Ultimately we will end up in Houston, but with the route we need to take, it isn't the prescribed one by our MS navigation. The route we need to take puts us on a path where...

    Road Trip!!! Coming to Houston.

Hello Houston area owners. Well, I'll be coming around the mountain (actually across the Plaines from Chicago) and visiting Houston for a little over a week. I'll be coming to visit my sister who lives out in the Heights area. A few years back I was on a project that had me in Greenspoint...

Customized OEM wheel swap this past weekend

Only color I'd be interested in doing it in would be a deep red....however, I'm trying not to go with the sporty look. I can't think of another color to do that wouldn't 'overly pop' on the car. I was thinking a deep bronze color, maybe with bronze metal flake or a bright silver like the...

Customized OEM wheel swap this past weekend

I had my OEM 21" wheels cleaned up some existing curb rash and decided to get them powdercoated a different color. When we configured the car in 2013, we went with the bright silver instead of the dark gunmetal. This is how the car looked soon after we got the car on Tesla's original low...

Chicago winter wheels for my Model S

I just mounted the BMW winter wheels back on the car today. Yes, the BMW center caps are 'off'....actually, they have been covered with carbon fiber look vinyl. 5, 6, 7, and 8 series OEM wheels fit decent. Rear offsets are a little high depending on width of the wheels; but nothing that a 5...

Teslas Now Being Delivered with Turn Signal and Cruise Control Stalks Swapped!

If the connectors and wiring haven't changed, I'd love to attempt a retrofit/replacement of the earlier versions. I may have to look into doing this....all my other cars have the turn signal higher and even after a year with the MS, I still haven't gotten used to the placement.

Black fingerprints on headliner-How to clean it off?

I did the same thing to mine.....black grease and dirt from muck from a tire. I used a Tide stick and a wet cloth to wash and dab out the grease (without smearing it).

First long-ish distance trip for the MS on its 1st bday....to Wisc. Dells

Yeah, 160 there plus whatever driving while in the Dells (couple of beer runs, dinner run, grocery store run, and then downtown Delton on Sunday to the alligator farm, upside down whitehouse, etc.) ....need to make sure I have enough juice to make it back to Madison after the weekend.

    Tesla Model S Coupe Rendering

If it was going to be that much of a copy of the Model S, I'd rather have and pay for a copy in wagon form. It'd be a nice compliment to the current Model S, whereas if I had the coupe and the sedan...I'd have to ask 'what's the point?' everytime I stepped into the garage.

No styrofoam cups in my Model S from now on.

I was just going to start a new thread about what happened to me last week.....similar situation. Full cup of large McDonald's coffee in their styrofoam cup sitting in the passenger side cup holder. I had to step out of the car to drop something off, when I jumped back into the driver seat...

First long-ish distance trip for the MS on its 1st bday....to Wisc. Dells

So this coming weekend is our family and friends' 7th annual summer pilgrimage to Wisc. Dells (Wilderness Resort). This year we will be taking up our P85+ Model S. It will be our and the car's first single long distance trip. Over the course of the year of ownership we have run the 'tank'...

    ohare auto body in Chicago

Saleen announces their version of a Model S

Don't worry, they'll probably powedercoat OEM brakes to a "Saleen Signature" color (my guess is orange or yellow) and then slap a heat resistant "Saleen" sticker on them....and then change out the pads with some 'race' pads alongside with slotted and drilled rotors that will warp after half a...

Saleen announces their version of a Model S

I'm not looking forward to this....this will be a gaudy atrocity. American tuners' visions of aesthetic modification is unappealing (save for APR widebody on an S2000). They should stick with big bodied/bloated muscle cars....not get into a car, that although is big, pulls it off with lean...

    Time For Some Destination Chargers!

Great America? Woodfield Mall? Gibson's (for dining patrons)? Lamb's Farm Chicago Botanic Gardens? Thoughts? If these are desirable destinations, I'd be up for trying to petition them to think of EV owning patrons.

Model S and Model T Race

If this is the same race, I think this took place in October. The Model T forums were up on this when it happened. BTW, there forum is much like their cars....bare bones: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/331880/395337.html?1382070989

I have a lot of salt on the model S, what's the best way to wash it?

As a former detailer, if it has dried salt on the paint, I don't touch the car until I can get a proper wash done. The caked on salt needs to be rinsed off before anything touches the car....give the car a heavy (minimum two rinses, low pressure rinse is best). The first rinse will rinse off...

Who is driving their MS's through the cold?

I don't know if it's counterintuitive....I'd say it's down right logical. With gravity in the picture, as air gets colder AND less moisture in the air, the other components of air should compact more as it gets closer to sea level. So here's a noodle-er, in a vacuum, would dry air or...

Work on lighting lift gate appliqué begins

I'm really liking this idea. BTW, have you looked at how Lexus does their illuminated door sill covers? Would their solution work for the rear piece on our cars?

Who is driving their MS's through the cold?

Anthony, I think that may have been my issue yesterday. I took a lot of quick trips. I'm wondering how humidity and cold affect range; my assumption is that NE winters may get as cold as upper Midwest, but they aren't as dry. The dry air with the wind chill here makes the cold even colder.

I completely expected to get less range compared to summer, however, I was surprised to see the how much less range I got with yesterday's driving. With the salt on the road, patches of ice here and there, and other people not driving well, I don't push it on the streets. I drive very...

20" Winter wheel setup; tires thanks to Doc @ TireRack

Criticism doesn't bother me...so please be open. At the time I started looking for a winter set of wheels, I didn't like a lot of the options available nor did I like the price point for a set that I'd be using only 3 or 4 months of the year. Finding take off BMW wheels (which all modern BMW...
