[NY/NJ] Front fog headlight displaced: worth replacing?

Also, where did you purchase the part? I looked at the Parts Catalog but it seems you need to be a professional to buy some parts.

[NY/NJ] Front fog headlight displaced: worth replacing?

Do you think there is a chance I need a full bumper replacement? How was your bumper in your case?

😱 I really hope that is not the case!

[NY/NJ] Front fog headlight displaced: worth replacing?

Yes, the plastic around the wheel should be able to be put back. For the fog light, I am asking estimates. If someone has a similar experience, I would love to be compare what they were charged before!

[NY/NJ] Front fog headlight displaced: worth replacing?

Today, on the I-78, there was a big roll of plastic fence on the road. I tried to avoid it but I turned late and while I avoided most of it, it still touched my car. The car does not have much damage: bottom/fog light is displaced (see video) the plastic surrounding of the tired/wheel is off...

Model Y rattle - anybody has similar problem?

Same for me! If the right seat is reclined, I have no rattle! But I have one as soon as it's up! It's driving me crazy!

2023 Model Y rattles in the back

Hey, hi, that's my video. The noise is gone when the seat is folded/reclined. But always here when the seat is in the normal position. Honestly, I do not know what I am the most pissed off: that I paid $7k for a FSD I have been promised since 3 years or that a $60k+ car is making stupid rattle...

The rattle came back for me. I have no rattle when the seat is folded. I tried to check the headrest but it was not it. Ugh.

Deer has an intimate encounter with MYLR

Had a similar encounter. Took 2 months to get fixed. Cost was about $12k I believe and I paid the $1000 deductible.

Being to meticulous on the issues I found on my model y?

The misalignments are not so choking. But the scratches and paint issues are definitely not good for a new car. Considering the scratches, I would probably not have taken the car (e.g. scratches on plastic and windshield looks fishy).

Survey: is the model Y the “perfect” all around EV?

The car is really nice. My girlfriend just bought a Ioniq 5, and I can see how the Ioniq could also be seen as the "perfect vehicle": it's cheaper, quieter, is fun to drive, and has carplay. Tesla wins on the charging network and autopilot but loses on build quality, customer services, and...

    Snippiness 2.0

I agree that the law of physics applies and always wins. To accurately measure speed (distance / time), you need to know accurately: 1. Distance: accurately calculate the time between two lane markers while in the water. Anything before is not really relevant and the drive probably slowed down...

Wow, I did not know we could know the speed of a vehicle based on water spraying! With so much accuracy! I feel blessed we have so many confident, smart people on this forum!

    Snippiness 2.0

"Evidence of the speed": do you know the speed the person was going at? "How deep was the water": did you go and measure it? I sincerely hope nobody will judge you the way you judge others online. The end for me on this thread, no need to discuss with people not even addressing facts. There is...

    Snippiness 2.0

I do not deny the law of physics. I am just claiming how judgemental people are on this forum and how quick they are to bash OP. There are some facts: Tesla admitted prior design issues that led to the same error, and it took 2 years to recognize it Tesla cars have poor build quality, and it's...

    Snippiness 2.0

Tesla "oh yeah, there is a flaw in our cars" (note: it took them two years to admit it for something that is a pretty serious safety hazard) Forum fanboys: "😱 😱 omg it's the driver fault 😱 😱" I am not judging the car and if this is the driver's fault. It's very hard to judge on a video...

lmao all the tesla fanboys here. Did he drive faster than I would? Yes Should a $60+k well-assembled car break into pieces at the first force applied to its parts?

    Noise from AC/heat pump?

Indeed. This is the first time I notice that sound! I have to say that I just drive the car, and maintain it (change filters, do tire rotation, etc.) but rarely check anything else.

    Noise from AC/heat pump?

Hi folks, For the past few days, I noticed some noise coming from the frunk of my 2020 Model Y LR. I put a service appointment and it's scheduled in 3 weeks. Any idea of where this could be coming from? Thanks!

1 month old model Y hit by other driver, is it totaled?

Considering the battery damage + all the cosmetic, I think this is very likely to be totalled.

Anyone hearing "SEGA" when the car boots up?

    I have a 2020 Model Y and I have Sonic.
  31. juli1

Anyone hearing "SEGA" when the car boots up?

Hi all, For months now, when I reboot the car (two buttons + pedal pressed) or after a software update, I hear the "SEGA" sound playing (the same as the one when I start the sonic game). Does that happen to other folks as well or just me?

Any other owners second guess if their next car should be another Tesla?

I like my Model Y but may buy a Rivian or Lucid next. The build quality is meh, with lots of service appointments after delivery. When I look at the price of Tesla now, I think I could get a better price with another brand. Not saying I will never buy a Tesla again but I will definitely look...

Family of 4 — used MX or new MY

My $0.02 If budget is top of mind: Model Y with the 7 seater option. If budget not important: Model X For Model Y, the cost of maintenance is low. In some state, registration can be expensive (it's $1000 for me in CO, would be about $2k for Model Y). Insurance, etc. will also be more...

    AltiMAX RT43 Installed today.

Question for folks that used the Altimax: did you feel the braking distance was different? Looking at the website and specifications, it seems that the breaking distance is quite longer for the Altimax compared to the Michelin. Do you think this is noticeable and did you notice a change? Thanks,

Tire replacement for Model Y - feedback on Cooper or General?

Interesting, they are marked as more quiet than the other tires available 🤔

Tire replacement for Model Y - feedback on Cooper or General?

I noticed that. However, due to my driving style (always on autopilot at low speed), I do not think it will affect me much. I am also based in Colorado so Winter Rating is important too. And the General seems to be quieter.

Tire replacement for Model Y - feedback on Cooper or General?

Hi all, Last week, I made Houston to Denver and on the way, one tire hit a nail. I got it plugged (see picture below) and was able to make it to Denver. I went to Tire Discount to check my tires and they told me the plug may damage the car and the tire may blow on the highway. They recommended...

    Another Model Y Accident

I just hit a deer two weeks ago. The difference is I was going at 45 mph in the mountains. See the post here Deer collision: good body shop in Denver? My estimate came at $4000 and the insurance told me it will be a low estimate and they will pay more once I am going into the shop. The real...

    Tesla body shop repairs

Unfortunately, there is more. The door has an impact, the front bumper was also impacted and the hood has some damage as well. You can also see the piece that surrounds the wheel has been damaged. Insurance told me it is going to cost more, I just hope it will not be too much.

    Tesla body shop repairs

Dang! So it might take 3 months to have the car back in shape (2 months for appointment + one month for repairs). I just hope the insurance will pay. So far, they quotes $4000 for the repairs and it seems low. Hope it will not get too high.

    Tesla body shop repairs

Hi all, I recently hit a deer with my Model Y (last Thursday). I called the insurance and it's covered. Deer collision: good body shop in Denver?

Thank you for your feedback. Honestly, I am amazed at the safety of the car. We were in the mountain, hit the deer at 45mph. We heard no noise, the car stayed almost straight. Nobody got injured in any sort and the car was still running. Autopilot is still working too!

Deer collision: good body shop in Denver?

Hi all, Yesterday night, a deer came out of nowhere and hit the car. The impact was at 45 mph so not too hard. The front bumper, the door, side panels are all touched/impacted. I am looking for a body shop in Denver. Any recommendation? Thanks!
