I have a 4-ton two-speed compressor (Carrier/Bryant) and it works fine with the SureStart, so I assume there must be other factors.

The Powerwall 2 has liquid thermal management, so at a minimum it has pumps and fans. I'm not sure if it has active cooling/heating or not. I put mine in the garage, and they're a lot quieter than my EV's are when they charge. The fans only kick in under load, and they're variable speed, but...

It could be something as simple as a supplier backlog for the 18's ... maybe Tesla predicted the wrong product mix.

I think it's likely I just happened to pick a configuration that's built and unassigned. If you ordered the same config and no VIN, I'd think that was super-weird.

I have never seen this issue. I am on v1.15, and have had my units since September.

I got Powerwall 1.15.0 today. There's nothing outwardly new about it in the app. I haven't investigated the commissioning wizard.

I haven't contacted my insurance company about it yet. I guess I'll get it all squared away after I get my Model 3, as I'll have to shop around anyway. $60 a year is quite a deal, though. I was expecting quite a lot more.

Multiple Powerwalls have multiple inverters. They just get paralleled. The DC powerwall is discontinued.

They were ultimately shipped and sold by Tesla, so regardless of whatever funny business is going on, they should be warrantied. Save that packing slip.

I can’t speak for others, but the service disconnect that Tesla put on the side of my house is a comically large commercial unit.

Tesla put a SureStart on my A/C at no cost to me. The thing works like magic. My unit was pulling well over 100A, I don't recall exactly, but now it's like 20A at start. The thing over-delivered. No more dimming lights and it's quieter, too.

You're not looking at DHCP leases, you're looking at W-Fi networks. How is your gateway connected to your network? Wi-Fi or Ethernet or not at all?

Someone at Tesla was telling me today there are some areas (I think Nevada was mentioned) where they can't get any Powerwalls approved by the utility, although you'd think that'd all be set in stone before they get installed. They will get approved eventually.

I've never heard of this, and looking at the site, there's nothing documented about integrating with Tesla or Solarcity.

You will not need to do anything special with that Neurio when you add circuits.

My personal feeling is that any charging behavior is fine, if it helps prolong the life of the equipment. I haven't had the chance to observe any different behavior, since one of my inverters has been busted for over a month (Thanks, Tesla!) and it's been cloudy and overcast most days anyway.

You can charge Powerwalls from the grid if you don't have solar.
