No battery terminals under the nosecone?

I actually noticed the same thing recently. Oddly enough I am also in Europe, maybe a European version of a Model S thing? Mine is a 2016 nosecone

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

@James@Tessie Thanks for replying! Yeah it makes sense. Maybe this is off-topic, but out of curiosity what is the in-car app fudging? A few things I have been able to notice is that it does not factor in HVAC while stopped (or in park, but maybe it doesn't factor in HVAC at all?) It also...

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

@James@Tessie Been using Tessie for a few months, love all the data it provides. One thing I noticed is that Tessie tends to report higher usage on drives than what my car says. For example I drove about 130km today and my car reported a 186 wh/km and Tessie reported that as 195 wh/km. Tessie...

Facelift a nosecone Model S EU

I have been trying to get my 2016 P90D facelifted since it is the nosecone version of the car. I know there are guides on how to do this online, but I don't really have the tools or space to complete this job (also I don't trust that I would get the fitment correct). I have been looking...

Aha! Ok cool, well thank you for letting me know :)

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

Wait a minute, I am having this issue after MCU2 upgrade as well. Car falls asleep as expected, but if I wake it by getting in it can take 3-5 minutes to reconnect to LTE. I had the SC look at it, but I dont think they are super knowledgeable where I went here in EU. Are you saying you had the...

Battery level decrease and increase while parked

Noticed this as well on my 2016 P90DL. If I park below 10% and leave it for a few hours, it will lose 5-6% all at once. Then when I charge back up to say 80-90%, It will find the 5-6% again. My working theory (I can't prove it 100%) is that Tesla uses the 4 or so kWh of buffer below 0% as just...

Very odd sleep pattern after MCU2

Very interesting. Maybe it is app-related. I am using Tessie track mine. I also have it set to not wake. I can remove Tessie, but wondering I can prove the car is sleeping with 100% certainty without at least one third party app

Very odd sleep pattern after MCU2

Hey everyone, noticed something odd after upgrading to MCU2, my car has been sleeping but in a very odd pattern. After parking, it goes to sleep very quickly as expected. But the pattern is 1 hour sleep, 5-10 minutes awake, 1 hour sleep, 1 hour 45 minutes awake. Repeat. I am on mobile so tried...

2022.4.5 Autopilot Regen Breaking is Excellent

Probably a silly question. But I assume the increased autopilot regen in autopilot is only for AP2 and above? This update didn’t affect AP1s regen in any way, is that correct?

Looking for guidance - odd vibration cruising between 60-75mph

This did the trick for me. Such a pleasant ride now at those speeds. At least much more so than when that “droning” sound was present. Night and day difference. I followed the advice in the video. But I also applied the same logic to the bump stops under the frunk. Not sure if that also helped...

Looking for guidance - odd vibration cruising between 60-75mph

Wow, what an excellent post. I noticed a similar issue during a long car ride back to my home city recently and chalked it up to the roads. But it happened again as I've been driving more lately. Cant wait to try this method out.

Squeaking noise when pre heating - video attached

OP, does this noise stop as soon as you open the door? Oddly enough I have a Model S that does the same thing. Still trying to narrow down where it’s coming from

My Tesla S P85d nightmare. I don't think I ever want another tesla ever again and want to get rid of this junk asap

Really sorry about your cat :-(. Really stinks to hear about your experience with your first Tesla. I purchased a 2016 Model S P90D with way more mileage than yours (120k) back in September. Put another 7k miles on it so far with absolutely zero issues. Really hoping that once you fix up whats...

Charge limit setting missing under charging controls: 2014 S85 with 2021.44.25.2

Great news. Curious if you have the car silhouette as well or is it just the battery icon like pictured in @rchrzanowski post above? Not that big of a deal, but just curious as I wait for mine to push out. And a side question, does the "software" screen now show an image of the car? If so, is...

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

Hey James, I have a question. Although I think I already know the answer. I have a 2016 P90DL that is capable of venting the windows via the official Tesla App. Venting works in Tessie, but rolling up does not (same as the Tesla app). Is this a restriction because of my Model S? Or should Tessie...

Charge limit setting missing under charging controls: 2014 S85 with 2021.44.25.2

No idea for sure. I have an appointment with SC on the 18th, was going to let them know what's going on then. Has anyone else reported this?

Charge limit setting missing under charging controls: 2014 S85 with 2021.44.25.2

Interesting. When you say it was fine before, was it also showing the X ray image of the car where you could also set the charge limit within the charging screen? This would be the first report of a 2015 I’ve read about showing that if so

Charge limit setting missing under charging controls: 2014 S85 with 2021.44.25.2

In the Tesla app you can set it. And it sets correctly I believe. In the car, you can not if you upgraded to MCU2 later on in the cars life. At least this is what I believe to be true based on everything I have seen online. Still waiting for my update here in Croatia :-(

Charge limit setting missing under charging controls: 2014 S85 with 2021.44.25.2

I posted in another thread that all evidence so far suggests a nosecone version with MCU2 upgrade has this bug. As any example I have seen of a Model S/X that came with MCU2 (and AP2.5/3 for that matter) do not have the limit issue. I suspect this is a bug

Pre-refresh S / X now officially known as “Legacy” in terms of software

So odd. So far it seems to me nosecone = no x-ray photo of the car, with the ability to set the charge limit. Every example I have seen of AP2.5/AP3 has the same screen you are showing here. And any pre-AP/AP1 (with the MCU2 upgrade as that is needed for this update) I have seen does not have...

Pre-refresh S / X now officially known as “Legacy” in terms of software

@hybridbear Good question. I assume the first and second photos do not have the "bug" the only difference being one is a photo of the car plugged in and the other is a photo of it not plugged in (just spitballing here). The third photo I assume has to be a bug, cause that is with the car plugged in

Pre-refresh S / X now officially known as “Legacy” in terms of software

Hmmm weird. It’s almost like there are 3 different versions of this one screen. These aren’t my pictures. I took them from other places online. So apologize if the quality is bad

Pre-refresh S / X now officially known as “Legacy” in terms of software

Not to hijack this thread in any way, but with legacy Model S and this v11 (2021.44.25.2) update I have seen reports of both the "Charging" section under settings to contain the x-ray image of the car with the green battery underneath that allows you to set the limit and I have seen other images...

    Legacy v11

    P90DL battery replacement thread.

Yeah that makes sense. I did get them to agree to diagnose the battery, so that’s good I guess, but not expecting much. I still have over 2 1/2 years warranty of the battery, so I’m not too worried. Also, makes sense they would promise “like” condition at worst for replacement. But in all...

    P90DL battery replacement thread.

Sorry to revive the thread a bit, I currently have a 2016 P90DL nosecone version with V2 battery. About 120k miles on it. Max 100% charge is sitting at 225miles shown. Noticed some odd behavior when running the car down in order to charge back to maximum. When I ran it down to 7%, I let the car...

    Supercharging speed collection

Not sure if this will catch on or not, but worth a shot. I have been doing a lot of searching on the forum for supercharging speeds of Model S through the years and specifically with software updates. Although this will be anecdotal and there are many factors, I was hoping we could get a thread...

Unable to process request. Please try again later - Ownership Change

Hey everyone! So I recently purchased a used Tesla. So far loving the car, but having a real issue with getting the car moved to my Tesla account. I have tried the adding car option from within my account and on the last screen, after I update my car name, I receive the "Unable to process...

Advice on buying a used high mileage P90D

I ran the VIN online on something similar to carfax here in Europe and it came back clean, with no accidents. So I believe it should be fine. I also checked with Tesla and they ran the VIN and confirmed the 8 year warranty is still valid (which I think would not be the case if there was an...

Advice on buying a used high mileage P90D

Yeah, my deal with the dealership is that I will buy the car pending an inspection and they are completely fine with that. I would like to take it to Tesla for an inspection, but unsure if Tesla would be ok with that. However, there are lots of 3rd party reputable EV service centers in the...

Advice on buying a used high mileage P90D

Ok let me clarify, sorry I wasn’t super clear. So the 3rd party dealership is the owner of this car now. What I meant in terms of “transfer” is that they did not claim ownership of the car via the Tesla app (so the dealer doesn’t have access to the car in the Tesla app). With that being said...

Advice on buying a used high mileage P90D

Hold onnnnn. So this is a P90DL with the underlined badge, which I believe means this had ludicrous mode from the factory. I have heard of Tesla stripping EAP, FSD, FUSC after purchase but have never heard them stripping Ludicrous mode. Is this something they have been doing lately? That would...

Advice on buying a used high mileage P90D

Advice on buying a used high mileage P90D

Battery degradation does not appear terrible. 390-400km at 100%. So AP1 is working without issues, only getting the Park Assist Error. I had the dealer do a reset and Parking sensors now all work 🤷‍♂️ and the error is gone 100% confirmed by Tesla it still has the 8 year DU and battery warranty...

Advice on buying a used high mileage P90D

Thank you! If I decided to go with the P90D, I would still have the drive unit and battery warranty until 02/2024 I believe. I would probably sell the car before that, but I'm not sure. As for some of the other things that can go wrong, I kind of wish there was a way for me to already see the...

Advice on buying a used high mileage P90D

Here is the thing though, I converted the price from Euro to Dollars since I figured it would be easier for people to relate with on this forum. But I am purchasing this car in Europe. With that being said the price of a new Model 3 LR is a little over $62k (here in Croatia). And this 2016 P90D...

Advice on buying a used high mileage P90D

I am still really on the fence about this. Initially, I was in the market for a 2017-2018 75D and actually found one (and put a deposit down) prior to the dealer selling it from under me. This 75D has about 100k miles on it and was priced at $41k. Would you guys' recommend a 2017 AP2 75D over...

Advice on buying a used high mileage P90D

Hello friends! Was considering buying a used high mileage (200k km/125k miles) 2016 P90D for $47000. It appears to be in really good shape overall, however with Tesla it is extremely hard to get any type of information from the service center as I am not the owner of the car. I've done a lot of...
