I installed the Tesbros version of the mud flaps yesterday and the pins required a lot of force to secure. You'll want to make sure the mudflap is pushed all the way up against the fender liner as well, otherwise the clips will have a hard time engaging.

Just curious, what was your EDD showing before you received your VIN?

That may be the case for updating the EDD range, but VIN assignments are not always at set specific times. I received one in the middle of the day on a previous order.

I've had better luck talking to someone at my local delivery center, although I do think depending on call volume sometimes those get re-routed to a generic tesla support number.

I think what is lacking is a simple no-frills cruise control. On all the vehicles I've driven that have adaptive cruise or traffic assist systems, they also have the good old fashioned maintain speed you set cruise control as an option as well. Is this not something offered by Tesla?

For me it was 5 days. There was no change to the EDD at all, then a second vin was almost immediately assigned (also had intel atom chip) on day 5. I've heard between 3-5 days is normal for it to update after releasing a vin.

Not necessarily. I just got off the phone with my delivery center and unmatched from mine that had vin 154XXX and they confirmed it had the lead-acid battery & intel atom processor.

Some folks were saying that generally the day the VIN gets assigned aligns with the build date. I don't know if that's accurate or not, but that's what I was basing my comment on.

I get what you are saying, but right now nobody knows what % of new model 3's are actually being equipped with the Ryzen chip. For all we know, it could be 5% of new deliveries, and may not be 100% until June / July. There's no guarantee that the vin after next will have those items.

I don't put too much stock in what the initial EDD shows right after taking the hold off. After all, my original EDD when I ordered back in November was February 2022 and then a week later moved all the way up to December 2021. I'm fine with waiting until March anyway, but I expect that date...

My thoughts are that internally Tesla has a vin match date that may not be the same as the order hold lift date. There are folks (I'm one of them) who have had the hold lifted but aren't eligible to have a vin matched to their order until 1/1 or 1/2.

I'd just wait till you get back, and if they try to get a hold of you, tell them you thought the order was on hold until 12/31. The EDD change is probably just them prioritizing people on hold in their system, or something to that effect. I wouldn't think too much of it.

Some states charge personal property tax on vehicles owned on 1/1 for that tax year. That's the main reason I'm waiting until 1/2. On a $50k car, it would be about a $1700 bill due at the end of the year. Might as well kick that down the road another year if I can help it.
