    Average Wh/mi since owning?

233 @ 9k miles. M3SR+ I’m sure that average will increase though as I only took delivery in March so yet to see cold temperatures. I don’t know how accurate ABRP is but it’s interesting to see the ‘reference consumption Wh/mile at 65mph’ for different electric cars. I-pace is shocking!

M3 - one headlight brighter than other

Park on the level with a wall in front of you preferably. Access the service menu where there is a headlight adjustment setting. If it’s obvious which side is out then you are able to adjust each light using the steering wheel scrollers. Otherwise leave it to the techs!

    Uncommanded acceleration

I’ve had a situation where I was decelerating slowly and still had my foot on the accelerator slightly. I then needed to come to a stop and found myself depressing the accelerator. I think because I was slowing down, my ICE-trained muscle memory thought I had my foot on the brake rather than...

Wanted: dummy socket for male end of type 2 cable

To try and explain further, I have one untethered type 2 charger socket and two cables, one type 1 to type 2 for the PHEV, one type 2 to type 2. Both will remain on the drive The two ends of the type 2 cable are definitely different! I think what I’m going to do is wall mount the dust cap...

Wanted: dummy socket for male end of type 2 cable

I’m after a dummy socket that I can put next to my untethered charger to accept a type two cable male plug (ie the end that would go into the charger). I will soon have a PHEV and a model 3 on the drive, so 2 different cables requiring swapping around and thought this would be a neat solution...

    2020 Shipping Movements

Out in San Francisco at the moment so thought I’d take an early morning stroll down to pier 80 and have a looksee. Transporters loaded with 3’s and X’s arriving every few minutes. All the ones I saw were LHD. Couldn’t see quite how many were already on the site but room for hundreds more.

Tesla charging in the South West (North Somerset & Devon)

Try zap map. On the app you can filter for different charger types and speeds to cut out some clutter. There’s a few around the area that might be useful for you: Exmoor White Horse Inn has Tesla destination chargers for example. Could get a decent charge whilst having a meal. Morrison’s...

    Muscle memory

If you’re comparing costs of A6 to M3, you really need to look at total cost of ownership rather than just purchase price. I suspect (certainly hope!) M3 will have significantly lower running costs.

    Battery Preconditioning for Supercharging

Is preconditioning just to ensure the fastest charge rate? If so, and time is not the prime factor, then isn’t it more efficient/cheaper not to precondition? I suppose not navigating to a supercharger and just pulling in anyway would be enough to trick the car to not start heating the battery.

    Best Comments on EV Stories

Hmmm I like the idea of motorways covered in an electrified mesh like the dodgems. Just extend the roof mounted charge connector for some electrons while you drive. Might mess with your mobile signal though.

Company Car Tab BiK reduce to 0%

My company has just given a pay deal to one work group, part of which was a credit towards perks. Gym membership, dental, car lease (through Zenith) etc. All perks taken off gross salary (sacrifice).

What New Owners need to Know - UK FAQ

Couple of confirmation questions if I may: 1) Can people who have received their cars confirm what charge cable(s) they were supplied with. 2) Did you receive floor mats? 3) for partial premium interior, what are the media options? I’m guessing Spotify works via phone Bluetooth (not through...

Fellow UKers, I made a CPO Tesla Tracker, check it out!

Looks nice. Thank you. Would it be possible to have clickable column headers? ie clicking the 'Price' header could toggle between ordering the vehicles in price low -> high and high -> low. Same for date added would be nice too.

Supercharger Kitzuhel, all stall in use .

There is functionality within the tesla waze web app for supercharger usage/queues. I haven't been able to try it fully, and of course it relies on all drivers running the page on their cars browser, but pending an official solution from Tesla this might be the best option at the moment. Waze...

    Internet radio in the UK

I'm no audiophile but I do like the greater choice of radio stations that DAB provides, and the even greater ones through internet radio. £2100 for the Ultra high fidelity sound seems a bit steep for the privilege of DAB though. Can you successfully stream the BBC radio app via bluetooth to...

    UK Deliveries

I was at Goodwood Festival of Speed last Friday and visited the Tesla stand (2 RHD P85's with frunk latches removed (!), some comfy sofas and laminates of the future supercharger locations seen in another thread). The lady I spoke to said there were 180 deliveries over the weekend. Lots of...

    Importing model S from US

Hi, first post but long time lurker. Having seen the price differential between US and UK I began to consider the option of buying a model s (probably 2nd hand) in the states, keeping it their for the minimum six months and importing it to the UK. Aside from the steering wheel being on the...
