    Ear pain/Pressure help

There are two types of issues. One of what you describe is related to pressure, second one is related to a "buffeting" and "low frequency booming". The tubing will not help if you have a pressure type of issue. Read this thread, it's already discussed a lot about all those things.

Wall connector temperature readings in Wall Monitor App

Sounds like bad luck... Wall Connector is pretty reliable overall. I think with a replacement unit everythingg will go back to normal

    Windshield wiper automatically turn on.

I had a 500-mile road trip a couple of days ago, and along the way were spotty scattered rainstorms. And since driving on Autopilot, the Auto Wipers is a default option in this case. Well.. I was surprised at how well and accurately it worked. Definitely better than a year ago when I just bought...

Snow tires for 2022 Model Y

Depends on outside temperature. The 46F and below is considered the optimal operating temperature for winter tires. So if it's your case - you are completely fine switching to winter tires.

    Windshield wiper automatically turn on.

@ionsphere I got used to this approach instead of voice commands: when you make a stalk button push for a single wipe, then using a left scroll wheel during that moment, pushing it left or right you can select the wipers mode. This helps me to keep the hands on steering wheel and not trying to...

23 MYP: Vibration in brake pedal

No, I didn't search for the solution. Not a big deal for me as I mostly do "one-pedal driving" and rarely use friction brakes. When I press the brakes, other than random pedal vibration, the brakes work just fine with predictable stopping power. So I just keep driving and enjoying the car )

    Drill Front License Plate

Texas requires that a front license plate be installed. But you can see A LOT of cars driving around with only rear license plate. I drove a previous car without a front license plate and now drive Tesla the same way. Zero issues. I heard stories when cop pulled over and ticketed because of...

Should have purchased a CCS adaptor before the road trip

On top of that, when on road trips, I carry with me 50ft+25ft 110/12A extension cords and 50ft 220/30A extension cord 🙃

23 MYP: Vibration in brake pedal

I have this my 2022 Model Y LR. And I don't have "simulate brake regen when unavailable" activated. I thought it's kind of normal since Tesla doesn't have the vacuum power assist like in ICE cars, probably here is the eclectic brake power assist. I use "one pedal driving" most of the time and...

    Nicest looking rubber floor mats

The most minimalistic look is this one: Tesla Model Y All Weather Floor Mats – EVANNEX Aftermarket Tesla Accessories I like fabric mat, but for the winter Colorado trip needed something different to be easier to clean. It worked perfectly and design is very slim. Yeah, price also great.

    Thinking about a Model Y - some Q’s

There are differences as well, you can try to google. Tesla does not have a thing like a "model year". They can make changes to the car in the middle of the year. For example, I bought mine in August 2022, and just one month after, Tesla redesigned the door covers, similar to Model 3 with a...

    Thinking about a Model Y - some Q’s

Sell your car on Facebook and buy new from Tesla. Tesla continuously evolves. 2020 Model Y and 2023 Model Y are very different model Y's actually, even if they look the same outside and inside. If you go with 2020 vs 2023 you ll have: - slower infotainment system processor Intel Atom versus...

Are the Average Energy per mile metrics on the trip screen accurate?

Your Wh/mile will significantly depend on your cruising speed. So, is the Tesla measurement accurate? Yes Will you have the same consumption on a road trip? Not necessarily. It will depend on speed, wind, and elevation.

    Audio doesn't sound right...

Maybe you got used to cheap sound systems and a premium sound system sounds odd at first. In cheap sound systems, you don't have a feeling of the sound direction. It's just everywhere in the cabin of the car. Or it can be everywhere with a super low loud subwoofer if it's an additional custom...

China’s Abandoned, Obsolete EVs Are Piling Up in Cities

It does not mean that after a 3-year lease vehicle goes to the scrap yard. It's just sold to a new owner, with a cheaper price and continues its function but for the next owner. And it goes on and on until the "death cross" when maintaining/fixing the vehicle is more expensive than buying a...

650 miles on my Model Y with the 4680 battery.

Yeah, If you have any regular 120V outlet in your condo - use it! You ll get 40-50 miles of range with overnight charging. My friend lives in the house, have a garage, simple 220V installation setup possible. But he decided not doing so because 120V charging is enough for him for daily short...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

Kind of... It's important to replace a fluid because it absorbs moisture very well and over time, water in the fluid can unexpectedly create steam pockets when breaks are overheated so you lose the breaks because of that. With Tesla, it's not that critical, because friction brakes are more of...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

For Camry you forgot to calculate these maintenance things: 1. Brake pad and rotors. With 300K you will replace those at least 4 times. Total: $1000 2. Spark plugs - every 100K miles. Total: $300-500 3. Timing and driving belts. This service is also pretty expensive, every 100K miles. Total...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

I think it's not fair to compare $35K Prius with $55K Model Y. Cheaper ICE cars always have cheaper maintenance costs. Need to take similar cars by class and by price. When I had Volvo, a simple oil change at the official dealer was around $130-150. Break pad replacement with a rotor resurface...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

+1 for looking at CCS adapter. If your road trip routes are predictable, check the Electrify America stations along those routes. If the station charge per minute, then charging cost often up to 3 times cheaper than supercharger (if to convert back to $/kwh), because tesla charging pretty quick...

Acceleration Boost (AB) or 20" induction wheels for 2023 new Model Y LR

Okay, you may be right about suspension, and someone like for the car to be stiff. But tires.. well, spend $4K more on car and then spend another $1-2K to change the rims and tires... I don't know.. is the 1 sec off 0-60 really worth it.

Acceleration Boost (AB) or 20" induction wheels for 2023 new Model Y LR

    1. Lower suspension, some don't like it 2. Worse ride comfort 3. Easier to damage the 21 rims in the pot hole because of the low tire profile 4. Need to change tires more often and they are more expensive than 19s or 20s 5. Since rear tires are wider than fronts, you can't make rotation so you...

Acceleration Boost (AB) or 20" induction wheels for 2023 new Model Y LR

The ride quality on 19s is better than on 20s. That's a main reason why I didn't even think to upgrade to 20s. MYP before "comfort suspension" was even worse because of 21s, but people say not anymore.

    Do You Unplug For Thunderstorms?

I don't. Tesla Wall Connector seems to have a power surge protection. I think you ll not find online even a single case when tesla was damaged by power surge caused by lightning. There were cases when lightning strike near the car and that damaged it. But no cases related to power surge of...

    Thumb wheels annoyances

No issues at all. Sounds like you just need to perform a press a little bit differently. Instead of positioning your thumb on the center of the wheel, make the initial position of the thumb to the side of the wheel before pressing. For example, if you want to push it left, put your thumb to the...

    Wire size for wall charger

[Feature Request] Tesla Should Add the Ability to Turn Wireless Charging Off in Settings

This is a false statement. Li-Ion battery likes to have a short charge/discharge cycles! It only improves the battery lifespan! My iPhone 14 is about 8 months old. Always put it on the wireless charger pad in Tesla. And phone battery health is still showing 100%. Much better battery health...

Charging advice for a weekend-only car

Charging advice for a weekend-only car

This is what a Wall Connector manual says: You don't need to worry about power surges. Wall connectors has a protection agains this. Or in the worst case scenario, you have a car insurance, and "comprehensive" coverage covers stuff like this.

Best way to charge to prevent battery degradation?

Yeah.. don't babysit the battery. Charge to 80% daily and it will give you 150 miles of guaranteed range any given time (except maybe cold winter). Recommendation to keep battery about 50-60% related more to the storage of the battery... when you don't drive, or drive occasionally, better to...

Abnormal ‘22 MYP(erformance) battery degradation in 2023 SW packages?

Not sure how TeslaFi algorithms work. If you REALLY concern about this chart (don't forget that you have 8 year/120K miles battery warranty), you can run battery test using tesla service mode. I am sure it's the most accurate gauge of battery health.
