    Continental TPMS Retrofit

Ended up purchasing and installing Baolong sensors and within 3 minutes of driving Reset TPMS was successful. Returning the ITM sensors that were stated to be compatible.

    Continental TPMS Retrofit

Just an update on this, last week I went ahead and purchased 4 pre-programmed ITM Un-sensors Duo TPMS sensors and had local tire shop install them. Before leaving shop, I selected "reset TPMS" and the error message that was previously showing for tire sensor went away but the reset failed with...

    Driver's side wiper stopped working

Inspected the linkage and noticed that it has separated from the drivers side wiper. I sent in a service request to SC to get a price on a new assembly, does anyone know what the going price might be? I was thinking of also purchasing used one online that wasn't too old of a date.

    Driver's side wiper stopped working

Has anyone had their driver's side wiper stop working? Both wipers were working fine and all of sudden the driver's side decided to stop midway. When I got to a parking lot, I was able to move the driver's side wiper back down manually. It seems the motor is fine since the passenger side...

    Continental TPMS Retrofit

Nice, my main reason for the retrofit was to get rid of the alert message, so going with the Tire Rack Baolong TPMS sensors route get's rid of the aleart message? So my understanding from your reply is you wouldn't get any tire pressure display? Again thanks for this suggestion!

    Continental TPMS Retrofit

Thanks for all the inputs, I'm quoted about $140 for all the parts except the TPMS sensors themselves since they are less if I would to purchase them myself elsewhere. My local tire shop is charging about $80 to swap out all 4 sensors, my only worry is that Tesla SC might not update gateway if...

    Continental TPMS Retrofit

I'm looking into performing the Continental TPMS Retrofit on my 2013 MS P85+. Does anyone know if Tesla will be able to perform the software change remotely on the car’s system, so the Continental TPMS sensors are recognized after they are replaced? I've asked in the Tesla app for the...

Out of Warranty Drive Unit Replacement and Cost

Your car value will be less since the repairs are going to be needed for the RDU. Buyer might be more worried about what else could be wrong involving the repairs. If the repair was done by you, you would be selling the car in good running condition to the best of your knowledge. For example...

Out of Warranty Drive Unit Replacement and Cost

I would think you would get more $$ if you still decide to sell it after the replacement of the RDU, that will have 4 year warranty on it as an incentive in this market we are in as long as the gas prices stay high.

    Update 2022.24.5 No music streaming

Was update pushed out? Did the streaming service issue resolved? I picked up my car on Thursday after an MCU2 upgrade and notice the streaming service not working either. The theater (Netflix, YouTube, … and browser work fine though). I called the support number and they related my issue to...

    Noise from standstill

I had purchased the car late last month, it had the click noise at that time. Not sure how long it had been going on though. I took the LDU, HV battery and MCU2 upgrade into consideration towards the purchase price and it still made sense to purchase it with the price I was paying even with if...

    Noise from standstill

Thanks again, hopefully SC will get back to me on the chat, regarding the diagnostics finding to justify the replacement of all 3 items. Since I did the speed sensor inspection, I have the low profile jack and puck, I could have checked the half shaft for any play prior to taking it to the...

    Noise from standstill

Unfortunately in Northern California where I am there really isn’t another choice (no electrified garages nearby) besides Tesla SC’s to get a second opinion. I figured if SC comes back as the original noise being caused by loose half shaft (Not sure if both half shafts would cause the noise)...

Out of Warranty Drive Unit Replacement and Cost

My states: ASY,P-TRAIN,SPORT,LARGE DU(1002633-010T) so it seems like it's a new one. That might explain the difference in price. My original issue for taking the car to SC was for a clicking/clunk noise that is happening when pressing the accelerator from an standstill position (you can see...

Out of Warranty Drive Unit Replacement and Cost

I wonder why the price varies among SC to perform the same service, I was quoted $6k. Seems like you are at least saving a bit more than others for the same service. My model is 2013 P85+, I wonder if that makes a difference.

    Noise from standstill

Thanks, I’m waiting to hear back from SC, on the estimate it indicates both half shafts being replaced. I also didn’t find anything on the estimate to indicate what the diagnostic indicated to be the cause of the original noise. It’s as though it seems like let’s just replace everything and...

    Noise from standstill

Just wanted to provide an update, finally got the car to SC after original appointment was re-reschedule. Dropped the car over at SC yesterday, they looked at it and adjusted the estimate today to reflect that it needs an replacement of LDU and rear half shaft. I had inspected the speed sensor...

    Noise from standstill

Thing I noticed is that the thump noise does seem to happen even when lifting the foot off the accelerator. The noise isn't as strong though when pressing the accelerator, so I think that might rule out the brakes being the issue. It feels as though something has slack or is loose and when the...

    Noise from standstill

I forgot to mention that I've noticed when braking I was hearing the brakes squeal like the pad was worn down, I'm sorry I had forgotten to mention that before (must my old forgettable mind again). This happened for a couple of days regularly when applying the brakes, and then disappeared. It...

    Noise from standstill

Some additional information as I took car out for another run. I wanted to see if I could notice the noise or feel something happening without coming to a full stop to rule out the brakes being part of the issue. I noticed a subtle noise and felt something give when letting go (might be normal...

    Noise from standstill

Just did a visual check without removing the tires: Parking break passenger rear Driver rear I went ahead and ordered new parking brake pads, I figured it wouldn't hurt to change them out. Regular brake pads seemed to be still good with pad wear: Sorry about the...

    Noise from standstill

Thanks again for taking the time to reply to this thread and it seems like the best choice would be to have it diagnosed to figure out what the root cause is. Doesn’t seem like lubricating the half shaft hubs might not solve the issue and I would just end up paying for the diagnosed fees anyways.

    Noise from standstill

I have had the car for about 2 weeks and I don’t believe I’ve never engaged the hold brake because I just been holding my foot on the brakes until I need to go, meaning I’ve never seen the brake hold icon light up on the main small display.

    Noise from standstill

Thanks everyone so far for all the inputs, if it's the parking brake related, would that still come into play, when coming to full stop at traffic light and then pressing the accelerator and noise happens. Isn't this just a normal brake being engaged and the parking brake isn't being engaged...

    Noise from standstill

Mostly all of the time when leaving standstill position, this morning when I went to record the video it didn’t happen until after 2 movements, but after it happened every time.
  26. Auto007

    Noise from standstill

My thinking was the same since the noise happens after some few seconds of the movement. So if it doesn't seem like a halfshaft issue or a break stop from the sound and delay, that leaves the LDU issue. I knew going in with the purchase that I most likely will be looking at possible LDU issue...

    Noise from standstill

Here is a video of the clunking noise that I recorded this morning. You can hear the noise as I begin to pull out of the garage a few seconds into the videeo. Appreciate any feedback from folks who may have an idea on what clunk/clicking noise.

    Noise from standstill

I've read on some threads this so-called brake hold would make a noise. Is there some way for me to confirm that it might be a brake hold, by doing some diagnostics on my own? This is my first Tesla, just trying to make sure to make the right decision and not expose myself to unnecessary...

    Noise from standstill

I'm curious if someone else might have had to make this choice. My recently purchased 2013 MS with 35K, makes a single clunk/thump when the accelerator is pressed from a standstill position. It sounds like something is being engaged if I had to explain the sound. Doesn't make this noise...

    LTE upgrade vs MCU upgrade

I had also asked about recalls 18V-204 (steering wheel rack aluminum bolts) and 21V035 (eMMC) that show up as needed when I do a vin recall search at Tesla Service, their reply was "I do not see any active recalls at thisfor your vehicle. The service bulletins mentioned applied to vehicles...

    LTE upgrade vs MCU upgrade

I got them to state that LTE upgrade is part of the MCU2 upgrade, the service rep apologized. Now I'm dealing with the estimate, they want to charge $2184.38 without the radio option. The estimate shows weird factors, on one area it states "Correction: Visual Compute Module (VCM)...

    LTE upgrade vs MCU upgrade

Hello, sorry to bring up an old beaten subject up again. I'm in a process of having the 3G upgraded to LTE on my 2013 MS, but since the screen is leaking and has yellowish border I figured why spend the $200+ on the LTE upgrade and to just do the MCU2 upgrade. Tesla chat is stating that LTE...

Sell or Keep 2013 Model S?

Before the MCU2 upgrade what was your actual millage from charging at what percentage? For example, if you were charging to 70% and getting 150+ actual driving miles without any issues, wouldn't the battery still be capable of getting the same actual miles traveled? Why would the upgrade of...

I have read numberous posts and discussions about LDU's going bad on Model S. I would think indivduals most likely would only post things going bad on forums and not so many would post something positive because there wouldn't want to spend the time posting it (nothing for them to gain other...
