    Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS)

Picked up our Tesla YLR on 24 August 2022. On 16 January 2023, after 6,000 miles, I rotated the tires and reset the tire pressure display to reflect the correct positions. Surprisingly easy. On 3 July 2023, after 14,396 miles, I rotated again. This time, I can't find the tire location reset...

Will Tesla Buildup Superchargers to Accommodate Anticipated Demand from Ford, GM, Rivian, and whoever else, Adopting NACS circa 2024/2025?

Just voted Optimistic with normal build out. Just got back from a 5,121 mile road trip crossing 11 states. Lots of miles on interstate highways, state roads, rural back roads, just about every kind of road imaginable. Absolutely no issues charging. Never any "hypermiling" or "range anxiety"...

    Tesla service experience in USA

Would like to point that my service experience has just gotten even better. For all of my 55 years of driving, I have always enjoyed doing my own service work. I can't stand being dependent. For ever car I have owned, I have bought the factory service manual. I have even performed many repairs...

    Tesla service experience in USA

Throughout my life I have learned that the quality of service from any sort of service center is dependent on the employees you are dealing with. My experience with Tesla service centers has been excellent. They have gone above and beyond with each visit. They listen and actually seem to care...

    This is driving me crazy!

That's it!!! Thank you so much. Best commercial for anything I have seen in years! I now see that I was wrong about it being an X, but still... beyond awesome commercial! Thanks!

    This is driving me crazy!

About a week ago, I ran across a Tesla ad that I think was produced by the owner, but can't be sure. It was very well done. The ad showed the driver of a model X running errands and loading stuff from different stores; put in a ladder and some boxes from a home improvement store. Then a drive...

Tesla’s Model Y SUV is being investigated for steering wheels that can fall off

I'm not imagining anything. I'm just referring to the "loosening" of the nut as suspected in this thread. Realistically, I do not imagine any nut or bolt loosening on a steering wheel. Never witnessed anything like that or can "imagine" how it would occur. As I have mentioned, the steering...

Tesla’s Model Y SUV is being investigated for steering wheels that can fall off

What needs to be understood is that the steering wheel mounts on a keyed shaft. The nut only keeps the wheel engaged on the shaft. If the nut loosens it will not make the wheel wobbly or not steer the car. If the nut comes completely loose the wheel will only slide off the shaft if pulled. If it...

2023 Model Y Long Range Disappointment in boominess after Demo Drive

Are you referring to my post regarding my hearing aid? If so, then both. Some were ICE cars, some were plugable hybrid with a substantial electric only range. In each one, the issue was with air flow. Our model Y is the only car I have had, withing the last decade, that I could tolerate...

Opinion: Tesla should partner with another OEM for NACS or be forced into CCS someday.

Indeed! I may be mistaken. I haven't actually measured it, but it looks a lot smaller than any of the other EVs charge port doors with CCS.

Opinion: Tesla should partner with another OEM for NACS or be forced into CCS someday.

Since this post is labeled as Opinion, I guess I will share my opinion. As a retired electronics design engineer who worked on the early development of charging stations, I am disappointed with how the "standard" has developed. At the time of early development, I was irritated with the...

2023 Model Y Long Range Disappointment in boominess after Demo Drive

Very interesting thread. I have a hearing birth defect and wear a custom hearing aid. It has to be custom because my hearing issue is not common hearing loss, thus no commercial hearing aids are available that work for me. In any event, it's frequency response extends deep into the infrasound...

    Hard Stop

When we first got our Y, it did all the common complained about phantom braking and over reactive etc., but that seems to have gone away. I now use cruse control and auto steer almost all the time now and it hasn't phantom braked in several months. Also braking due to cross traffic and abrupt...

    Hard Stop

On our drive from Houston to Austin we were peacefully cruising along US 290. I was driving and using SD at about 70 mph. Suddenly an SUV darted directly across our path from a side street. Equally suddenly, our Tesla Y slammed on the brakes. It was a few milliseconds faster than me. My foot...

    MYLR

For what it's worth, my experience with our MYLR was just like yours. Picked it up in August and it keeps getting better. Brings back an old term I used to use; "Joy Ride".

    Excessive distance warning

Interesting... On Tuesday, the day after posting about the issue, the USS distance readouts suddenly became accurate again. This was before any washing. Still worked perfectly after washing and even while still dripping wet. So far, it has worked perfectly ever since.

    Excessive distance warning

    Yes, already cleaned them.

    Excessive distance warning

Pretty sure it has USS. Since delivery in August it has worked perfectly - very accurate. Senses things at curb level outside of view. It has only become "hyper" within the last week or two. Might need replacement would be rather disappointing for a three month old car.

    Excessive distance warning

Just recently, our MY has started warning of too close warnings when parking in our garage or in parking lots. It warns of distances of 13 or less inches when I know there are several feet of clearance. It exclaims STOP, but continuing to move forward it just changes the distance measure...

    Delivery Day and Comfort Suspension

Awesome! Took delivery of our MYLR on 24-Aug-2022 and ours was as perfect as you describe. Still very happy with ours. Actually, we have grown more impressed the more we drive it. Kind of sad negative reviews are more popular than good ones.

    Navigation Audio

Yes, it does that and I just set the nav audio louder. That works for me, but my wife wants complete muting because she doesn't like the nav audio to be louder. Our previous car muted the music with nav speaking. She liked that. In any event, thanks everyone for the replies.

    Navigation Audio

My wife complains that the music audio does not mute when the navigation speaks. I looked for any settings and consulted the owners manual. The owners manuals seems to indicate there is no settings and that the music automatically mutes anytime the navigation is speaking. It does not mute on our...

Does Full Self-Driving mode affect range?

Oh wait. The return trip was at night, thus headlights were on.

Does Full Self-Driving mode affect range?

Thanks for the reply. Actually I meant if FSD consumed any more energy than cruise control. I am curious because on a particular trip, cruise control was used going and FSD was used on the return side. Seemed to get slightly less range on the return trip. I know there are lots of variables...

Does Full Self-Driving mode affect range?

I am curious if Full Self-Driving mode affects range. It almost seems that my Model YLR gets less range when FSD is used. I just wonder if that is the case or if other coincidental variables are involved. would like to know other's experience with FSD and range. Thanks.

    Politics - Quarantine Thread

Yep, I was in that same boat prior to ordering a MYLR. However, I realized that the car was going to be made and sold regardless whether I buy it or not. Also, regardless of Elon's poor social skills, I want to promote electric drive and I don't think there is any other company as innovative or...

    Picking up Y Today!!

Yep. It was actually made here in Austin. The pickup was on schedule and went very smoothly. The attendant that presented out car to us and gave an overview said he was exhausted as the volume of cars being delivered is overwhelming. So far, the car is more incredible than expected. I'm sure...

    Picking up Y Today!!

The original quoted delivery date was December 2022 to February 2023. Last Thursday, we received a message saying our new Y was to be delivered Wednesday, 24 August, 2022 at 4pm. Very exciting to say the least! Been waiting for this day since the mid 1990's! One very shocking discovery; My...
