I have two cars in my garage, both facing the same direction so the charge ports are probably about 15 feet apart. I've never had the both ports open when I press the button.
I like having it. When I travel, if the destination or other chargers are in use, I typically park across from the chargers. Then I can check the sentry camera every now and then to see when the spots open.
I set up the app and didn't pay until after I inspected the car. So you can set up your bank account in plaid and wait until delivery to hit the pay button. Once you hit the pay button, it takes a few minutes and then you can accept delivery. Then it takes a few minutes to sync the car and...
I was going to buy an ioniq 5 in a few months as I need a new car. However, the price cuts and EV tax credit made the MY much cheaper than the ioniq 5 limited that I would have bought. I did test drive the ioniq. A few things that I wish the MY had, but the MY had more milage, more cargo...
It can vary. A co-worker and I ordered the same config, but I ordered 2 days later. I got my first EDD update before he did. He didn't get his update until the day before his vin was assigned. We ordered right after price cut, so our times were compressed from what people are seeing now.
Yes. You hav e to make the payment before taking delivery. You can hand them the bank check or hit the payment button in the app after you see the car. You don't have to pay for the car before you see it (unless your state requires the car is paid for prior to it showing up)
I paid the remaining balance in the app after I inspected the car. The rep gave me the key card and told me to take my time. Once I was done, I showed him one issue, which I have a service appointment for and then I hit pay and then accepted delivery. Took a few minutes for the car to sync...
It took me 3 or 4 days to get the text. Once I did, it gave me options for a 3 or 4 days and a couple of times each day.
The insurance rules vary I believe from state to state. I just provided the vin to my insurance company once I had a delivery date and set that as the start of coverage...
For me, it just came down to if I want to make an extra stop or two for longer trips. The standard range will meet 90% of my driving needs and also the other 10% if I am ok with adding 20 to 40 minutes to my trip. I opted to go with the longer range even though I probably don't "need" it.
I am upset my 2023 MYLR does not have park assist distance readouts like my 2022 M3LR. I knew this was going to be the case, but hope that they address it with OTA updates at some future point. I don't technically 'need' it, but it is a nice feature to have.
If it wasn't for all the uncertainty about the tax credit, 1/2 the angst would go away. There was not a deadline for anything when I ordered my M3 last year. It took about 8 weeks I think and it went by pretty quickly. I never refreshed the app at all. This year, it only took 5 weeks to get...
Yes. I fully inspected the car this week inside and out before paying my down payment. Same when i picked up my M3 last year. Apparently, some places are a little strict about opening the car before payment, but that has never been the case for me. I just asked if I could do a quick look...
Hold will bring you to a stop and keep you stopped. At low speeds, roll and creep will let you keep going so you get less regen as you have to hit breaks instead of using the motor to slow/stop you.

I showed up a few minutes early. SA had me sign the registration, agreement, plate...
I was worried on my first road trip which was about 500 miles. The navigation system will add super charger stops along the way. Note that it plans to get you to your destination with about 20% battery as it assumes you can charge at your destination, which isn't always the case. I always...
Used cars have a different tax credit, but it is probably too expensive for the used car credit. That being said, it is basically a new car with only 1k miles for $7k less than new and waiting for 2 months.
Yes, I have a 2022 M3 and I have received 4 or so recall notices. Every single one was an OTA update. Naysayers typically smugly ask "how many times have you had to take that thing back because of all the recalls I've been reading about?" I get to say "Never. They all happen over night by...
I want to say early in this tread, somebody said they had the "older" version of the app and it didn't show the tasks. Once they updated, they had the ability to upload license, etc...
The really fun thing is when you get back into an ICE vehicle after a few weeks and take your foot off the pedal. It feels like it is speeding up. I am so glad my street has stop sign at the end to remind me.
My M3 locks when I walk away and I can not open it without the phone. Double check...
They typically won't put it on unless you ask nicely. Some people get their cars wrapped etc and don't want in on when they pick it up. It's easy to put on and takes about 1 minute.
There are 2 components to the tax credit, 1 final assembly in the US for $3,750. 2, x percent (it's either 40 of 50) of the critical materials must be sourced from us or free trade partners for the other $3,750 in 2023 which goes up every year. Telsas (and several others) meet the first part...
Yes, the government would be better off "investing" in tesla as the charging network is far superior. It's basically, "we are giving away money to build charging. you can have some if everyone can use the chargers". I would bet Tesla could make a bunch of money just rolling out Tesla brand...
The other fun thing we don't have to deal with is apparently many of the charging stations have a mix of 150 and 250 chargers and people who can't get a 250 rate charge often use them because they are "faster" even if they can't go above 150, so people who can charge above 150 are often stuck...
I saw a couple of recent articles that roughly 20% of people fail to get a charge at public chargers. Another said that in SF, the did a study and 25% of the charging was not working. All those fed up people are just going to go to the super chargers. In the limited number of times I tried to...
The only reason we are getting the full credit, is because they couldn't figure it out by Jan 1. they could have just as easily said only the $3,750 is available if you qualify until they figure it out or there is none until they figure it out. It's causing a ton of stress for people.
I guess they could do anything. However, the law spells out what the tax credits are as of 1/1/2023, the issue was the definition of critical materials, how to measure the %, and definition of free trade partners. At least 1 law maker is pushing to have the credit stopped until the rules are...
I see MYSR come up all the time in local inventory. If you want to pick up one of those, you can probably get it done quickly if you see one that matches. I've seen a lot of those over the last week show up in the VA inventory.
Point 1 has been a big stressor for everyone. There are so many things that could play out from this is the way it is on day 1, or here is what it will be in 30 days, or we are still trying to figure out what words mean, check back in 2 months, or etc.... At the very least, I would hope they...
I would assume at least a week to two weeks. I got my vin on 2/8 and the delivery estimate was 2/19 - 2/26. I assume that means they anticipated the vehicle arriving at local delivery by 17th or 18th at the earliest as it was being shipped from Austin to Virginia. I assume the local store...
I would have had 50% less stress if I knew things like "scheduled for production mid next week, vin assigned shortly after", "now that you have a vin, you will receive a request to schedule appointment by X date". Although, none of that would have been an huge issue if we didn't have all the...
My vin assignment and delivery text came about 4 days apart. I am on the east coast, so I assume it takes a few days for it to get to the depot on my end and then to the lot.
They said according to research, people weren't using the mobile adapters. I use mine everyday as I have a nema 14-50 outlet in garage, so I didn't spend money on installing a charger. Most of the people I know do buy either a non-tesla charger because of the rebates or a tesla wall charger.

Whenever I travel, I always look for hotels that have tesla destination chargers or free jplugs. Makes the trip super cheap if I only have to hit one super charger coming and going.
That is crazy high rate for electricity. I think in VA, the average rate is $0.12 or so before I switched to a different rate plan. I am not sure because I switched to the off peak plan so that when I charge overnight, in the summer months it is $0.097/kwh and in winter it is $0.122/kwh.
