My assessment of Version 9 autopilot

For those that complain about Autopilot nag... what is your problem! Just rest your hand with gentle pressure- doesn’t take much.. I drove down the west coast a not single issue with nag... more of an issue of some people “nagging” and not the car! I think they got it right. It is NOT a self...

    Nav on Autopilot- Vancouver

I tell you, it works way better in USA. Not sure if they have better maps or road markings better or better designed roads for on/off ramps???

    Nav on Autopilot- Vancouver

just spent two weeks in USA using NoA. Works well down coast but doesn’t do well on my commute here from Queensborough to Richmond and back.. wrong lane suggestions and doesn’t take right off-ramp directions. What are you finding ?

Model 3 Accident, Is this car really safe to drive?

Did you suffer any serious injuries as a result of the collision? Looks like from the crumple zone, the car did its job to absorb the impact. Sorry you feel unsafe. I presume you were not on Autopilot?

New Software Update (Dec 18, 2018)

It’s funny, as it didn’t appear right away... I was driving away from the Blaine Starbucks where I did the two button and brake reboot.. after a couple minutes, the screen rebooted with the feature available. I had to pull over and activate the feature while stoped.

Tried a month ago and had no issues getting it working. Can’t remember where I stopped (Starbucks) and drove to first supercharger on Nav on Autopilot... hoping for same success.

Navigate on autopilot not in Canada? 2018.42

I can also confirm using NoA in Vancouver BC is “hit and miss”. Excuse the pun... I did a test drive to USA to Burlington and I pulled over and rebooted the car once I was on the USA network. Feature activated within n a few minutes of the reboot. Regarding the maps.. my thoughts: NoA was...

    Summon is coming!

That makes a lot of sense to me. Canada does require an immobilized as a security system over the USA. This is also one of the reasons you can not import a Tesla S, X or 3 into canada from USA...

    Summon is coming!

I get that.. but I am confused why the Bluetooth on the phone cannot satisfy the “FOB” requirement. Why do we need another device that does the same thing as what the phone’s Bluetooth is doing.
  18. Tim Alguire

    Summon is coming!

Well lets see how all this plays out in time... I understand CANADA being conservative, as we are requiring a FOB to be detected by the car in order to have Summon work on the phone. So a FOB is written into the regulations. This is also how it works on the S and X. So here is the question...

Did you at least get to play with it for a while?

Version 9 - no “Navigate on Autopilot” for Canadians.

Looks like the Nav on Autopilot is not going to be available right away on version 9. Wonder how long that will take of if this is a major issue for Canadian regulations or not?. Along with that, EAP summon still not available in Canada. Any thoughts or insight?

Model 3 Door Handle and Cessna 177 Cardinal

I went flying for the first time in many years and I realized that Cessna and the Model 3 Door handles have a lot in common, In fact the basic operation is very simiar. You press the thumb to expose the handle and pull the handle with the fingers... Both the Tesla Model 3 and the Cessna 177...

Calculating the Model 3 Canadian prices?

Well the problem is the public don't know it is not Competition.. in the USA the Bolt and Model 3 are priced almost the same.. both marketed as an affordable electric car. Now having said that.. yeah like as if the Bolt is Competition! It isn't. Tesla is way ahead. BUT I will be disappointed...
