2020 LR+ auto parking worse than my old 85D

I've been thinking this for a while: the auto parallel parking on my 2020 LR+ is nowhere near as good as it was on my 2015 85D. It's slower, more hesitant and less accurate. Is it just me, or has anyone else had a similar experience?

Homelink in the app - choose which door?

It's great that we can operate Homelink from within the phone app. But is there a way to choose which 'door' we open with the app? I have two programmed, and the app invariably opens the wrong one.

    Anyone using 'Recurrent'?

Saw a mention by @Gray468 in this thread of 'Recurrent'. Appears to be a new-ish service that provides free battery health reports. Doesn't appear to be particularly detailed, and perhaps it's just another way to monetize our data. Nonetheless I'm curious. Anyone else using it?

    Sold my 85D this morning

I just had what may possibly be the easiest and most pleasant vehicle sales transaction I've ever had. I'd advertised my 85D on a couple of the "Tesla For Sale" Facebook groups, not expecting anything to come of it. And sure enough, the trolls descended to price-bash. I had a couple of...

    FSD on lease buyout

Hey all I'm looking at a new S. Private sale, current (first) owner leased the car from Tesla. So he will buy out the lease, and I will then buy the car from him. The only thing that's giving me pause: is there any danger of Tesla yanking the FSD from the car? Any precedent either way...

So I reserved a Lucid Air

Looking at my options for my next S, I found myself going down a Lucid rabbit hole, and liking what I saw. So I got myself a reservation. No idea when it’ll show up. Maybe this year, maybe a year from now. But at under $70k for the cooking version (with three years’ Electrify America charging)...

Charge port sensor fault and part availability

My car threw a 'Charge port sensor fault' yesterday, and won't charge. From a quick search this is not all that uncommon. So I requested service through the app, and was pleasantly surprised when they said mobile service would be here Tuesday morning. Alas, earlier today, they messaged me to...

Efficiency gain from 21" to 19" w Michelin Energy

At the end of June, after destroying two 21" tires on a pothole, I switched to 19" Slipstreams and Michelin Energy tires. I've now put nearly 1,000 road trip miles on them and had a feeling the new combination was proving considerably more efficient, but I didn't have a sense of how much. So I...

WTB 19” Model S wheels and tires

Probably a long shot but does anyone have a usable set of 19” wheels and tires within a reasonable distance of Washington DC? I hit a pothole just outside Baltimore yesterday and blew my two left tires, so I figure this is the sign I needed to switch from 21s to 19s …

2,250 mile road trip in my chargegated 85D

What with the pandemic and everything, I hadn’t seen my parents for nearly a year and a half. So, now that we’re all vaccinated, my wife and I loaded up the dog and headed down to my folks’ place in Naples, FL for a week. Got back on Sunday. Overall conclusion: reduced charge speeds are a...

I-95 corridor superchargers: Good ones? Bad ones?

Hi all I’m whiling away the days until my new-to-me 85D arrives (it’s on a truck somewhere between Seattle and DC) planning road trips to visit friends and family. Many of these involve the I-95 corridor, either North to NY, Boston and New Hampshire, or South to NC and onward to Jacksonville...

    Another “Will FUSC transfer?” question

Hi all I know this topic has been done to death, but asking anyway in case there’s any expertise out there ... I went to look at a 2016 S this morning. The (current, and second) owner bought it from a (non-Tesla) dealership in August 2020 - Carfax notes it as having been offered for sale by...
