"Secret Sauce" power upgrade coming - beyond Ludicrous

I watched the video before it was taken down. I stumbled upon this article that came out a while ago. You'll notice that it uses the same secret sauce phrase. Perhaps the upgrade he was testing out was tuned for performance rather than an increase in range. Temporarily increased inverter...

"GM's Reaction" to Tesla Model 3 Unveiling

This was a video on Tesla Motors subreddit that I wanted to share. IMO it's a funny and (somewhat) accurate depiction of the GM board room right now. Credit to /u/Derfein

Tesla Priorities: Refine Autopilot or Fix Everything Else?

I'm suddenly unable to find the Mercedes-Benz drive pilot feature videos. There were a bunch of them lately. There were impressive videos of pedestrian detection. There was another video about active crash avoidance in regards to a car traveling perpendicular to you (red light running). The...

Tesla Priorities: Refine Autopilot or Fix Everything Else?

Mercedes may invalidate your first statement. In some areas they're ahead with the 2017 E-Class.

Risk of autopilot being used for nefarious purposes

This topic is sensational. I imagine they would use something cheaper. It's so unlikely it's not even worth mentioning. I know the Model S and X have a large amount of... ahem... space for "cargo," but it's just completely unrealistic. You're making it sound there's someone meaning to do harm...

    Tesla Employee Satisfaction Improvement

Just a brief question. I was browsing through Glassdoor last night and came upon the Tesla Motors reviews page. The majority of the reviews seem to be moderately positive. A couple of the more reasonable negative ones raised some interesting concerns. A challenging work life balance and turnover...

    Akon's A Tesla Fanboi

People can like something without knowing much about it, that's not a crime. How much do you actually know about the intricacies of every single thing you use and experience on a daily basis? He's obviously had a wide selection of exotic cars to use in the past.

WARNING: I rear-ended someone today while using Auto Pilot in my brand new P90D!

Only he can truly answer that if he would have crashed if certain factors were altered. I'm not arguing legal liability. My interpretation of the wording leads me to believe that there was a reasonable distance. And I disagree. Autopilot (and AEB) does make a difference. It makes a difference...

WARNING: I rear-ended someone today while using Auto Pilot in my brand new P90D!

No. That's too convenient of an answer. And there's no need to use absolutes in saying any and every driver would have performed in a manner to avoid a crash. When a person, who may not be as technical or supremely aware as you, uses autopilot features with AEB they're going to make a set of...

    v7.1 Feature MISSING?!

With nearly every other car a buyer accepts that the car will likely remain in it's current state throughout ownership. Those spending the same kind of money on the S-Class or 7 series aren't complaining about the lack of retrofits (or even updates). Owners of older cars with auto lane keeping...

Tesla has probably already read the thread. But to be sure you should probably send those findings in. Hopefully they get to engineering.

Could you clarify, I'm not quite understanding correctly. The first sentence has me thinking you're making a left turn. The second makes me think you're using auto lane change.

    Summon is on the App!

Hopefully they'll omit the need to stand near the car with the fob when at a designated home location (private property).
  20. N

    Firmware 7.1

Hopefully the feature will come in the future for a designated home location (i.e. non public). That way you could have it come out ahead of time. It would "meet you there" as Elon originally said.

    I just totalled my Tesla!!!

Speaking for Allstate, the success rate rate in recovery when Insurance goes against an uninsured person was less than 5%. This was mentioned to my family after being rear-ended by an uninsured driver. I'm sure it's dramatically higher if it's an insurance company collecting from another company.

    Tesla Headquarters Functions Moving?

A Tesla Store and Autopilot Encounter

"About the Tesla dealership culture…. It is worth noting that I didn’t roll into the dealership by myself. I had my wife and 2 kids, which is extremely relevant in a dealership selling $70,000–130,000 cars. Normally, the attitude is stuffy. Everyone is paranoid about the kids and what they...

    Hello Everyone! Testdrive First Impressions...

Was working with the assumption that a P85D could be acquired for 100-105k. The combination of upgrades shouldn't be more than $7,500-10,000 (guessing). I was comparing that to a fully loaded P90D at $135-140k.

Off topic, but that's a bit dark. Shooting? Human chew toys? There's a difference between a thief and someone who could potentially be a random punk keying car. With the exception of those who perform reprehensible unthinkable crimes there's still at least some value to human life/health
