That might well be a preparation of "The Button", which will be then be activated/made visible at a later time. Who knows.

    Tesla API Token Generator

Also, the token alone does not allow to start the car (still need the password in addition to do that). So it is a little bit less dangerous to give out to 3rd party services. With someone stealing username/password, you are giving literally out the car's location, a way to unlock it without...

Nikola, an Amazon Echo/Skill for your Tesla

Any updates on this? :-) My Pi seems to be crashing on a daily basis now (I might just have overloaded it with dash button watcher, home automation stuff etc.)...

    Firmware 8.0

Same here. Very annoying (and again surprised that Tesla QA did not catch this... )

Do you have a version that can be deployed for single user use?

Nikola, an Amazon Echo/Skill for your Tesla

That seems to be another disadvantage of the Cloud9 implementation (at least for the free version)... Inactive Workspaces · Cloud9 They kill inactive workspaces (I am assuming that also applies to Python processes running in them) after 2 hours.

Nikola, an Amazon Echo/Skill for your Tesla

Cool, thanks a lot! Would be great if you could add an option to provide a Tesla Auth Token instead of username/password as an environment variable. I still don't feel comfortable storing my Tesla credentials somewhere in the "cloud" (I know, old fashioned :-D )

Nikola, an Amazon Echo/Skill for your Tesla

I have a Pi3, Model B. I tried that, but don't like the fact that I have to set the project to "public" in order to get it to work (I am using the authentication token directly in the code in order to be nice to the Tesla API).

Nikola, an Amazon Echo/Skill for your Tesla

Thanks so much @wayner! I have this running on my Pi - using the basic plan from ngrok with a fix subdomain on the tunnel, it even survives Pi reboots now! :)

    EVE For Tesla?

It's a great concept and is probably pushing the envelop in terms of what is possible with the browser. But it is a resource hog, and it regularly freezes up the whole center console (!!), so I stopped using it.

Slacker now giving me pseudo commercials

Did you by any chance get your Tesla in December 2015? The account for my Tesla expires in 3/17, which will be one year after purchase of the car.

$3K extra for Full Self-Driving Capability could be a bad deal

I have mentioned something similar in another thread (and got some "love" for it  ) - for sure the $3000 investment on the "full autonomy" part at this point is purely speculative. It's a bold assumption that Tesla makes on something they think they can implement with software only...

    Unveiling on Oct 17th

Thanks! So basically an $8000 bet on a feature set that might or might not materialize, at some point in the future, with a lot of "if's". A typical Tesla product :D

    Unveiling on Oct 17th

Incremental - sure. But it has been something like what - 6 weeks? - when the switch away from cameras and focusing on radar was made (saying that that would improve AP a lot), and now things will go back to mainly cameras (my interpretation)? Oh, and let me add another question: 4. by when...

    Unveiling on Oct 17th

This raises a lot of questions... 1. what about the just introduced radar-focused AP? Sounds like the new HW will be relying on cameras much more again 2. the fact that apparently all of the current AP features won't work hints to a complete re-haul of the AP architecture (related to point 1)...

Did anyone do a summon implementation in Javascript by any chance? Using the new streaming method obviously :)

    TeslaFi.com

Believe it or not, but now it is working again. I am using a password manager that automatically enters the credentials, so I am pretty sure it was not user error :)

    AP in 8.0

OK, here are my impressions after 2 days, 250 miles with AP 8.0 in highway as well as stop&go commute traffic: 1. Stop & Go traffic: AP is a lot smoother, more human-like driving. Definitely improved. 2. Highway traffic (+/- 70mph): no difference to 7.1 whatsoever. Still sways when losing one...

    AP in 8.0

There is an audible alert after you ignore the pulsating IC (which starts like 1 pulse/sec and gets faster to something like 3 pulses/sec). I'd say it pulsates for about 10 seconds before the audible alert is fired. And I believe this audible alert counts against the 3 "ignore me" counter per...

Yep, I recall the same. I couldn't find those settings under 8.0 anymore either.
  39. rog

    Firmware 8.0

First commute on 8.0, and I have to say that AP in stop&go traffic really has improved. By a lot... No more jerky braking and accelerating, it feels much more natural/like a human driver.
  40. rog

    Firmware 8.0

That sounds like a lot... my .108 upgrade caused less than 200MB download traffic on my network...
  41. rog

    Firmware 8.0

Seems like roll out is indeed picking up steam. My guess would be that the hick up yesterday was regarding a deployment issue (@Ingineer hinted to that with some sys logs of the update process). They might not have tested all possible combinations of upgrade paths and car configs out there :)
  42. rog

    Firmware 8.0

    Firmware 8.0

Is this a manual yanking? Or does the FW installer ask for permission again before an already staged update is getting installed?
  45. rog

    Firmware 8.0

That would be in line with the stalling number of installs detected via Teslafi and manual additions to the FW tracker. My first thought was that they simply do x amount of cars per day and monitor, but if already staged downloads are not getting installed, then there might indeed be an issue.
  46. rog

I parked next to a Tesla store today during lunch - didn't do anything to my car so far either.

Saving kids and animals from heatstroke in cars

I wouldn't call it 'keeping the car cool' when it only kicks in at 105F... This is definitely a last resort kind of thing, and not a convenience function. I don't even know why Musk calls this a 'feature'...
  48. rog

If 8.0 ships tomorrow everyone's next Tesla payment is on me!

I am sure that guy in Fremont who is going to push that "start roll out" button is having a great time reading this thread here... Come on Fred, hit it! We know you want to! :p
