Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

i have to disagree as I like the original Model 3 look better, which is good since I own one and am not in a place to change that yet. For me the new one looks like it's trying too hard ala some Japanese and Chinese designs. Probably not a popular opinion here. (Overall, more improvements than I...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

As probably one of the few people with 250k miles in a Model 3, I think this will be a significant driver of adoption because when it doesn't matter who you voted for in the last election, it doesn't matter what business you're in, it doesn't even matter if you think human driven climate change...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It's telling that even 10% of the SpC network is still IMO superior to any other option out there. (When factoring in locations, number of stalls, ease of use, and actually in service.)

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'm starting to have a hunch that when one looks over Tesla production/delivery numbers in 2030, they will have "missed" all the way to 20 million vehicles over that past 18 years!

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I would assert that any place with reasonably reliable 220v power already has a base far above zero, especially for anyone who drive less than 300kms a day. I've averaged about 50,000 miles a year over the past 5 years (and yes, I do supercharge, but I'm also an extreme outlier). If I drove...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I don't completely agree with his analysis, in part because I think it ignores the basic premise that if you are building a lower cost model and still want it to remain profitable, building it in a location with cheaper labor and other costs is straightforward. Not to say it won't be for...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Elon: "Prototypes are easy, production is hard. Here is how we are planning to address the massive production/growth challenges over the next 5+ years." Wall Street: "But we wanted a PROTOTYPE! SELL!" On another note, maybe I'm just simple, but at least in Cybertruck's case if you...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Ok, I just did something I haven't done since probably 2019 and rage bought a share when it dipped back down, absent macro. Probably some of the biggest announcements in company history tomorrow. Yes, it's insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but it was back in 2018/19 as well when I...

Does any reasonable evaluation reach any other conclusion than Tesla would have folded before delivering even the Roadster had he stayed in charge?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

When they do open up the network to other EVs, Tesla should just give all Tesla owners $300 credit for supercharging (doesn't roll over) every year. In a sense, non-Teslas would be paying for the cars charging right next to them. That would be delightfully diabolical!

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Similar (anecdotal) story from my brother-in-law when picking up their new MYLR (partly my fault :p) a week ago. He asked the rep at the store and they said orders were up around 500%. Evidently they got it so fast because it matched something already in inventory. They were prepared and...

I was surprised when I installed an update on the 1st and it asked if I wanted to go ahead and activate FSD beta without having even asked for it. I will be post some initial impressions (I have 225k miles with advanced autopilot) and how down the road it might impact a possible Tesla rideshare...

Discussion for a collaborative Retail proposal for Annual Meeting 2023?

To accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. All members of the Tesla board have a fiduciary responsibility to that mission. We voted for one of the most significant compensation packages in the history of humanity. I don't think holding someone's personal behavior to account...

Discussion for a collaborative Retail proposal for Annual Meeting 2023?

I drive for a living and have had multiple people tell me now they'd never buy a Tesla because of Elon. This is a random sampling of people with the means whose only correlation is going wine tasting. Anecdotal? Absolutely- but based on what is being said online and the concern many others have...

Discussion for a collaborative Retail proposal for Annual Meeting 2023?

Just because I'd better say this before someone twists what I'm saying: In many ways I believe Elon has done a superlative job as CEO. When I see arguments about "founder" status I laugh at how asinine they are because it is self evident that Tesla survived and is where it is today with him as...

Discussion for a collaborative Retail proposal for Annual Meeting 2023?

A strong, independent person holds their own opinions. A wise one knows when to keep them to themselves. I continue to be disappointed in Elon- and yes I know it's Elon- and possibly more so by the board that more wisdom isn't being exercised especially in light of the fact this is a PUBLICLY...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I had a similar thought, if Tesla is committed to growing volume over maintaining margins it creates an even more daunting obstacle for "the competition that's always coming" who I suspect are still struggling to produce EVs at a meaningful profit. On another note: A strong, independent person...

Asked myself a hard question then sold my KHC (past ex dividend date anyway) to buy 32 more TSLA. Couch cushions are long empty and anything else would be taking a big loss. Either way, I'll be living on my sailboat some day- either homeless or cruising French Polynesia! :D

Sold one of my winners right now after its Dividend DOR and bought 10 more shares of $TSLA out of......sheer obstinance. It feels like 2018 all over, wall street goons need their asses kicked again. In other news, gave a ride to a nice couple on their way to pick up their new Model Y last...

Most will hate this question...[is there a way to play exhaust sounds when I accelerate?]

I've thought for some time that somebody who developed a really good app, that used the phone speed data and through bluetooth played the sound of your choice through the speakers would make a killing. For .99 unlock another genre of cars- 90s Formula 1, 60s Muscle, etc. Some people would love...

I guess I should chime in on this topic since I have first hand knowledge, having rented one for a month after my 2018 got totaled in June. The $334 does include insurance and maintenance, but it's about $30/week extra to cover the windshield and tires and another $60 for a LR if I remember...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Elon, bless his heart, once said to his first wife Justine, "If you were one of my employees I'd fire you!" The irony now is of course, if Elon were one of his own employees, that he would undoubtedly fire him. There is always a danger in someone getting a too swollen head from their own...

BYND Beyond Meat out of main

I finally had a chance to try the Beyond Orange Chicken at Panda Express. It was good, certainly better than the Beyond product KFC offered a while back. Hopefully they will keep in on the menu as an alternative. Yes, the regular orange chicken is still a little better, lol! I wish Taco Bell...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Anybody who has worked on their own cars a lot knows that for many automotive manufactures complexity and service difficulty is not an accident but a feature. Amongst other things I think it will be a hurdle for them to overcome in the design and production of EVs.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The Model 3 I lost to an accident in June had just over 202k miles on it (I assume one of the highest in the world) with only about 9% degradation with tons of supercharging. I would have been shocked if it had not gone to 300k and fully expected 400k. 300k divided by 15k miles/year (what sane...

That was a really neat moment, "I don't have a question, I just want to say thank you for making the world a better place." Standing ovation organically builds afterwards. Unfortunately, I got something in my eye at that moment, but even that and despite watching through a screen it wasn't...

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

Well, I threw in the towel a few days ago and switched to an inventory 2019 Model 3 Performance. It was still looking like early September for me for a delivery as...

FLAWLESS Fully Customized 2018 Performance Model 3 19k miles

I'm kind of in the same boat with my M3P order, it seems until you get a two week EDD window they're pretty fluid probably due to supply chain issues. Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

You know, it's kind of funny, I had never driven a M3P up to a few days ago as I liked my M3LR RWD, the Performance wasn't available when I ordered in early 2018, and I knew what would happen if I did. Or thought I did. I launched the thing several times from a stop and a roll and gave myself a...

As somebody who has been thrust neck deep into it right now, the used Tesla market is nuts and the best value out there are the new ones, at least for the 3 and the Y, IF you can wait for delivery! The only beneficial aspect to advertising would be to inform and improve the perception of EVs...

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

IMO Tesla's paint and panel gap issues are overblown, or are mostly from the early days of the Model S when they were still basically a new car company. I had 202,000 miles on my LR Model 3 when I lost it last month. The paint still looked great after I washed and waxed it. I could have had...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

I think we're going to start to see tanks go through a transition as happened with cavalry with the rise of firearms. I believe this to be a mischaracterization, as I was offered (I believe) the same program as well.
