Yes, I believe it's always good to get 3rd party opinions on a product when making a purchasing decision. That does not mean I believe all 3rd party opinions should be taken as gospel. Not that I find either of the links you posted to be terribly egregious.

Why wouldn't people care what reviewers have to say about the car if they haven't bought it yet? I'm pretty sure it will be great. But it's always good to get 3rd party opinions either way.

My guess is they'll let a preferred outlet or two (Motor Trend) take one for a spin after the reveal on the 28th. Others will probably have to wait until the fall to get their hands on one for thorough testing.

From watching the video, my impression is that Musk was stating there would be very limited options for initial deliveries, and that color/rims were two examples of things buyers could choose from. Not that those literally would be the only two choices the buyer would make.

That's just a phone camera overexposing the picture. It's dark out, so it overcompensated while trying to make the rest of the photo visible.
