Depends if you have wifi configured and in range from garage or not. I imagine most people with 3G only probably will have wifi configured, especially after 3G stops working.

I believe it is possible just to upgrade the modem. But as others have recommended might be best to upgrade to MCU2 at the same time... Even more so if you still have an older 8GB eMMC that was prone to fail (although hopefully these have all been replaced by now under the 2021 recall).

Everyone I have spoken to says that they would not consider purchasing a Tesla due to the removal of the stalks. Which is a shame, as Tesla do have other good features, e.g. reliable charging network. Last I heard that is still mostly Tesla only in Australia.

Tesla said that there was debris in the plug, which my have been the reason for the tip missing, and recommended that the charge port on the car be replaced. At just over $800. But small in comparison, the brake pads need replacing and and tires need replacing also.

Yes, to me, both the plug and the charging port looked damaged. To me, the pin on the port looks like it is missing the tip. Maybe this combined with the charger at Knox being slightly out of alignment, means the socket is banging into the flat part of the pin, which really shouldn't be a flat...

First sign of issues is that the button stops working, pressing it will no longer open the charge port. Then the charge errors start happening later.
