EAP owners.. are you spending $2k to get FSD?

Those of us who bought EAP, which is no longer an option: is EAP now a free built-in, or is it in limbo / not available to anyone but us who paid for it?

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Re: the center console gear thing, I have found that I have to touch one of the buttons with the brake depressed to activate it, which takes almost a second, at which point the lights come on, and then I can select D or R or whatever, and that works, but also with a slight delay. BTW: when I did...

Cost of upgrade path (basic AP -> enhanced AP -> FSD)

We got it three days ago, and it appears that Tesla triggers the start of the trial at the software install time, because we got an email shortly after the install completed. So far, it's been pretty amazing. We only enabled FSD 11 a couple times, weren't at all comfortable, and ignored it. FSD...

The good stories of delivery are shorter and less noticeable than the less-than-good ones. Our was great. Love the car. We're 3/4ths the way around the country on a month-long road trip to visit family and see sights, and it's been flawless.

Agreed - we didn't turn on FSD during our three month trial that just ended two weeks ago. IMO, if they want to sell folks on FSD 12, they should give everyone a trial of the new system...it might even work on me (but I'm skeptical).

    Child seat flap cover

I was just about to post this question too -- it seems odd that they just "float", and as a result, tend to float open. The open slots aren't at all attractive, so ... it would be nice to get them to stay shut somehow. Anyone?

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

We had a pretty flawless delivery in December. Since then, only one minor thing has shown up: our "frunk access cover" or whatever you call that thing - has one missing clip (the white inserts), and one of the two guideposts was flattened, and immediately broke off after touching it. These...

Autopilot needs manual lane change without disengage

We recently upgraded from a 2015 MS to a 2023 MSLR. As one person earlier in this thread noted, the 2015's basic AP does exactly what folks here want: on AP, engaging the turn signal 'does its best to check that it's safe' then changes lanes and turns off the signal, all while under auto-steer...

Cost of upgrade path (basic AP -> enhanced AP -> FSD)

We have a 2023 MSLR with only basic AP. The trial of FSD just expired. We didn't use it much, so are likely to be interested in just enhanced AP. Some day, especially if FSD v12 is as good as it seems like it might be, we may be interested in upgrading to FSD. Right now AP is $6k, and FSD is...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I had luck without needing to use chemicals -- I used a lot of quite warm water, a fishing line, a plastic spodge tool and a lot of patience. (It took a bit over 30 minutes). I think it turned out looking great - no signs of where the adhesive was.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

The day of our delivery in December 23, the Plaid system was down. Our SA said it happens every other month or so (just our luck!). Fortunately there was a bank nearby, and they could make a cashier's check. We got to inspect the car before handing it over. It's been great so far, with over...

Ditto. This free trial is not working at all as a marketing effort on me.

Top Speed reduced to 130 for LR

It sounds like (and appears to me via many pokings around, including service mode) there is no way to check what the software limit to speed is via the interface, is that folks' understanding as well? I'm not going to the track to check my top speed, but I did get a late '23, whose top speed was...

    Service manual no longer free?

That is exactly correct, and bizarre (to me). With Firefox the site looks completely different and you can't get at the service manual, but in Chrome, you can. Thanks! (the technology exists for the Tesla site to report browser incompatibility)

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Today we took delivery of our MS LR (Ultra red / cream / wheel). The payment system was acting wonky, so we had to get a cashier's check and come back. Other than that, everything was tip-top. Panels well-aligned, paint in very nice shape (but a bit difficult to really check -- it was drizzling...

    Free Supercharging transfer opportunity

Can I do that at the inspection time? I don't want to transfer to a car I don't want to accept, ideally.

    Free Supercharging transfer opportunity

We're taking advantage of the UFSC transfer, and have been scheduled for delivery next week. They're saying we can/should click the transfer supercharging button on the Tesla App now, but I hesitate to do so until we formally accept delivery. What do folks who have gone through this suggest? (I...

Us too, for delivery Dec 5-11. The app added an interesting order modification disclaimer about the USS being not included, therefore self-park, summon and other AP functions might be reduced until a future software upgrade.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Earlier this year we had our 2015 MS's whole front bumper tear off backing away from a parking bumper. The car auto-raised at that location, but lowered just a bit (?) and caught the underside. It was $5k to repair, but covered by insurance (!). A front camera would be real nice. The front...

We ordered 10/29 as well for an Oregon delivery (also MSLR Ultra Red), no VIN yet. They're saying Est delivery today through December 16th.

    Lighthearted & cool Cybertruck-related gift

I saw these puzzles from Craighill and thought they'd be great gifts for my Tesla-curious in-laws, so I made some labels, and am looking forward to the reaction. Tan seats and dye transfer.

We just found that one of the family's leather belts has a dye or finish that has transferred to our tan seats. Tried water, mild soap, and a gentle cleaner, none moved it a bit. Haven't tried the magic eraser or leather cleaner, but thought we'd ask here to see if any folks have solved similar...

Considering used S 90D, but battery concerns

"Our other car is a Leaf" - we got a 2011 Leaf a couple years ago, after the VW TDI debacle, and had been renting cars for trips of > 80 miles. It worked pretty well (yay, Enterprise 5 blocks away!) but finally decided we'd had enough carbon emissions, and for winter driving, you can't put...

Considering used S 90D, but battery concerns

2015 90D with one owner, 20K miles, air suspension, advanced electronics & subzero package, and super-clean interior & exterior. We paid 53K, from a local Audi dealer who got it on trade-in. We would have preferred a grey exterior, but hey, can't argue that the red is gorgeous - just a bit too...

Considering used S 90D, but battery concerns

Thanks to this thread, my other research, and the dealer's willingness to drop the price by a bit, my family is now joined by a gorgeous red Model S 90D. As you all suggested, the battery charged up just fine. Very pleased. Thanks for your help!

Considering used S 90D, but battery concerns

Okay - it sounds like the consensus opinion that this probably isn't an issue. I'll check it out with the local super charger before committing, but I think we're good on that front. Thanks, all!

Considering used S 90D, but battery concerns

Hey all, I've been lurking here for years, and have finally decided to jump in to the pool. For my family's needs, a Model S 90D (no "P", even though the CPO folks seem to be over-flowing with them - I've got two teenagers - too hard to insure). A local car in beautiful condition is sitting on...
