    Tesla App not working?

The app is working fine for me this morning. Possibly an issue with your car? Try opening with your keycard and see if there are any messages on the screen. The car may be in a state where it's stopped communicating with Tesla's servers.

No ranger service in the UK

I agree completely. Having a ranger service, or even (shock horror) some approved 3rd party service/repair shops, would be great. The only thing that's happened is a slight expansion of the service centres. If your flat happened today, I expect you'd get a tyre shipped from the Milton Keynes...

    Poll - 60 to 75 upgrade

I have an S60D. When new, it showed 207 miles, now it shows 203 @ 100% (7 months later) The difference is being in the UK: a) rated and typical range figures are a different calc in Europe to the USA b) local conditions may make a difference too, I think, as Wh/mile figures are generally...

    TeslaFi.com

    1) car responds to the app immediately 2) no delay while the car 'wakes up' when you get into it (if it was sleeping) Speaking personally, neither is a problem for me.

Apparently, froot requires disambiguation on wikipedia! Froot (disambiguation) - Wikipedia no mention of Teslas, though

    Firmware 8.0

My AP1 car was in for service yesterday and got upgraded to this version. Release notes are the same (fan speed). No obvious driving differences on my commute today.

Some of the locations I've charged at have a connection fee + per kWh fee structure (e.g. £1 connect + £0.30/kwh). Is it possible to reflect this charging structure for a location?

    TeslaTracks

Now that Tesla have the improved SuperCharger info on the map, will you be keeping the SpC availability feature? It seems a little redundant? If you are keeping it, I'd like to request that availability updates expire after a period of time. It's of limited use to know that 2 stalls were...

Some bugs in this for people not in a continental US timezone, I think. For me, these emails arrive at midday local time, but it's unclear what period they're telling me about. Yesterday at 12:00, the email told me: "you drove [car name] 42.49 mi on this latest charge ...2hr 39m Time Since...

    Ap1 seems better on 17.4.14

Ah! Thanks. I've never trusted AP to bring me to a stop behind another car, except in slow traffic. Probably due to that late braking.

Cruise Control Not Available (Autopilot too)

I have had TACC become unavailable a couple of times in fog and heavy spray off the road surface on the highway. It came back later in the drive when conditions improved. Haven't experienced the facing-the-sun issue, but then again, I live in the UK! I'm on AP1 with a 2016 facelift car.

    Ap1 seems better on 17.4.14

What do you mean by this? Are you using AP1 to stop at traffic lights, or do you mean in stop-go traffic?
  18. N

    TeslaFi.com

That's great, thanks! I'm not sure why, but the international date format looks odd to me written with slashes; I've only ever seen it use dashes as separators (YYYY-MM-DD).

    TeslaTracks

Hi @bschippers718, I love the summary battery entries, but sometimes they say things such as below "no range used while driving 110.46 mi". Is this because of the server maintenance you mentioned was going on yesterday?
  20. N

    Version 17.4.14

Ditto. For me, it's become more 'jittery'. I've noticed the car reacting more strongly to changes in traffic speeds, or things it thinks might be hazards, resulting in it making small adjustments to speed quite a lot on the highway where before it was very smooth. It's also abandoned lane...

This is quite a big issue for me. Nice app, but range is more important to me that the stats. I'm probably not your target market anyway. What's the best way to withdraw from the beta?
  23. N

    TeslaFi.com

True. I did have it set to off. I haven't checked whether the sw upgrade has reset it to on, but since it takes a minute for the mobile app to connect, I think its still set off.

    TeslaFi.com

11-Jan-2017... a sample of today... Car slept for 3hrs 51mins today and was idle for 13hrs 39 mins. 14miles range loss in total, mostly while idling.

    TeslaFi.com

Sleep behaviour of my car has changed also, I think. I set-up deep sleep for my workplace on 11 Jan, and my car slept for the entire day that day. The next day, my car upgraded and now it's sleeping for up to 12 minutes, then idling for around 30 minutes before sleeping briefly again. Last...

UK domestic 3 pin extension lead

I bought this, because it's generally useful around the house. Fully unwound, it's rated for 3kW. I haven't used it for charging yet, but expect to in a couple of weeks.

How much it is actually costing me

Maybe I'm doing this wrong, but the way I look at is: Before MS: I was spending about £50/week on fuel With MS: Charging costs me around £15/week. That's with UK fuel prices, though.

    Smart preconditioning vs. phone app

VisibleTesla allows you to do exactly this, I believe. You need your own local kit to run it. I'm pretty sure it's no longer in active development, though.

    Alloy Wheel Refurb - London

I had them fitted by the detailer I used to put paint protection on my car. 2 days later, I scraped a wheel slightly on a very tight exit 'chicane' in a car park, and the AlloyGator took the damage, so I'm happy with them. I didn't find any downsides when I researched them, unlike the ones...

    Blue Commando adaptor

@MtlS2015, in the UK the UMC comes with a blue commando socket adaptor. It may be that your local Service Centre can order one for you? https://www.tesla.com/sites/default/files/Mobile_Connector_Touchscreen_EU_R20160317_en_UK.pdf

    James Cooke's Model S Failed

Yes, but my understanding (and I'm no expert on this) is that this protection only covers things that you can prove were defective on delivery. An ECU failing several years after the car was sold is unlikely to be covered. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will confirm.

    Mobile Connector and Chademo

I believe the Tesla type 2 cable is actually reasonably priced (around £140, I think), but there are lots of other options online for around the same price. I don't have one, as I didn't think I'd have a use for it, but a conversation with another owner whilst charging the other day is making...

    TeslaTracks

A couple of possible bugs I have noticed: 1) the app isn't picking up all of my driving or charging. I did one trip of around 400 miles last week, including 2 SuperCharger stops. Some legs of the trip didn't register and nor did the first SpC stop. I can see these okay in TeslaFi, so it's no...

    Anyone near Hertford?

Exactly. It should be the cost of the new unit + a couple of hours of a Sparky's time. If you install an untethered unit, then it's just the cost of the new cable if you change cars. For info, my total cost for home charging was around £2k. £400ish of that was the Tesla wall unit, the rest...

    Anyone near Hertford?

It is. I have one. In practical terms, it's only advantage is the button on the plug that opens the charge port of your car! Design's a subjective thing, I think it looks good, but then so do some of the other chargers that are available on the OLEV scheme. In hindsight, I think I should...

About to take delivery in the UK

Yep. In my case, the two things I didn't notice were: 1) a small area on the bonnet that was missing the top coat of lacquer 2) a 'pimple' under the paint on the rear panel, where I presume a small particle of something was stuck on the car when the paint was applied.
  44. N

Where would you like to see a new Supercharger?

Over that timescale, I think we're going to see massive changes in transport, and the infrastructure that supports it. Tesla's SuperCharger network is necessary today to remove the biggest objection to purchase - convenient and (fairly) quick recharging. In 3-5 years time, I don't think they'll...

About to take delivery in the UK

Correct. @MathTek, if you're getting paint protection put on, I would ask your detailer to also do paint correction first to remove swirls etc. At delivery, I would concentrate on any paint issues your detailer won't correct. There were two very minor paint problems on my car (collected in...

    Anyone near Hertford?

Yes, it's very fragmented. Your best option is to look at the areas you're visiting/travelling through on Charging points and electric vehicles UK 2016 - Zap Map or PlugShare to see who provides chargers in that area, and then look at their websites to see how to use their chargers. Most...

Where would you like to see a new Supercharger?

@cookielovers, are you suggesting 3 SpC in Winchester, another in Southampton and one in Bournemouth? I think that might be optimistic! Looking at the 2017 map that @WannabeOwner posted, I don't see any new locations on the south coast, unfortunately. I've never travelled that route, but...
