I'm very happy to have received the e-mail and the recall! Such a relief. Especially since my 2017 is over 130,000 miles lol. I'm afraid everyday itll give out on me.
My 2017 is already past 105k miles. So Im well outside warranty.
I've also seen posts where people have legit had the headlights replaced up to 7 times.
What I'm looking for is someone who has had experience heating and separating the headlights and whether it's possible to retrofit...
Hey guys,
I'm frustrated with the burnt out DRL LED accent lights on the 2017+ refresh Model S headlights. Ive read the dozens of threads with people with the same issues.
Can anyone confirm if the headlights can have the adhesive heated, softened and cracked open to do a repair on the...
Has anyone attempted to take apart the headlights and repair them?
I see threads with older headlights being taken apart and painted black and upgrading components but nothing on these current headlights.
I mean someone has to have made an attempt right?
How to do doughnuts and burnouts in a Tesla? Here's how with a small glitch. The glitch is changing the wheel configuration
- Step 1 : Go to Menu, Service, Wheel configuration.
- Step 2 : Stay with the same size wheels but change the color of your wheels. Silver vs Sonic Carbon or...
Wow my apologies guys. I definitely should of searched before hand. I scrolled the 1st 2 pages of this forum and didnt see anything about it.
Thank you for taking the time to share the links.
I have a May 2017 - 75D so I understand that the dash cam will not work unless its produced after Aug 2017. I've tried it and it doesnt work. Got it
Today I got the 2019.12.1.1 update and it now allows sentry mode. What's weird is when I go to "Safety and Security" it allows me to turn...
Hey everyone I've tried searching around a lot and haven't really found a solid answer.
My interest is to see whether or not I can add additional modules to my 75kwh battery to make it into a 90kwh capacity.
Hear me out..
I understand there is information on 100kwh battery packs...
Hey! I love using your site! Hands down my favorite site to use on the Tesla.
I noticed a few days ago the maps looks a little different. Are you no longer using google maps? Nothing wrong with it, just looks visually different
I know I know.. it's not a "proper" ceramic coating but I think the video does justice.
I masked off 3 boxes with painters tape on my hood. I tried untreated paint vs meguiars wash and wax vs hydrosilex. Then I dumped water on it. Super dooper scientific, but I think the video speaks for...
Thanks for the link! I wish I had an air suspension! I missed out on the free standard air suspension by like a month after I ordered it. Sad day.
I may have to go hitch
I'm replying from the hospital now, I tried the cardboard cut out and sticking my arm out the window to hold it at 70 mph and it was like trying to arm wrestle Thor. My arm is broken in 19 places. Remind me not to do that again. ;)
As for the altitude compensation and air conditioning...
Hey guys,
I have a Model S with a Seasucker bike rack that holds 3. Today I made a short trip to the mountains from Denver to Winter Park carrying 2 downhill bikes on the roof.
Well my 75D should have a range of 260 miles and I commuted 163 miles with only 24 miles remaining when I got...
Yeh it's a thing. They showed me the part afterwards. Definitely behind the MCU. It's the same part they do to retrofit 3G to LTE. They said out of warranty it would cost me $500, same as the upgrade would cost if I had an older gen Tesla.
I literally dealt with this today!
I could not get my Gen 1 sensors in the Turbines to work on my Gen 2 MS.
I went to discount tire and had them swap out my old sensors on my old 19s and put them into the 21s. It cost $170 in labor to do the following:
8 tire dis mounts
4 tire...
Hey guys!
I found some 21" turbines in craigslist with a lot of curb rash. I was able to get them for a good deal and I sanded the curb rash out, used some filler, sandblasted the wheels and used Duplicolors Gloss Black wheel enamel and gloss. I used nickel slag to blast the wheels with the...
Yes I would definitely say so. It was noisier and the build quality on the interior panels wasn't as good at my mid 2017 build. Lots of rattles. I also upgraded to 21" wheels recently so I cant blame it on the larger wheels.
While in the shop for over a week, Tesla gave me a P85D loaner which I absolutely fell in love with.
Since I've gotten my 75D back (uncorked) it feels horrifically slow. Like Tesla said... let's cork it back up and slow it down so he comes back.
The 75D used to feel so quick, now it...
Hey guys,
I have a 75D so it's irrelevant but for those of you with P90DL or above.. when you activate max battery power and it preheats the battery, what temperature does it indicate?
I'm trying to imagine at what outside air temperature and how long the car has been driving to get the...
Keep in mind the P85D has a sport mode (3.9 sec ish), an insane mode (3.1 sec) and ludicrous mode (also extra 5k if you were an existing owner down to 2.8 sec)
So those numbers are a tad skewed. BUT... it would put a 75D along side a standard P85. Very close.
Any 75d produced after July 1st already is uncorked from the factory. Uncorking is now officially available for pre July 1st cars... which is why we are so excited.
I don't think it's unfair.
The factory 75D was "restricted" while the 90s were already unrestricted.
After testing, Tesla realized they could pull back the restriction without damage to the drivetrain and battery.
What about the price difference between the 75d and the 90d? -...
You know what... I just changed the settings to "lock when walk away". So maybe when I'm walking in the garage in the morning I'm jumping right for the charger with they keys in my pocket and "auto present handles" is turned off.
So the car is still "locked" which is why I can't...
Just an update.. pushing or even holding the button on the charger does not give me a white light to remove. I have to use the key fob and release it from there. I can't do it via the charger
This adds quite a bit of clutter to the 100 page post now. Call your service center and give them the last 6 digits of your VIN to see of you qualify or not. As for the majority of your list that you posted you could easily edit and remove most of the obvious... like X044 phone dock...
Thanks guys. For the last 7 months I've owned the car I've casually walked up in the morning, one push of the button and i hear the car click on, I get a white light and the lock disengages.
Weird that now I have to hold the button but I'm totally ok with that. Easy fix.
Hey guys..
Weird one here but I noticed after my software update (2017.40.1e29b97f) I noticed that in my garage when I try to remove the charging adapter, I used to be able to push the bottom on the charger connected to the port, the light would turn to white and unlock and I could remove the...
Ok. It sounds like I am eligible! I called the service center everyone recommended and they told me my VIN is eligible . My service center just needs updated information!
Called my service center. She was very helpful.. I explained I have a 198xxx VIN.. and she said I do NOT qualify. She said in the entire state of California only 4 cars are currently flagged for the update.
She said there's even SIGNATURE models that are even eligible which blew me away...
I said the same thing . I was like how is this possible but my car isn't. She said she has no idea but all she has is a list of cars eligible and there's signature models that are listed.
I want that list
