Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

No, he joined Tesla in late 2016. ... This is my last post on TMC. Over the last year or so it has become somewhat apparent that the majority of posters here are not interested in participating in productive discussion, discourse, objective reasoning and critical thinking. People here, it...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

"So what?" As if Apple's output was the standard for high quality software  Tell me, when was the last time people universally praised, technically solid, bug-free Apple software? Snow Leopard? iPhone OS? iOS6? Anyhow, you can count Apple's breakthrough software efforts on two hands...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'm working in this industry, for what, 25 years now? Your attempt to school me on this very topic, is at best cute, at worst, offensive. So if you have any dignity, I wouldn't mind an apology. I never actually said that, but thanks for putting words in my mouth. Yes, it's a common...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yes, but it's a super small team of a dozen designers or so, based at Tesla Design in Hawthorne. Keep in mind that they're not only in charge of all the MCU UIs but also the Tesla website, the app, etc.! The team size is maybe a 1/10 or 1/20 of what it actually should be, compared to FB, AAPL...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I've seen people repeating that over and over again since Q1 EC, like a mantra, yet the stock keeps falling persistently for months. But you're right in some sense: $238 is already awfully close to $200.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Lack of demand is just one part of the bear narrative I'd say, the others are falling ASP and lower-than-expected margins on SR(+).
  7. Anstandswauwau

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Actually not, no. The only catalyst I can see is TSLA making (solid) profit - and that's reportedly not going to happen in Q2. It's the only way to prove bear / media narrative wrong.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Let's see how it does first. Anyhow, I doubt insurance will make a dent until late '19. Positive news is priced in 100% ("Okay, they're building factories, so what?" ~ market) yet lots of potential downside if they miss their targets. You learned nothing from the Q1 earnings, did ya? Cheers!

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Re-evaluated TSLA after taking a break from anything related to Tesla for more than a week: Capital raise pump was surprisingly short-lived TSLA "not-fundamentals" are looking pretty darn bad right now; still trapped in that ugly f***ing w*dge Macros are now down the shitter thanks to the...

Short time technicals are looking reasonable well. If you believe in a quick reversal, now is the time to get in. Not an advice.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

TSLAQ already has a field day with this 10-Q; waiting for alternative interpretations by TMC bulls. Truth is likely to be found somewhere in the middle.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Should have rather said "SEC situation" which originated with the unfortunate "Funding secured" tweet / stunt / whatever you want to call it.
  19. Anstandswauwau

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Eh, the penalty was "shrouding TSLA in uncertainty", which significantly contributed to the free-falling SP in the past couple of weeks. Hard to put numbers on indirect damage, but this stunt certainly wasn't cheap.
  20. Anstandswauwau

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

FYI: TSLAQ did some back of the napkin math and they suspect Elon to get margin called at around $136. No idea if there's any truth to that particular number, though. Legitimate or not, let's hope for Tesla, SpaceX, EM and mankind that we don't get close to that level.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Thanks. FYI: I bought my first TSLA shares in mid 2015 and accumulated throughout early 2019 (bought those dips). Sold my position with minimal loss in March. I've originally planned to hold a long position for at least 10 years but again, as things stand right now, I'm not seeing it. No...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Did exactly that a month ago. But the decision to dump my position had nothing to do with liking or disliking Elon. Actually, I admire, love him for all of his accomplishments – after all he was one of the main reasons why I had a sizable TSLA position and why I'm posting here. I strongly...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Thanks for correcting my post. Mixed those two roles up. My apologies. Shouldn't be posting during a meeting (or according to some of you, at all), haha.
  25. Anstandswauwau

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You do get the difference between "leading" in a visionary sense and running a business on a day-to-day basis (CEO), right? I'm not marginalizing Elon's involvement in any way, all I do is suggesting a role that may fit Elon's skills better.
  26. Anstandswauwau

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

See, that's exactly the point. Elon isn't CEO of SpaceX, he doesn't run its daily business and they're doing just fine (besides recent Crew Dragon's RUD). Why shouldn't this be the case for Tesla, too?
  27. Anstandswauwau

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

What do you think? Is Tesla Insurance a hidden capital raise scheme? Is Elon playing 4D chess again?

This raid ain't over yet, in fact, it hasn't even started; watch new sell ratings hit TSLA *every single time* the SP tries to recover. Predicting low 200s in the coming weeks and months.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Finally! Just yesterday I've learned that a third of global car sales are RHD cars (or something like that). This is huge news, @Fact Checking @ggr !!!

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

LOL, you're quoting a – pardon my French – moronic, factually wrong page that's mixing up relative population with the relative car market in the same effing sentence. What a great source you have there, buddy! Green: Factually correct Red: Made up BS based on a preschool subtraction...
  35. Anstandswauwau

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Sometimes I'm not sure if people can read on this forum or if they're just trolling. Please allow me this one question: Are you capable of comprehending the semantic difference between relative population- vs. relative car market-size? No? That's what I've thought.
  36. Anstandswauwau

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Sure. Yes, but that's not what you've said originally: Looking at those RHD countries, I highly doubt that RHD countries make up a third of the global car market. I couldn't find any numbers, but my gut feeling tells me it should be somewhere between 10-20%. Now if we're talking Model 3...

Exactly, that's why I was asking for a source on @Fact Checking 's claim.
  38. Anstandswauwau

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

True, but I believe this certain group of customers is way smaller than the "let's buy the latest and greatest"-audience. Again, I think the spec bump is nice and necessary but it's a weird in between solution for a problem that doesn't *really* exist. At least not at scale. Just speaking for...
  39. Anstandswauwau

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Nice spec pump - yet I think it's a missed opportunity not to bundle it with the new interior and a slight exterior refresh. "The all new Model S/X" IMO would have had way more sales punch than "a bit better in every regard / from SF to LA in one charge".
