Tesla at the Grand Prix du Cycling at Quebec

Tesla Model S as a support car for the only cycling major event in North America. Very environmental and no exhaust for the cyclists to breathe. Sorry about upside down.

First Blood! Detailing my Model S

Today while cleaning salt and dirt off by happy place (Model S), my thumb nail was caught and partially torn off. I super glued it back together after a painful cleaning. Anyone else have a blood, sweat, and tears story? Sorry that I am not a great story teller but many here are.

    Supercharger - Mishawaka/South Bend IN

(mod note: Tesla announced official openings for the Mishawaka, IN and St. Joseph, MI Superchargers for December 11th, see details in this thread) Mishawaka IN (South Bend) will have a supercharger very soon. The power company just needs to plant a pole and run the wire to power the six...

    Reverse limited to 15 mph

Top Gear USA showed the Model S going 60mph in reverse. I just tried going in reverse today and was limited to 15 mph. Comments?

Top Gear Favorable review by Clarkson of electric MB SLS

On the 7/29/2013 Clarkson is actually gushing about an electric car. I think I saw a Grin from Clarkson. He still claimed 20 hours for a recharge and other anti EV drivel. There is hope for the future, but I can tell from his tone that Tesla Model S will still be bashed and abused...

    Lines in windshield

Today while cleaning my windows, I noted thin lines vertically oriented in the windshield. There were two perfectly straight in the exact middle with about ten more every few inches. I expect these are manufacturing artifacts between the panes as they were glued together. Anyone else? Any...

No 40kWh batteries. Software limited 60kWh instead.

There is a new article in USA today online that there will be no further orders for the 40 kWh battery and they will use 60 and electroically limit. I think this is a great thing for the 40 kWh as it will improve their battery life expectancy. It also says that Tesla is profitable. Sorry I...

Door Handles: My Tesla S gives me the cold shoulder when I leave it in the cold

I have noticed that when I leave my Tesla outside in the cold that I have trouble getting it to respond and extend its handles. This is with gloves, with cold hands and even it will not extend when I get the fob out trying again. Suggestions or comments?

Like a v......, for the very first time, recharging in the wild.

Ten days and one thousand miles after delivery, I decided to go 300 miles round trip. I filled to maximum over night. I drove around town to work. I drove 50 miles of site. Plugging into a fifty foot 12 gauge extension 110 volt for 6 hours gave the Tesla 20 extra ideal miles. I then drove...

How many amps can the Model S pull from a NEMA 14-50?

I have wired for my HPWC but it will not be available when the car is delivered. The electricians placed a NEMA 14-50 plug for now. Ordinarily this plug would be limited to 40 amps continuous. Will the Model S pull only 40 amps or will it pull 50? How dangerous would it be? It is on a 100 amp...

    NPR all things considered review.

Did anyone else hear the Tesla Model S review on NPR today? A few inaccuracies I think but a very positive review. I think it was a teaser for a bigger review.

Bug splats: better or worse than other cars?

What do you think about the aerodynamics of the Model S with regards to bugs? Now that spring is back and I see the bug smears on my car grill and windshield, I wonder, does the new car aerodynamics cause more or fewer bugs to hit than other similar cars? My wife's Highlander hits more rocks and...

Steering column and wheel, I love it.

I just spent an hour going through a beta. I found that I love the steering wheel and the column. I see why they chose it. MB has made good choices. It tilts and telescopes more than most. The controls have intuitive feel even though I have only ever driven a MB around the block previously...

Car Care: Practical car care, what to do?

I am trying to decide how to care for my Model S. I live in a lot of ice and snow. I am going to drive all winter long. Do I wash the car every few days with a standard car wash? There are no touch less car washes unless I use a wand. That would be a no go in the winter. What do people...

    Viral/Grassroots Marketing

As the obsessed fanboy that I am, I am always talking to people about my future Tesla Model S. Many people are truly interested in seeing or driving it. We are 100 miles from the Tesla Store. I plan to put up signs to announce the arrival of my new baby and have one or more events similar to...
