SpaceX vs. Everyone - ULA, NG, Boeing, Lockheed, etc.

This is a common fallacy. The thrust doesn't change just because of the speed of the rocket.

Hmmm, thank dog that I'm taking a break from moderating.

And I will reiterate that the moderators have no control over the forum software, and even our suggestions are often ignored.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The software doesn't allow it. Note that the moderators have no control at all over the software. Note also that the mod (singular) already weighed in and has been roundly ignored. I could start issuing bans, or I can go away and do my day job for a week or two. I think I'll do the latter. I...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Mod: I just deleted 18 posts for continuing the banned discussion of Elon and his politics. It's not about whether I/we as moderators have an opinion one way or the other. It's because it kills this otherwise useful thread. DO NOT DO THIS. Someone asked about a lot of missing posts. All I know...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I just saw a Highland Model 3 on the road in San Diego. I didn't realize they are delivering them yet. It had the temporary paper plate, so it wasn't a demo vehicle.

Both our FSD cars got the 12.3 update this morning. It seems much better than the 11.xx I had yesterday. Edit: Oops, missed your mention of "canucks".

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Nothing is worth the effort of reporting to the SEC. I sent a bunch of reports back in the mid-late 2010s, and except for the form letter "we added you to the queue", have never had any response or apparent effect.

Wiki Selling TSLA Options - Be the House

As you can see in the graph above, Q3 2012 was indeed a negative Gross Margin. While Tesla managed to deliver the first ten Model S in Q2, there were a lot of S's that were undergoing significant re-work before they could be delivered even in Q3. I can't remember if they had already stopped...

Tesla Employee was the biggest jerk!!!!

The pre-purchase agreement specifically states that any co-signer must be present at delivery. It would be really easy for me to add Amber Muchnick as a co-signer and just scribble something if they weren't present. You probably wouldn't like that.

    Angela Chao accident

If it was 2020 with stalk, you push down for forward, and up for reverse. If it was 2021 with on-screen shift, you swipe up for forward and down for reverse. BUT... it should have already selected forward unless there was something blocking the front of the car.

Why do you like your Tesla?

Try telling that to Jan Łukasiewicz. Admittedly he invented what we would now call Prefix Polish Notation, and HP "reversed it" to RPN. (Pronounced roughly as "wook-a-SHEY-vitch", which I guess is why most people call it "Polish". :-) )

Mod: I deleted off topic posts about FSD and the UK EV poll. In both cases, the first post would have been fine if only the other 14 people hadn't all followed up and polluted the thread. You don't all have to say "me too". The Nobel Prize discussion can cease now too. --ggr

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

As usual, there are competing forces at play here. First, forget that it is Elon, or any other huge shareholder, and just look at the effect on the company of Joe Random exercising options. A small amount of cash goes to the company to pay for the shares at the strike price. At the same time an...

    The demise of the OEMs

I heard a Toyota sponsorship radio ad on NPR yesterday. Something like (from memory): "Toyota hybrids combine the best of performance and efficiency!". Hmmm, yes, they get the performance from the electric motor and battery, and they get the efficiency from the battery and electric motor. Hmmm.

Annoyed mod: 31 posts about Ukraine/OT/musk-bashing and followups deleted. There is a reason we have dedicated threads and banned topics. And there is one member who seems to just want to continue conversations even when it's clear they should have stopped already. If you think this might be...
