    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

I was averaging 285 wh/mi over 95,000 miles. I recently replaced the tires on my 2018 75D and it's averaging 311 since the change. Hopefully it'll settle back to high 280s soon!

    Tesla Fire in Shanghai

Well. I have to say, I’ve seen videos of thermal runaway battery fires on large packs before. The way this one started looks eerily similar to the ones I’ve seen before. It’s very possible that it’s just a thermal runaway situation. The cooling system failing would cause this. It would have to...

    Software Update 2019.16.x

I was really surprised to find out that my car knows when it’s dirty!!

    Model S Mistake? Advice appreciated

Agree with the other responses. You can mindf**k this until the cows come home - the bottom line is you picked up an amazing car at a great price. Trust me when I say that every day you drive it, you'll thank yourself for making this choice. Enjoy your awesome car!

    Rear bumper alignment issue

This is funny, on my S, the driver's side bumper looks like your picture, but the passenger side is perfectly flush.

    Seriously Tesla, TACC sucks now

Well, now... that IS quite strange... Why would it be different?
  7. BPSoCal

    Seriously Tesla, TACC sucks now

No, go to your Tesla account, click the Manage button. Right under the Referral program box there's a Support Box where you can describe your concern and email tesla from there.

    Seriously Tesla, TACC sucks now

I couldn't agree more, and it's happening to TONS of people. Hopefully Tesla is taking notice and will at least return the system to the way it behaved pre 5.15 software. I can also anticipate when TACC is going to slow down because there's an onramp merging out or into the freeway I'm in...

    Seriously Tesla, TACC sucks now

Absolutely. Do it when it happens. They have access to location and video data to review the incidents. I use the bug report tool quite a bit, even when it's simple glitches in the system. I would also follow it up with an email to support from your Tesla account so you get a response to...

Constant brake check for false positives in traffic.....UHG!

Seriously Tesla, TACC sucks now Yup. Same here. Posted on another thread under Driving Dynamics. Lots of people are having these issues. TACC is making people car sick with the constant accel/decel phantom braking.

    No charge overnight

Has anyone else experienced your Tesla not charging overnight even when it’s scheduled properly? I had this happen recently, in the morning the car didn’t wake up with the app, didn’t wake up when I opened the door and didn’t wake up with the pedal press. Had to do a scroll wheel reset for it...

has anyone used the no confirmation lane change?

Something similar happened to me, I was showing off the feature to my kids and while changing lanes into the carpool lane, the lane markings changed and the car jerked back to the original lane.

    Seriously Tesla, TACC sucks now

The bug reports I submitted via the talk button on the steering wheel. “Bug report, TACC sucks...” obviously be more descriptive. “Phantom braking, excessive acceleration and deceleration” or whatever you’re experiencing. I followed that up with a feedback email on the Tesla website. The tech...

Osborne Effect On Sales Of Models S & X

Thanks for the share. Interesting read for sure. I just hope the dip doesn’t take out Tesla!

    Seriously Tesla, TACC sucks now

8.5 marginally improved it. Just installed 2019.12. Will report if any improvement happens on this update.

AP Following Distance on Setting 1

I thought every click meant a 1/2 second follow from the car in front: On 1 - 0.5 second behind On 7 - 3.5 seconds behind

    Seriously Tesla, TACC sucks now

Yeah, this theory that it’s hardware related is a bridge too far. Coincidentally this started happening for me the day 5.15 was installed. Hmmm.

    Seriously Tesla, TACC sucks now

Well, after filing a dozen bug reports, got this email from Tesla Diagnostics: “Reaching out to your from Diagnostic Support. I have looked into your TACC issue and determined that your Model S needs to go to a Tesla service center for the issue to be duplicated and check some wire...

Decipher these used Model S pictures

Picture 11 looks like a ding to me - probably because of location - may just be a scratch. Overall the car looks really clean though! Thank the previous owner for taking care of it!

Kudos, Tesla. Service has been top notch for me

I'm usually the first to complain when I have a problem, usually directly to Tesla, not necessarily here. This, however, is the opposite. I bought a CPO MS last year. The car was in Fremont, I was in SoCal. I purchased it without test driving it, just off the pictures the sales guy sent me...

Decipher these used Model S pictures

yeah, scratches and a couple of dings - but I can't tell about the center console, I see what appears to be a gap in the back, but it might be lighting/shadow. Can't tell

    Software Update 2019.8.x

Let us know how it goes. Some people have suggested doing a hard reset. It hasn’t worked for me. Jerky TACC and lots of phantom braking. But give it a whirl. Hope it’s good!

    Seriously Tesla, TACC sucks now

I didn’t use to have a problem with the way TACC accelerated and braked before the 2019.5.15 software update. Ever since, it’s jerky AF, with the energy graph on, you can see how it swings wildly from accel to decel - so much so that it makes me queasy. I used to drive on TACC 90% of my...

    Software Update 2019.8.x

I had the exact same experience. Phantom braking galore and motion sickness from the accel/decel cycles on TACC. I’ve bug reported this a few times. Let’s all do it so they go back to when TACC actually worked well!

    Software Update 2019.5.x

Well, sorry to report that 2019.8.3 didn’t fix the jerkiness of accel/decel on TACC. I’ve bug reported the heck out of that. Hopefully more people do so it can go back to what it was.
  28. BPSoCal

    Software Update 2019.5.x

I have a 2018 build with AP 2.5 and the TACC is jumpy as hell on 5.15. Unusable and dangerous. It accels and breaks so much it makes me queasy. Off until software fix.

    First Road Trip Questions

Just take your time. Road tripping on an EV is a different thing altogether. If you’re in a rush, leave earlier. Supercharging takes time, but if you plan it around meals, you won’t notice much difference. Just be courteous to other drivers and vacate the spaces once you’re charged. Enjoy...

    Extra rear license plate frame?

Does anyone have a rear LP frame you want to sell? I’m partial to the one the says “All wheel drive” but will consider the Model S or Tesla one. Silver. My CPO came without a frame. Thanks!

    Used Tesla in California

Couldn’t agree more. I specifically looked for a vehicle that hadn’t been stickered yet.

@OP - when you say “tainted” vehicles in CA I assume you mean those that had stickers before?

    Scratched a Model S Loaner

I’m pretty sure all CPOs are certified, otherwise it would only be a PO.
