Help me understand why it is any of Tesla's need for a person to show proof that they sold the car and someone else bought it. Are they trying to be DMV now? I guess there is a good reason, but it is Sunday and my brain takes a vacation on this day.
“Hello tesla. I bought this car off silicon desert. Would you be so good as to give me app access so I can log in and drive it away keyless before selling it. Thanks for the help tesla, makes theft so much easier”
You can give someone access (and remove) under the website, Tesla account -> "manage" part of your car. Under "Car Access" this works for giving someone else access to the car via the app, to give the access, they must also have set up a tesla account with the same email you nominate for access.

I got a NS40Z for $39 has been working for last year perfectly! oh I used thicker lug adapters since the NS40Z has smaller terminals he threw in the terminals adapters free ! (they are just little pieces of lead anyway) thank me later...
Thought I'd add to the thread with some updated info. Had the 12V warning come up in my 2016 model S (original battery). $280 installed, $230 battery only. Made an apponintment through app, but asked for just the battery, they were happy to provide. New part number 1480221-00-A made by ATLASBX.
