15.5V AMD M3 - Subwoofer Install w/no 2nd battery?

Hi guys,

I’ve scoured through all of the threads of sub installs on my car and I’ve gathered tons of information so far and the verdict seems that with the new 15.5v system that you must use a second battery.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that most people are running into issues with higher wattage setups like 600+ watts, therefore needing a second battery.

Has anyone ran lower wattage, perhaps under 500watts and did not need a second battery? I really do not want to use a second battery as it’s expensive and takes up more space.

Thank you!

because of current? or voltage?

because it is easy enough to drop down the 15.5V to something closer to 12-13.2V...

maybe a voltage drop, current limiter and a big capacitor would get you something satisfactory, as long as you don't really use 600watts continuously.
