Was dropping my S off for Ludicrous upgrade and two red X beauty's were being delivered for final inspection before delivery. I'll post pics later, but it was my first time seeing in person and they were awesome!
hmm - I'd have guessed south OC would have had more founders than the poe folk of north OC
Video link not working. Has it been removed?
apparently . . . . It does seem to be a dead link. Whatever it was - i guess there were no regular still pics?

The Model X on the left has the 20" wheels. The Model X on the right has the 22" wheels. The interior on the right appears to be Ultra White synthetic. My order is Tan Leather. Thanks for posting the photos.

My order will be shipped to another location, so it does make sense that it not be processed at Costa Mesa.

I am always looking for benefits of delays or timing. In this situation, during previous repairs to Model S, I have requested Costa Mesa to skip the car wash due to excessive scratches on their loaner models. My Model X delivery destination has touchless wash bays, one benefit to be happy about during the wait.

Where are you having your X delivered?

I don't want a crowd to appear at that location and IMHO, Tesla Motors could change the location! I will post photos (if permitted) after delivery. Hopefully this will occur before the end of the year. No exact dates have been suggested, so the wait continues.

Thanx Mark, I was asking as I am waiting for my Production X, I did not think about your day of delivery tourists.

There is long full video with a close up look at the Red coming off the truck in the sun.
Since this style of smaller covered carriers are used for direct Model X deliveries to the Service Centers (except those sent by train to the east) there can be delays as with any third party company.

Too bad Tesla Motors doesn't have their own fleet of covered semi-trucks that are engineered for massive delivery quantities. Now I know why we don't see Tesla cars on those 8 car open carriers. Tesla Motors wisely uses the protective quality of these smaller trucks. However, it must be a major headache for the Fremont shipping department and the delivery specialists during holidays.

And speaking of Costa Mesa service center, we were there on the 24 th (they were closed that day). On the 24 th, but saw about 9 model X's in the lot all being white, black and midnight metallic gray. We (two families) have two model S's and are anxiously awaiting the delivery of two model X's. We were excited and thought we might have a chance to see colors, seat configurations, and back cargo area. My sister in law is trying to decide on two aspects of her configuration, 1. Six seats or Five seats 2. Color: midnight metallic gray. So we returned on the 26 th hoping to see the model X's in an effort try to complete my sister in laws configuration. The Costa Mesa service center absolutely would not allow us access to a model X at all. My brother who is an "2012 early adopter of an S" pleaded in a nice way with the employees and we were shut down.

I'm sure you were disappointed - but kudos to the Costa Mesa service center. Those are customer vehicles and policy has always (appropriately) been that customer cars are off-limits.

Hopefully they'll have a demo soon so your sister-in-law can get her questions answered - or maybe one of the new owners in your area will be generous enough to share.

It is frustrating, but I understand their policy. They are under pressure to get the cars delivered and any delay doesn't help. It's easier to say "no" to all requests when time is of the essence and they are trying to avoid the sharing of VIN numbers and the possibility of any scratches on the vehicles. Even the owners of the Model X Signatures have been given a "no touch" demand at Service Centers elsewhere.

How different 5 years ago this very night when I got back door access to sit in my 2011 Chevrolet Volt at the dealer in Costa Mesa with plastic on the seats. Learned the touchscreen and controls. A walk around occurred the next day to learn more about the vehicle and delivery occurred on the 30th. Only Tesla Motors topped that with Personal Delivery in 2012.
