Got mine model y inventory rwd 26/10/2023 and tenth digit is R, so i suppose it to be 2024? Also in service ticket it is listed as a model year 2024.

First time I’ve ever heard any Tesla being a 2024 this year. Last year, the European Model S became a 2023 for about a month before the USA got their first 2023. So there’s hope for those in the US still waiting for a 2024 vin this year.

After waiting for four months I just received a message from Tesla with the serial number, it will be available for pick up December the 29th 2023, and it will be a 2023 model X Plaid! They informed me that the 2024s would not be available till early 2024 (late January or February) and that there will be a price increase, so it was a no brainer, I will pick up the 2023 even though it would be considered one year old two days later, the changes are not a big deal for me and I would rather save some money and have a car now, have been without a vehicle for too long.

I bought a 2024 BMW 50e in May 2023. The 2025 Genesis G80 comes out by March 2024. Tesla still has 2023s!? If they really wanted to boost demand they should have 2024 vins already instead of discounting 2023s which are 1 to 2 auto model years old now. Yeah, there might be no changes for a 2024 but trading a model year is worth 10-15%.

How do you like your BMW X5 50e? I'm thinking of getting in by the end of 2024.

Good and bad. My 2022 X5 45e had a way to charge the hybrid battery back to 100%, the 50e doesn’t which means you have to remember to hit the save battery switch so HVAC will work remotely. Also the 45e had buttons for everything, the 50e has a only touchscreen interface that requires multiple touches to change hvac, radio channels, etc. which if I wanted that would just get a Tesla. Power is much greater tho in the 50e and ev range is about 40-45 miles. Nearly $90k with all options and even if optioned under $80k there is no ev credit yet this year. Resale value drops quickly about $25k-$30k first year and $15k each year thereafter, so if you have lots of spare change it is a fun phev. Better yet buy a one year old.

Hmm, it looks like most cars are going full touchscreen nowadays. I was really eyeing the X5 50e as my lease for the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is ending by Jan 2025.

My list is basically X5 50e, Lexus RX500h, or basically another full EV like BMW iX or MB EQS.
