I wonder with a 3.0 battery and normal 17 kw charging if you would do better as you would start off with 100 extra miles of range and you could run it lower as the AC charger works well at low states of charge.jep, you missed something.
a) we were allowed to start with a fully charged battery
b) our Roadster is equipped with a ChaDeMo-kit, so yes, we were able to charge app. 60mph
c) it wasn't a high-speed-event, at no time we drove faster than 70mph
a main difficulty was, that using ChaDeMo you can only charge your car when your charge-status in range-mode is >60miles,
otherwise ChaDeMo won't start (it seems to be a JeDeMo sw-problem) and above app 75% charge the charging speed decreases,
means current goes down, so to have the highest charging-speed and most performance you use actually "only" 50% of the ESS-
capacity (!)
well, however, we managed and made it View attachment 358560View attachment 358561

Outside the spirit of it, but it would be nerdy fun to bring a stack of power walls to fully utilize the 22kW power feed. Charge them while on track, then fill the car at a faster rate.
Hey, it's still all Tesla.
Oh sure. Just being pedantic about whether the rules state power from the wall or power into the car. (32A at what voltage )well, that would be great, but the rules are defining a maximum current of 32A while charging and the mayors are controlling that -
after all we want to win within the rules, not with cheating - and don't forget: driven wisely the roadster is still one of the most efficient ev's ever made !
we're confident, next year we'll be back with TWO roadsters ;-)
Congratulations for not only beating all the other cars entered but also all the theoretical cars entered for next year. Absolutely a great achievement racing in an unknown environment. Did you prep the car prior to racing?
