I just noticed that the passenger side windshield wiper, at its hinge about 5" from its mounting post, is raised up enough that it has scraped paint off of the underside edge of the hood. I pressed down on the hinge, seem to have bent it enough that it's no longer rubbing.

Take a look at your own cars. Hope it's not a universal problem.

I have exactly the same problem. It's a 06/21 production, and I took the delivery two days ago.

I have a service request created for this. I'll see how Tesla addresses it.
I'm back from the service center today. They found they could not adjust the wiper motor to create a space so they ended up replacing the wiper arm altogether, and this finally solved the problem. This sounds like the "proper" way but in the same principle of OP's bending solution - the wiper arm was out of shape. Of course the service center touched up the scratched paint, too.

This is a known problem where the hood can be warped or stamped wrong and adjusted to the full extent. The initial fix is replacing the original wiper arms with a slimmer, redesigned one. If that doesn't fix it, the hood needs to be replaced. A couple of people here, who posted last year and took delivery of early builds had similar problems.

You can run your finger along the edge of the hood, closest to the windshield, to feel if the paint is chipped from the wiper arm hitting it. Also, you can hear the wiper arm hitting the hood from inside the car under certain conditions (how fast you are going, how much it's raining, the speed of the wipers, and so on).

Just wanted to share my experience here as I'm having the same issue. I just noticed this on our late May 2021 built Model Y. I don't know how long this has been happening, but it's quite upsetting. Hopefully Tesla Service makes it right!

Yep, same problem here too. Took a chunk of paint off.

There is very small clearance even after the problem was fixed by Tesla (which replaced the wiper arm entirely). I can barely slide a credit card (in fact a narrow stripe cut from an old credit card so the curve of the hood is not a problem) through between the wiper hinge and the hood. I'm monitoring it as the temperature gets lower, to see if metal contraction of the hood will pull it onto the wiper hinge again.

I am tempted to take off the arm and put it in a vise to see if I can flatten out the curvature of the first part of the arm. I did talk to the service department and they said "it's your car and you can do what you want with it." Don't know if I want to take the risk. PAINT - no problem - I've got touch up from Tesla.

Why didn't the SC do anything about it? It's Tesla's quality issue and they should be held accountable for it.

I sent Mobile Service a couple of photos for review.

I wonder if a few of you with NO problems would check your clearance for me.
I can get four slices of paper between the hood and the wipe arm joint that is about 8 inches from where it is bolted to the wiper shaft. BUT I can not get a credit card to slide without getting bound up. Can you easily slide a credit card with yours? My biggest concern is when the icy winter comes my way.

That's about the same clearance as mine after Tesla replaced the wiper arm.
