Looking to possibly sell my 2021 Tesla Model 3 LR - Black / Black

My vehicle has 365 miles on it. Not a single blemish or ding anywhere. Model 3 might be a bit too small for me and looking to upgrade to a Model Y. Will only sell for the right price.

Black on Black Long Range Model 3 after all Tesla fees etc, was over 53k

Asking $50,000 obo

2021 Model has all of the refreshes.

Current wait time for new build model 3 is 8-12 weeks. Also, save on taxes and Tesla processor / Delivery fees.

Right but even being used poeple will just have to pay tax on it again in most states so not really saving much.

Not all states require tax. Also, the price listed on title will determine the Tax amount ..if you catch my drift

That is true, but unfortunately many states have become wise to this and if too low, will do fair market value or whatever they determine that to be

I agree with mikey_bs. Someone from a state with no sales tax on a used car bought of state can benefit on a lightly used Model 3 such as his.

New is $47,990.

FYI...full retail price on new one would be $49,190, not $47,990. You need to include the mandatory $1,200 destination and doc fee. So many seem to forget the $1,200 when quoting new Tesla prices.

In Massachusetts, the registry of motor vehicles collects sales tax on the vehicle when it's registered. So if you buy out of state and don't pay sales tax, surprise, you pay sales tax. This is true for many states.

These would be the more relevant states as it relates to this thread's new versus PP purchase discussion.

States that don’t charge any sales at all wouldn't provide a tax advantage to buying a private party car over new one. New or used, you couldn't be paying sales tax anyway.

Additionally, some states offer sales or excise tax exemptions specifically on EVs, at least new EVs. Several more offer tax credits or rebates on new EVs which could cover at least part of any sales tax.

It's a huge saving when you are talking $50K, in places in LA that's almost $6K in tax. I bought my Corvette private party from AZ, the seller was shocked when knew how much sales tax I'll have to pay on the car.
