2021+ Model S LR Delivery Tracking

Hi All,

I look delivery this past Saturday (Feb order 19" rims) and wanted to post some pictures of white on black. Overall I am very happy with the car. Only quality issue was some of the flooring material is lose and not fastened down properly and the car did not come with floor mats - they said they will send them in the mail. I can also confirm a 3 second flat 0-60. I also love the yoke. Very odd at first, but becomes fun and something different. The screen/ tech is amazing with absolutely no lag. I have also seen some reviews that the car is "Dated and old looking" I am 25 and I believe it is still one of the best looking sedans on the market. The small changes made to the car makes a HUGE difference in person. With a couple small mods it draws a lot of stares and attention even with the dumpy 19" wheels- being replaced soon. Enjoy and good luck to all

Nice. My color combo...

More photos, with another noteworthy car for perspective.

After the shoot, I took the MS out for a spin. If you punch it at 70 mph on a damp road, it will wiggle a little! And before you can back off, you'll be flirting with lose-your-license speeds. I had to sell a modern Porsche because of that sort of thing.

msHaunchComparison.jpeg

Well, the haunch comparison with the '82 air-cooled 911 is no contest.

msTails.jpeg

You should really install a tail like this before taking your MS out on the 'Ring.

The car on the left, from 39 years ago, is still very appealing for the raw experience, including the scream of a flat-six and the potential for a lift-throttle oversteer booboo. No computers, no chips. But both are engineering iconoclasts, which is why I like 'em.

msWheelCovers.jpeg

I'm not that fussy about wheels, but the Model 3 wheel covers were so hideous I took them off. I'm leaving the Model S covers on.

Has anyone tried gaming on this thing? I’m picking up my car this Saturday and I want to impress my 10 year old son with that too. Do PS5 controllers work?
I've heard that Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk aren't out on the car just yet. You might just have to impress him with how quick the car goes zoom for now, haha.

I'd imagine PS5 controllers work, but you wouldn't get any of the exciting bits that come with those controllers (enhanced haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, etc), since those are specific to PS5 games. Honestly, it's probably cooler to show him the kart racer that you steer with the car's yoke.

Once V11 comes around, we might have some real games on this thing.

Edit: I'm a big quarantine gamer haha. I gamed a lot as a kid, so I picked up the Series X and PS5 during quarantine. I feel like the gaming kick is part of what excited me about this car initially, since I was just planning on getting a Model 3 at first. Total gimmick, but I was like, "oh, cool, neat party trick".

Nice looking spoiler did you get it on ebay? If yes, please share details.

Had an infuriating conversation with a customer service rep over the phone today. For context, i ordered an MSM with white interior and 19s back in May.

Had an EDD of Sept. until August, then it changed to October after the apology email. Last week it went to Sept. 20-30 so i called Fremont and was told that my car is in build phase and should be ready this month or in October.

This Monday i woke up to updated EDD of Nov29-Dec19. Today i called customer service. This guy Jared picked up and proceeded to argue with me that no LR model s are in production and never been and only Plaids are in production. I told him that i have seen them and part of TMC and 100s of people have them. He told me im wrong and not seeing what im seeing. Said im seeing Plaids.

I never wanted to hurt someone so bad.

I would try again and if you get Jared, hang up and try again. Insane you have to, but clearly only thing that will work.

I'd say we are at the point now even where more LRs are being delivered than Plaids - ug.

So a day or so b4 the apology email, my SA said that her systems show my RN1148 was set for late Oct, early Nov.

Then after the apology email, EDD suddenly moved to late Sept. Been late Sept for 1 month, stuck at Sept 21 to 30 for a week now. SA still says it's Oct/Nov

Seems like these EDD are just kind of Horse Manure. Some get the cars, some don't. But keeps us suckers hoping.
No kidding! Today my EDD changed to Sept 24-30. SA knows zilch other than don't call us, we'll call you.

Haha, I've had similarly frustrating calls.

The most common lie seems to be, "I'm seeing exactly what you're seeing." We know that they see more than the EDD based on several anecdotes on this forum. If they just told us what they saw, we'd probably call less frequently. I know that they can't make guarantees, but it's helpful to have more information.

One of them though, was fantastic. I asked if the car was coming with summer, or all-season tires. I was told that although it's coming with summer tires, they're "not the most performance summer tires". Basically, I should be ok unless I'm driving up to Killington in the winter. (This is completely false, those tires start to crack at 45 degrees Farenheight).

I thought it was funny that that's the example he used, because ... well, I'm going to drive up to Killington in the winter. He said it like Killington is not a common destination in the winter? I don't think anyone mentioned to him that people do ski and snowboard...

On top of that, he said that I'd have to get custom rims if I want ANY tires besides the summer tires, because these rims are a non-standard size. Bold faced lie. There are tires for these rims, you just need to get tires rated by Tesla. Plus, there are clearly all-season tires, as we know now.
